Ferretti Group has been given approval to expand one of its production halls at its Superyacht Yard in Ancona, enabling the group to extend to its maximum yacht-building capability from 90 to 100m.

The Group announced the expansion plan following the authorisation of the first Single ZES (Zone Economiche Speciali or Special Economic Zone) in the Port of Ancona. Approval was secured in just 54 days.

Stassi Anastassov, Ferretti Group’s Global CEO, said: “This is exactly what I want Ferretti Group to stand for: ambition, speed and execution. In just 54 days, we secured the authorisation to take our Ancona shipyard to the next level. This is what happens when industry and institutions share the same determination to move forward.”

Expansion of the hall at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard is expected to take approximately six months. According to Ferretti Group, the estimated initial economic impact on the local area will be about €30 million, underlining the significance of the development for Ancona, capital of the Marche region on the east side of central Italy.

Created to support economic development through administrative simplification and investment incentives, the Single ZES was introduced in eight Southern Italy regions in 2024 before expanding to Marche and Umbria from late 2025. Anastassov, who began his CEO role in May 2026, was full of praise for the collaboration between Italy’s public and private sectors.

“The Ancona Superyacht Yard is a remarkable centre of shipbuilding expertise, and this expansion is another step towards unlocking its full potential. I want to thank the Port System Authority, the Marche Region, the City of Ancona and the ZES authorities for their commitment and collaboration. When Italian excellence meets ambition and speed, extraordinary things become possible.”

The west side of the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard is home to CRN superyachts and all metal builds under the Riva, Pershing and Custom Line brands. Custom Line’s composite yachts are produced on the east side of the nearly 80,000sqm facility on Italy’s Adriatic Coast.

To date, CRN’s biggest project is the 86m M/Y 144, designed in collaboration with Vallicelli Design and due to launch in 2027. Following the upcoming expansion, Ferretti Group will be able to build yachts up to 100m, enabling it to compete with the biggest yacht builders in Italy, Germany and the Netherlands.

“Our ambition is not simply to build bigger yachts. It is to build the world’s most desirable yachts, setting new standards in design, quality, technology and innovation. And we want to do it here, in Italy,” Anastassov said.

“Made in Italy is not a marketing slogan for Ferretti Group. It is our identity, our heritage and our future. Our brands are Italian, our craftsmanship is Italian and our commitment to Italian industrial excellence is unwavering.”
