Princess Yachts is staging the world premiere of the C48 and the North American debut of the X90 at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (October 28-November 1) in Florida.

The British builder’s impressive eight-boat display also includes the V50 cruiser, S65 sportbridge, F58 and F65 flybridges, the Y72 from the Y Class of larger flybridge models, and the X80 from the enclosed-flybridge series.

The C48 represents Princess’s entry into the centre-console and day boat market. The C48 at Bahia Mar is the Open version of the model and includes the option of four helm seats instead of the standard three.

Hull one is fitted with the most powerful propulsion option, with three 600hp Mercury Verado V12 petrol outboards delivering a top speed of 50 knots. Options include 400hp V10s for a top speed of 46 knots, or inboards, with twin 480hp Volvo Penta D6 diesel engines delivering 34 knots.

The C48 hull is by Michael Peters and incorporates the American’s patented Stepped Vee Ventilated Tunnel (SVVT) technology. Princess and long-standing partner Olesinski developed the exterior, while the styling and interiors are by the shipyard’s in-house design team led by Andy Lawrence, Executive Director of Design and Development.

The C48 is also available in an enclosed Deck Saloon version, also offered on the same hull platform and with the same three engine options. The Open version has a hardtop and a fully open main deck with an aft sunpad, forward-facing seating with table, and manually operated drop-down folding sides to port and starboard.

The outdoor galley is equipped with forward and aft wet bars, an electric grill, drawer fridge, sink and generous storage. The foredeck adds another versatile space, with seating positioned both forward and aft.

Below deck, the C48 Open on show at FLIBS features forward and aft cabins, although options for the forward area include a lower saloon with convertible dinette and optional galley.

The X90 is another attraction as the model debuts in the US following its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. Sitting between the X80 and X95, the new addition to the high-volume, ‘super flybridge’ line has an overall length of 89ft, a 21ft 8in beam and main-deck master suite and either three or four guest cabins on the lower deck.

Will Green, CEO of Princess Yachts, stated: “Fort Lauderdale is an important event for Princess, and we’re delighted to bring two significant new yachts to North America alongside a strong representation of our wider portfolio. The C48 represents an exciting new direction for Princess, opening the brand to a new audience. It is a bold addition to our portfolio and one we’re particularly excited to introduce.

“The X90 takes a very different approach, building on the success of our X Class with exceptional interior volume, innovative design and impressive long-range cruising capabilities. Together, these two yachts demonstrate both the breadth of our offering and our commitment to developing products that meet the evolving expectations of our customers.”
