Galeon releases 520 Fly

Successor to the iconic 500 Fly, the all-new 520 Fly has completely reconfigured outdoor areas and boasts a 22ft wingspan with the balconies out.
Galeon has debuted the 520 Fly, the long-awaited successor to the pioneering 500 Fly ‘transformer’ that launched in 2015 and popularised the Polish shipyard’s iconic Beach Mode featuring drop-down sides on the main deck. Galeon, which is represented in Asia by Asiamarine, staged the world premiere of the 520 Fly at this year’s Palm Beach International Boat Show in Florida.
The distinctive exterior styling is by Tony Castro, whose UK-based studio has been working with Galeon for well over two decades. With an overall length of 56ft 5in, the all-new 520 Fly is over 3ft longer than the 500 Fly, which had an upgrade in 2024.
With twin inboards, each up to 725hp, the Category B yacht has a top speed of up to 30 knots, while tank capacities include 1,800 litres for fuel (depending on engine choice) and 650 litres of fresh water.
While keeping and upgrading popular features like the drop-down sides, sliding saloon doors and waterside bar to port, the 520 Fly features significant layout changes to the cockpit, foredeck, flybridge and accommodation.
The 520 Fly has just one set of steps from the full-beam hydraulic platform, allowing the cockpit to include a larger C-shaped sofa. On the main deck, the beam of 15ft 2in (6in wider than the 500 Fly) expands to 22ft following deployment of the drop-down sides, which Galeon describes as “fully re-engineered for smoother and more intuitive operation”.
On both sides of the saloon are long sliding doors. These combine with the balconies to offer a fold-out bar counter with two bar stools to port, and open-air views to starboard, where the interior sofa has a fold-down backrest that allows guests to sit and face the sea.
The flybridge has been transformed and is most notable for an impressive row of four helm and passenger seats, while forward is a full-width sunpad area with backrests. Aft of the seats is an outdoor galley to port and wet bar to starboard, while a C-shaped dinette occupies the aft-port corner.
The foredeck has also been completely rethought, replacing the 500 Fly’s C-shaped seating area with a foldable, high-low table surrounded by a forward-facing sofa-cum-lounger and two aft-facing corner sofas.
The interiors, developed with InSitu & Partners headquartered in Hong Kong, feature comfortable headroom, refined ambient lighting and abundant storage. The layout includes a U-shaped aft galley and a raised forward saloon, where an L-shaped dinette to port faces a starboard settee and a sofa-style helm station.
The photos show the studio’s Amber decor from the Mediterranean palette “inspired by warm, rich tones and sophisticated contrasts”. High-gloss lacquered finishes are paired with brass-toned accents, refined detailing and premium fabrics.
The lower deck include a full-beam master suite midships with an en-suite bathroom to starboard. The forward VIP – lit by large hull windows and two skylights – has en-suite access to a second bathroom shared by guests in the third cabin to port, which can have twin berths or a double bed due to a sliding-bed system. Aft is an option for a skipper’s cabin or a tender garage.
Marta Śledziewska, Galeon’s Head of PR & Marketing, said: “The 520 Fly is a very important model for us and for the future of our flybridge range. She combines the design language that our clients recognise with a new level of space optimisation, functionality and refined detailing.”
The 520 Fly represents the latest addition to Galeon’s Flybridge collection, which ranges from the 360 Fly to the shipyard’s flagship 800 Fly. All Galeon models are built at the shipyard’s second-generation, family-owned shipyard in Gdańsk, where more than 2,800 yachts have been delivered since 1996.
