Axopar has debuted the open Sun Top version of the Axopar 38, the all-new successor to the hugely popular 37 that has sold over 3,000 units. In late April, the Axopar 38 won the Motoryacht 10-12m category at the Yacht Style Awards in Singapore based on the enclosed Cross Cabin version that premiered at Boot Düsseldorf in January.

In early May, Yacht Style attended the Axopar 38 Sun Top’s global debut in Mallorca. The open model with twin Mercury Verado outboards was shown in two versions: with 300hp V8s and a wet bar on the aft deck, and a Brabus Line edition with 350hp V10s and a U-sofa aft.

Two enclosed Cross Cabin versions were also on show. One included 300hp V8s and a wet bar aft, while a Brabus Line edition with 350hp V10s featured the aft cabin option. All Axopar 38 models feature a twin-stepped, sharp-entry V hull, supported by an overbuilt stringer system.

In contrast to the Cross Cabin version, the Sun Top edition has a half-height windscreen and a hardtop with a sliding canvas roof. For potential enclosure, roll-down canopies are among the boat’s many options.

Optional activity wings

The open design naturally connects the mid-section with the aft deck, where familiar options include a bench sofa, wet bar or an aft cabin covered by a sunpad. The Sun Top’s reimagined mid-section is offered as standard with rows of three and four sports seats each side of an athwartships table.

Mid-section upgrades include an aft sofa and bulwark seats, a forward-facing U-sofa with high-low table and sunbed infill, and a driver’s sofa with reversible backrest and flip-up bolsters.

Aft bulwark options include fenderbox bench seats and drop-down sides or ‘activity platforms’, while the main cabin forward can include gullwing doors covered by sunpad cushions. The bow includes a forward-facing sofa, while options include a sun lounger extension or an aft-facing U-sofa with high-low table.

Below deck, the front cabin with skylights includes the Axopar 38’s increased headroom, new kitchen module and optional enclosed toilet with shower.

The Axopar 38’s Cross Top edition, with a forward-tilting windshield for added protection from the sun, is set for its world premiere at Cannes Yachting Festival 2026 from September 8-13.

Axopar, which designs in Finland, manufactures in Poland and employs about 1,000 people, has sold over 7,600 boats since its founding in 2014, and last year recorded a turnover of €170.4 million.
