GX Superyachts has announced that its first GX42 is on schedule for a summer launch, ahead of its first season in the western Mediterranean and a global debut at the 35th Monaco Yacht Show (September 23-26).

Featuring exterior and interior design by Marco Casali, the low-profile, eco-conscious motoryacht is entering the final construction phase, with development captured in new photos.

Maurizio Magri, CCO at GX Superyachts, said: “Build progress for the GX42 is right on target. Ahead of a summer launch, we are entering the exciting final phase of detailed interior fitout, which means we can finally see the finished yacht coming to life.

“The way this mould-breaking project has unfolded is a testament to the dedication and expertise of all those involved. It will be a moment of real pride when we unveil the boat at the Monaco Yacht Show for her worldwide debut.”

On the lower deck, furniture and joinery are largely complete in the guest accommodation and bathrooms. The focus now is on completing the saloon and owner’s suite on the main deck.

On the top level, the teak deck is installed and awaiting its final caulking. Sofas, tables and a large Jacuzzi will soon be fitted. In the semi-raised pilothouse, electronic and electrical work is well under way.

Casali’s vision for the interior of a relaxed family cruiser includes natural tones and materials such as the rich walnut panelling for walls and cabinetry, which contrasts with white leather and lacquer.

Casali said: “To see the interior that we designed being brought to tangible life is deeply satisfying. We always set a high hurdle for superyacht finish and precise detailing, but this first yacht from GX Superyachts is something else again. It’s a real manifesto for quality.”

In addition, GX Superyachts’ is finalising the design of the Voyager 38 and Voyager 45 models, while creating a development plan for a GX35 and GX50 to advance the line-up.

New generation, new priorities – Fraser

Once driven primarily by spectacle and scale, the superyacht industry has evolved into a market shaped by discernment, sustainability and strategic lifestyle intent, writes Fraser CEO Anders Kurtén in his latest column for Yacht Style.

Fraser, Anders Kurtén, superyachts, Yacht Style

Anders Kurtén, CEO, Fraser

The superyacht industry has recalibrated after the post-pandemic surge. Recently, the market has demonstrated refinement, with owners being more selective, timelines more considered and decisions increasingly guided by long-term vision rather than impulse.

Sustainability has moved from ambition to expectation, and the profile of today’s owner has shifted to one that prioritises flexibility, privacy, wellness and intuitive technology.

Fraser, Anders Kurtén, superyachts, Yacht Style

Global wealth realignment has also influenced the market. New entrants from technology, finance, cryptocurrencies and emerging markets have brought fresh expectations, while established owners focus on operational excellence.

Fraser’s new Global Superyacht Market publication dives into how global wealth dynamics and emerging buyer psychology are reshaping design preferences, ownership and lifestyle-led trends, guiding the industry toward a future defined less by spectacle and more by intelligent adaptation to the priorities of a new generation.

Fraser, Anders Kurtén, superyachts, Yacht Style

As 2026 unfolds, the superyacht industry is positioned for steady, selective growth, guided by a younger, experience-driven generation redefining luxury through purpose, performance and progress.

Following on from this year’s Southeast Asia Yachting Conference and Yacht Style Awards, the fourth Singapore Yachting Festival will crown a hectic six-day calendar at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove in late April.

Organisers expect more than 70 boats in the water at the April 23-26 show, with over 50 berths booked two months ahead as the region’s leading dealerships and shipyard representatives firmed up their displays.

Among brokerage superyachts, Camper & Nicholsons is set to show TNT Leisure, a 2019 Sanlorenzo SL86.

Boat Lagoon Yachting will again be exhibiting by the marina’s main entrance and should offer visitors a powerful first impression of the four-day show.

Southeast Asia’s largest dealership plans to exhibit a Princess Y95 – the British shipyard’s current ‘joint-flagship’ – alongside a Princess F65 and Princess F55, as well a Jeanneau Merry Fisher 1295 Fly.

At the other end of Dock E, Sanlorenzo Asia-Pacific and Simpson Marine – who have offices on Quayside Isle, overlooking the show’s in-water exhibition area – expect to again display multiple Sanlorenzo and Bluegame motoryachts. Their provisional line-up included a Sanlorenzo SD118, the second-largest model in the Italian shipyard’s semi-displacement series, as well as a Sanlorenzo SX100 and Bluegame’s BGX60.

Azimut is set to have a strong presence with a Seadeck 7 (71ft), Fly 62 and Magellano 60 exhibited by Marine Italia Asia, the Italian shipyard’s dealer in Hong Kong, Macau, southern China, Taiwan and Singapore.

The show’s strong ‘Made in Italy’ presence continues with inland builder Absolute, whose display could include a Navetta 64, Navetta 53 and Navetta 52.

Gulf Craft Group plans to have an on-water stand, fronted by CEO Erwin Bamps, alongside an in-water display led by the Nomad 101 superyacht and Majesty 62.

Sunreef Yachts plans to display a Sunreef 60 Eco sailing catamaran as the Poland-based shipyard with an additional production facility in the UAE continues to promote its semi-custom.

From UK, Sunseeker’s presence could be fronted by a Manhattan 68 and Manhattan 55, displayed by DCH Marine.

The fast-growing Asia-Pacific dealership also represents Saxdor, with the Finnish brand’s boats set to include the Asia premiere of the 340 GTWA walkaround along with the enclosed 400 GTC and open 320 GTO.

Asiamarine, another thriving regional dealership, is set to have a wide style of boats, potentially ranging from a Galeon 440 Fly motoryacht to a Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 54 sailing monohull and a Lagoon 51 sailing catamaran.

Leopard Catamarans could host up to three Asia premieres, with the brand staging the continental debut of the 2026 edition of its flagship 53 Powercat, which features a host of upgrades including the aft cockpit’s new ‘Alfresco’ modular furniture option.

Depending on shipping, the Leopard line-up could also include the Leopard 46 and 52 sailing catamarans, which would both also be Asia debuts.

Aquila will boost the show’s powercat presence, with Thailand-based dealer Primus Marine planning to exhibit the brand’s 54 Yacht and 42 Yacht flybridge inboard models, as well as a 42 Coupe outboard cruiser, having staged the latter’s Asia debut in Phuket earlier this year.

An Excess 13 could also be among new models at the show, just a year after the model’s world premiere in France. The sailing catamaran is set to be exhibited by Pro Sail Asia, the new Singapore dealer for Excess, in cooperation with Primus Marine, the French brand’s Thailand dealer.

A Prestige M48 multihull motoryacht and a Fountaine Pajot Samana 59 sail cat will be displayed by Asia Yachting, while a Greenline 48 Fly, Axopar 37 Sun Top and Axopar 29 CCX will be exhibited by Derani Yachts.

UX Marine – with two of its three owners based in Singapore – will again exhibit and showcase models from its Noordic line of dayboats. From China, Oceanwalker is returning as an exhibitor with an S60 power catamaran, while an Eastar TY560 powercat is set to be exhibited by Esora Yacht.

On land, JP Morgan Private Bank is back as the Official Bank Partner of the show, while Damen Yachting reaffirms its support as a major sponsor and again presents the Superyacht Lounge, following the Dutch superyacht builder’s positive experience last year.

New features this year include an invitation-only VIP experience, with buyers invited to exclusive VIP luncheons and cocktail receptions aboard a superyacht, where they will network with ultra-high-net-worth guests and enjoy bespoke culinary presentations by private chefs.

Asia Yachting hosts private event in Hong Kong

The Asia Yachting Private Yacht Show in Club Marina Cove was held over three days and featured motoryachts from four brands.

The Asia Yachting Private Yacht Show was held in glorious weather at Club Marina Cove in March. Visitors to the three-day event were able to visit yachts from four brands: a Fountaine Pajot MY6 flybridge power catamaran, Prestige 590 flybridge monohull, Oceania 45WA monohull cruiser and Four Winns HD240 wake boat.

“We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and it was wonderful catching up with our clients in such a relaxed, easygoing setting. Without the usual bustling boat show crowds, we loved having the time to walk the docks with guests, enjoy the sunshine, and really chat about upcoming boating plans,” Asia Yachting stated.

“While the boats on display turned heads, the real buzz right now is the pre-summer rush. We currently have some brokerage deals actively underway. It’s exciting to see our clients moving quickly to secure their dream yachts before the sunny season fully hits.”

The Aquila 50ES is part of the catamaran builder’s display of both sailing and power models at this year’s International Multihull Show in France.

Aquila has announced that the Aquila 50 Sail will make its Europe debut as part of a four-vessel line-up at this year’s International Multihull Show, which will be held in La Grande Motte on the south coast of France from April 22-26. Show organisers already expect 52 sailing and 22 power multihulls, following last year’s introduction of a dedicated powercat zone.

Aquila is a world leader in powercats and last year announced it was developing a range of sailing cats designed by long-term collaborator J&J Design of Slovenia. The range started with the 50 Sail, which had its world premiere at this year’s Miami International Boat Show in February.

The unit on show in La Grande Motte will feature Aquila’s Hybrid Ocean Drive option and is known as the 50ES (electric sail). Signature features include stairs from the flybridge to the bow, a solid foredeck, and four to six cabins, each with a private entrance and en-suite bathroom.

Aquila’s powercats on display at La Grande Motte comprise the 50 Yacht, 46 Coupe and 32 Sport. A certified Category A, offshore-capable model, the 50 Yacht is part of Aquila’s flybridge powercat range and features ‘explorer’ styling. Standout features include an expansive flybridge, bridge-to-bow stairs, flexible sunpads in the foredeck, a bar in the cockpit and up to four cabins below.

The 46 Coupe is the larger of two models that launched Aquila’s line of enclosed cruisers last year, while the 32 Sport is part of the brand’s original line of open outboard cruisers.

Jean Raas, Chief Product Officer at Aquila Catamarans and CEO of Aquila USA, commented: “It is always a pleasure to exhibit at the International Multihull Show. The 36ft Tarantella (Swan 36-001), the first yacht built by the Finnish shipyard founded by Pekka Koskenkylä in 1966, is among early entries following her meticulous restoration.

Be Cool, hull one of current flagship Swan 128, is also lined up for the event, while the model’s second hull, due to launch in May, is also expected to compete in Sardinia. The first new Swan 80, due to launch this spring, is also among upcoming yachts expected to join the large and diverse fleet.

Hosted by Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS), the event will feature three racing divisions. ClubSwan Racing section will be represented by ClubSwan 28, 36, 42, 43 and 50 models, and the Swan 45 class. ClubSwan Spirit is a division designed for owners wanting to compete without racing optimisation, while ClubSwan Legacy is for historic Swan yachts by German Frers, Sparkman & Stephens and Ron Holland.

Giovanni Pomati, CEO of Nautor Swan, owned by Sanlorenzo, stated: “The story of Swan is written on the passion, vision and dedication of its owners, sailors, employees, designers, partners and boatbuilders.

We are pleased that the longstanding collaboration between Rolex, the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and Nautor Swan continues, and look forward to joining in the celebrations together with the large fleet of participants.

“Since its very first edition, the Rolex Swan Cup has been defined by its family spirit, with owners and crews returning to the waters of the Costa Smeralda and the La Maddalena Archipelago not only to race in a unique setting but above all to come together. Designed inside and out by RWD, and built under the project name Ace 21, the superyacht represents the first collaboration between the German shipyard and the British design studio.

Peter Lürssen, Lürssen’s CEO, stated: “Every yacht we build asks something new of us. Working with RWD on Odisea allowed us to push new boundaries in both engineering and arrangement. The result is a yacht designed entirely around modern life at sea. She is a proud addition to our fleet.”

RWD commented: “The collaboration between RWD and Lürssen has been driven by mutual respect, the client’s vision and a shared ambition for excellence. The result is a yacht that speaks to quiet confidence, considered design and truly elegant liveability.”

According to Lürssen, the exterior profile of Odisea is characterised by “a vertical bow and purposeful lines”, combined with “expansive glazing” that “dissolves traditional architectural boundaries”.

The shipyard revealed that the interiors of the 2,397GT yacht feature natural tones, soft woods and pale marble for an “understated yet warm” palette, with curated artworks adding finishing touches.

Odisea’s design stands out for its flexible spaces. The sundeck includes a jacuzzi, drinks bar, fire pit and dining area for up to 20 guests, and can transform from an open-air entertaining space to an enclosed skylounge. On the main deck, the glass-encased Beach House space is also openable on three sides.

Described by the yard as designed for “family-oriented living, Odisea features a sports court adaptable for basketball, pickleball, yoga or pilates. There are also two outdoor cinemas, a teak-lined swimming pool and a watersports area equipped for activities such as diving and fishing.

Following Lürssen’s modern design protocols, Odisea has been fitted with a compact exhaust with a patented SCR system to significantly reduce NOx emissions while underway.

Lürssen is currently working on a second collaboration with RWD – the 102.4m Project Jassj – which is also due for delivery later this year.

Impressive line-up for third Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit

Two months ahead of the third Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit in Japan, organisers have revealed an impressive early line-up of topics and panellists.

Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit 2025

With Kobe hosting the third Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit from May 7-8, organiser SuperYacht Times revealed a rich range of topics and a strong line-up of speakers two months ahead of the event.

Following two previous editions in Hong Kong, the event’s move to Japan – home to more than 21,000 ultra-high-net-worth individuals – reflects increased industry focus on the country’s expanding superyacht infrastructure and cruising potential.

La Suite Kobe Oceans Garden, Kobe

Bringing together owners, operators and industry leaders, the two-day forum at La Suite Kobe Oceans Garden will examine how markets such as Japan are evolving and what’s required for the region to support more consistent, year-round superyacht activity.

Kobe as a regional gateway for superyacht operations

This panel will explore the development of Kobe’s marina and associated superyacht facilities, assessing how improved infrastructure, services and regulatory access may strengthen the city’s role as a gateway for yachts operating in Japanese waters.

Speakers include Koji Kinoshita, President and CEO of the Hotel New Awaji Group, representing the Awaji Island Tourism Association (DMO), and Nigel Beatty of Yachtzoo, also Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Association (APSA) and a key figure behind the Superyacht Base Kobe marina due to open in 2027.

Developing Japan as a superyacht destination

Recent amendments to regulations governing foreign-flagged yachts have begun to reduce long-standing barriers to entry in Japan. This session will explore how these reforms, combined with infrastructure investment and destination development, are influencing cruising patterns and the country’s broader appeal to visiting superyachts.

Yukio Shintani, founder of Creation, one of Japan’s leading yachting companies, is among a strong line-up of speakers including Kenta Inaba (President & Partner, Super Yacht Logistics Japan), Kirk Patterson (President, Konpira Yacht Services) and Yoshiteru Sakaguchi, Director of the Chugoku-Shikoku Office in Japan’s Ministry of the Environment.

Why international shipyards are investing in the Asia-Pacific

Several international shipyards have expanded their presence in the Asia-Pacific region in recent years. This panel will examine the strategic motivations behind that investment and how these builders evaluate the region’s long-term commercial potential.

Erwin Bamps (CEO, Gulf Craft Group), Enrico Chiaussa (CCO EMEA-APAC, Azimut), Nick Stratton (Chief Sales Officer, Sanlorenzo Asia Pacific) and Sarah Flavell (Marketing Manager, Damen Yachting) form a high-profile panel.

Refit readiness in Asia-Pacific: Infrastructure and capability for large superyachts

The number of superyachts active in the Asia-Pacific has risen steadily in recent years. After 372 unique yachts were recorded as either based in or visiting the region in 2022, the total increased to 445 in 2023 and 530 in 2024, reflecting double-digit annual growth.

As activity expands, so too does demand for maintenance, repair and major refit works. The panel will assess whether local yards have the infrastructure, technical expertise and workforce capacity to support larger yachts year-round, and examine whether gaps in capability may continue to push vessels towards established refit hubs elsewhere.

Q&A with Michael Breman, Sales Director at Lürssen

Breman will draw on his experience working with Japanese clients to discuss how cultural expectations, communication styles and decision-making structures influence the sales and ownership process.

How superyacht purchasing patterns are evolving in Asia-Pacific region

As wealth demographics shift and new generations of owners enter the market, purchasing behaviour across the Asia-Pacific is evolving.

Angel Zhou (third left) of Benetti and Julien Solari (seated) of Camper & Nicholsons

This panel will explore how client expectations, usage patterns, brokerage practices and financing structures are changing, and what these developments mean for builders, brokers and service providers seeking to engage buyers in the region. Panellists include Angel Zhou (President of Sales for Asia, Benetti) and Julien Solari (CCO Asia, Camper & Nicholsons).

Developing marinas for superyacht operations in Asia-Pacific region

As more superyachts cruise the region, marina infrastructure is becoming a prerequisite for sustained growth.

This panel will examine how developers and operators are both building new facilities and upgrading existing marinas to accommodate larger yachts, from berth depth and shore power to technical services and crew amenities, and assess what operational standards are required to support consistent superyacht activity across the Asia-Pacific.

Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit 2025

Building in Asia-Pacific: Can regional yards compete globally?

The number of superyachts constructed in the Asia-Pacific region has increased steadily over the past decade, driven by growing domestic demand and expanding technical capability.

This panel will examine whether regional shipyards can compete with established European and American builders across key areas including design, engineering standards, build quality and after sales support. Chris Blackwell, Sales & Marketing Manager of Australia’s Echo Yachts, is among confirmed speakers.

Q&A with Gunter Pauli

Pauli, author of The Blue Economy and owner of the 35m solar-powered, carbon-fibre Porrima (formerly PlanetSolar and Race for Water), will discuss Japan’s growing importance in the yachting sector and the development of its maritime ecosystem.

The Prestige F4.3 made its Asia-Pacific premiere at this year’s Auckland Boat Show, where the 43ft flybridge model was displayed by New Zealand dealer Orakei Marine. The F4.3, the third model of the refreshed F-Line, had its world premiere in 2025 and was reviewed by Yacht Style in Issue 85.

The F4.3 on show in Auckland was pre-sold. Orakei Marine, led by Jason Snashall, staged a christening ceremony at the show, which was attended by Tanguy Tertrais, the Hong Kong-based Asia-Pacific Sales Director for Prestige and Jeanneau.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the arrival of this exciting new model. It was our privilege to officially welcome the new owners of this stunning new F-Line model to the Prestige family.”

The F6.7, the flagship of the new line, is scheduled to have its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival from September 8-13.

Tertrais said: “From the compact yet luxurious F4.3 to the flagship F6.7, the new F-Line delivers a seamless Prestige experience, tailored to each owner’s vision of life on the water. Our Asia-Pacific owners expect yachts that are as capable and comfortable as they are easy to enjoy. The F-Line meets that expectation with generous living spaces, intuitive handling and modern design that simply works for family cruising in Asia.
