Reaching well over 40 knots, the catamaran builder’s 45 Sport is the largest model in Aquila’s popular line of open outboard cruisers.
Aquila debuted its 45 Sport at Palm Beach International Boat Show 2026, introducing the largest model in a range that started with the 36 Sport (2017) and 32 Sport (2019). The double-stepped hull, built using a vinylester vacuum infusion process, and twin 600hp Mercury Verado V12s produce top speeds above 43 knots and efficient cruising from 25-35 knots.
Designed with Florida-based Yacht Design Works, the CE B yacht measures 46ft 6in overall and has a beam of 15ft that expands to 19ft 4in when the hydraulic side terraces are deployed. Between the engines, an integrated slide-out stainless-steel swim ladder with teak steps provides access to the water. The yacht’s draft of 3ft 5in is reduced to just 2ft when the engines are lifted.
The aft deck has an aft-facing C-shaped dinette with an adjustable table that can be lowered and covered to create a large sunbathing area. This area can also be sheltered by an awning that can electrically slide out from the expansive hardtop, which has integrated racks designed to store watersports equipment.
Below the hardtop is a forward-facing C-shaped dinette and a transverse galley with optional barbecue and television installations.
The driving area has four helm seats, each with arm rests and a flip-down bolster cushion. Technology includes three recessed 16in chart plotters, a Fusion Apollo marine stereo system, CZone 5in display for onboard DC digital switching and monitoring the optional lithium house battery system to power the off-grid DC air-conditioning system, plus LED underwater and above-deck lighting.
The foredeck, accessed by the port side deck, has a wide, forward-facing sun lounger with flip-down armrests, cup holders and phone storage. The central bow hatch provides access to the anchoring system, while side hatches provide storage for fenders and dock lines.
Starboard of the helm is the entrance to the cabin, which has a forward-facing double bed, skylights and a private bathroom with open shower. Other details in the cabin include LED accent and reading lights, upholstered panels, ample storage and AC power outlets.
Jean Raas, Chief Product Officer and CEO of Aquila USA, said: “Versatility is key to the 45 Sport. It’s built for hosting large groups through to private weekend getaways; fast cruising through to relaxing at anchor.
“Space onboard is abundant and both the bow and stern are social hubs designed to create special moments and lasting memories. It’s a perfect balance of comfort and performance with incredible features for entertaining. We are very proud of this model.”
