Cantiere del Pardo will debut the first unit of its new Grand Soleil Plus 80 Long Cruise model, Bianca II, at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival from September 8-13. Matteo Polli handled naval architecture of the Plus 80 LC, which features an overall length of 86ft, while Nauta is responsible for the exterior styling, interior design and layout of Grand Soleil’s new flagship.

Franco Corazza, the Project Manager of Grand Soleil’s Plus line, stated: “In true Grand Soleil tradition, the GS Plus 80 LC has been built entirely in-house, from lamination through to launch.”

Using Polli’s expertise in racing yacht design, Bianca II features a narrow bow for smooth entry into the water, a telescopic keel offering a variable draft from 2.9m to 4.4m, and optional twin rudders for precise handling while underway. Bianca II’s sailing performance is also improved by a fully integrated hydraulic system for managing deck operations.

Bianca II’s adaptable sail plan ensures her readiness for cruising in any conditions, with the fixed bowsprit configured for two gennakers with an optional staysail and inner forestay. When not under sail, Bianca II is powered by an electric propulsion system developed by Torqeedo.

Polli explained: “For the Grand Soleil Plus 80 Long Cruise, we focused on keeping the centre of gravity as low as possible, optimising the placement of all major systems. Designing the hull lines for an 80ft yacht is a challenging task, made even more complex by the variety of systems configurations an owner might choose.”

Massimo Gino, Nauta’s CEO, agreed that “an 80ft yacht is among the most demanding sizes to design” as it “must encompass the qualities, functions and features typically found on yachts ranging from 95-100ft”. Gino added that Nauta “meticulously optimised the freeboard heights, interior spaces and cabin sizes, integrating all necessary equipment and accessories in every area”.

Below deck, Bianca II offers four guest and two crew cabins. Common spaces are complimented by large windows, providing guests with 270-degree views, while warm oak furnishings create what the shipyard has described as a “contemporary atmosphere” across the interior.

At the Cannes show, Bianca II will debut in the Sailing Area in Port Canto alongside the Grand Soleil 60 Long Cruise, also designed by Polli and Nauta. grandsoleil.net
