Nautor Swan is returning to the 22m segment with the Swan 73, designed by Germán Frers, Luca Ardizio and Cecilia Perotti’s Blend Studio.
Nautor Swan, owned by Sanlorenzo Group since 2024, has revealed details of its Swan 73, which is due to launch in 2027 and marks the Finnish shipyard’s return to the 22m segment after two decades.
The yacht’s 22.47m hull has a 6.12m beam and is built in vinylester-infused fiberglass laminate with sandwich structures and local carbon reinforcements. The 39-tonne yacht has an overall length of 23.67m, a waterline length of 21.23m and a 3.2m draft, as well as a 3,237sqm sail area and 8.5 tonnes of ballast.
The Swan 73 features concept, design and naval architecture by German Frers, the Argentine veteran who has worked with Nautor Swan since 1980, while Luca Ardizio of Milan-based Ardizio Design handled the exterior design and layouts, which include an asymmetrical cockpit.
Antonio Santella, Senior Advisor to Nautor Swan’s New Product Development division, explains: “From the earliest sketches, the intention with Luca Ardizio was to create exterior lines that reflect the purity of Germán Frers’ hulls, combining elegance and fluidity with a refined balance of form, proportion and performance.”
As well as slim, efficient hull lines and a twin-helm navigation area set up for short-handed sailing, the Swan 73 has an asymmetrical cockpit featuring an offset companionway, allowing for a portside dinette that can be converted into a large sunpad. Options include a rigid roof that allows the social area to alternate between a panoramic veranda or a fully enclosed, climate-controlled ‘winter garden’.
Fore and aft of the mast are sunpads. The foredeck can be shaded by an elegant Arabian-style tent and has space to accommodate a large tender. At the stern, the beach club features an extendable swim platform and a lazarette capable of carrying a 2.8m rigid-keel RIB.
The interiors are by Blend Studio, a Milan-based company founded by Patrizia Manconi, Sara Cerboneschi and Cecilia Perotti, daughter of Massimo Perotti, Sanlorenzo Group’s owner and Executive Chairman.
Owners can choose three or four cabins, including a master cabin with an enlarged en-suite or walk-in wardrobe. Interiors are finished in Canaletto walnut and light-toned soft furnishings.
Cecilia Perotti, Blend Studio’s co-founder, said: “The project draws from the heritage of Swan yachts, reimagined through a contemporary lens. The result is a space defined by soft transitions, curved geometries and a harmonious flow.”
