Baglietto launches 60m flagship

SHARE

The Italian shipyard has launched the first unit of its biggest yacht to date, designed by Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini.

Baglietto, T60, La Spezia, Italy, Francesco Paszkowski, Margherita Casprini, Gavio Group, Amadi Lagha, Edoardo Rixi, Marco Bucci, Giacomo Raul Giampedrone, Pierluigi Peracchini, Andrea Cantadori, Sebastiano Salvo

Baglietto launched its flagship T60 in the presence of the owner and leading local and regional authorities. The first unit of the T60 represents the largest yacht ever built by the shipyard in its long history, since 1854.

The 60m, 1,100GT motoryacht is designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design, who also developed the interiors in collaboration with Margherita Casprini.

As well as the owner and his family and friends, attendees included the shipyard’s top management and the Gavio Group, owner of the brand. Civil, regional and military authorities were also in attendance.

VIPs included Edoardo Rixi, Italian Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport; Marco Bucci, President of the Liguria Region; Giacomo Raul Giampedrone, Regional Councillor for Civil Protection, and La Spezia officials including Pierluigi Peracchini (Mayor), Andrea Cantadori (Prefect) and Sebastiano Salvo (Chief of Police). Also present was Lorena Bianchetti, already godmother of the shipyard’s 170th anniversary, along with representatives of the Armed Forces.

Following speeches by the shipyard’s management, Mayor of La Spezia and President of the Liguria Region, tenor Amadi Lagha sang the Italian national anthem, Il Canto degli Italiani, before the yacht’s godmother performed the traditional bottle-breaking ceremony. The sound of trumpets then marked the moment when the yacht touched the water.

The ceremony was open to all Baglietto employees and their families, while numerous children from local primary and middle schools were also present.

Diego Michele Deprati, CEO of Baglietto, said: “This launch represents an extraordinary milestone for our shipyard and for all the people who work every day with passion to support Baglietto’s growth. A launch is always a moment of great emotion because it crowns years of work and marks the realization of a dream, the owner’s dream, which becomes our own. The emotion is also fuelled by the awareness of having written another milestone in the history of this glorious shipyard.

“A special thought goes to the many young people who attended the ceremony. We must look to them when we speak about the future of yachting: to their ideas, curiosity and ability to imagine the sea as a place of work, innovation and beauty. Our task is not only to build ever more ambitious yachts but also to create opportunities and skills for the new generations who will carry this tradition forward.”

The T60 represents an evolution of the T52, with highlights including full-height windows – fully retractable and entirely openable – in the main saloon and upper deck. The main saloon, dining room and beach area are conceived as one large, interconnected environment.

A beach lounge of approximately 60sqm, featuring a pool, bar, conversation area and gym, welcomes guests upon arrival and leads to the main saloon through an open staircase. The result is a two-level space of nearly 100sqm, complemented by a dining room with a fully opening glass wall.

On the first T60, the entire upper deck is dedicated to the owner. The owner’s suite is accessed from a central lobby where a glass elevator is also located. The suite includes a private office, walk-in wardrobe and a large bathroom with separate facilities. The sleeping area is surrounded by opening windows on three sides that lead directly to the private forward pool.

Aft, the lounge area opens onto the outdoor dining table through fully retractable glass walls. The private deck includes a Jacuzzi and a large sunbathing area.

Guest accommodation includes four cabins on the main deck — two VIP and two guest cabins — while a fifth cabin is located on the lower deck. The same deck also houses a massage room, a large galley designed for haute cuisine, and the crew quarters with crew mess, dinette and seven cabins for a total of 13 crew.

The wheelhouse is positioned on the sundeck, where the captain’s cabin, an additional dining area and large sunbathing areas both forward and aft are also located. The garage, situated at the bow of the main deck, can accommodate a 23ft tender, two jet-skis and a rescue tender. A touch-and-go helicopter platform is also located forward.

The T60 is equipped with two CAT 3512 engines that provide a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. The tank deck is dedicated to technical and service areas including storage spaces, a wine cellar, luggage storage and cold rooms.
