Sanlorenzo has revealed photos and details of the first 74Steel, Silver Fox, ahead of its world premiere at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show (September 23-26). Silver Fox was launched in late 2025 and was delivered to her owners earlier this year, while hull two, Virtuosity, splashed in La Spezia a few weeks ago.

Built in steel and aluminum, the 74Steel has a volume of about 1,900GT and is the flagship of the Italian shipyard’s Superyacht range, which also includes the Alloy (44.5m), 50Steel, 52Steel, 57Steel and 64Steel.

Zuccon International Project, Sanlorenzo’s long-time collaborator, is responsible for the 74Steel’s exterior lines. The platform is engineered to an overall length of 72m, but the first three orders are of slightly different length because each has a different bow shape, with hull one featuring a vertical bow.

“This project marks a decisive change of scale in floating architecture,” says Bernardo Zuccon, Architect at the Rome-based studio. “The exterior design is the outcome of an extensive process of stylistic research, through which we embraced a dimension never before explored by the shipyard – a true expression of machines à habiter, to quote the famous words of Le Corbusier.”

The first two units have a diesel-electric propulsion system, while the third has conventional in line shaft-propulsion. 

Engineered with Siemens Energy, the diesel-electric propulsion system relies on six variable-speed Volvo Penta – Mase generators driving twin Schottel E-Pods of 1,000kW each. The hybrid setup includes water-cooled Lehmann Cobra battery systems employing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell technology, offering a combined 1.5 MWh capacity.

The new propulsion system diesel-electric provides more freedom in terms of layout, making it possible to repurpose technical spaces for recreational areas, evident in the expansive beach club and spa areas.

In addition, the yacht’s HVAC system utilises Variable Air Volume (VAV) technology to regulate the amount of conditioned air delivered to different zones based on real-time temperature and occupancy needs.

In terms of layouts, Silver Fox includes a sundeck with a transparent glass windbreak under the hardtop, and a 300sqm owner’s deck including over 130sqm of interior space. The bridge deck has a 56sqm wheelhouse, a foredeck that can be used as a touch-and-go helipad, a skylounge and alfresco  dining aft.

The main deck features a lounge and indoor dining area with sliding glass doors on both sides, while forward are five guest cabins – a full-beam VIP, two doubles and two twins. The open aft deck is dominated by a large glass-bottomed pool that illuminates the beach club below.

On the lower deck, the beach club and wellness area features a gym with fold-down platform, massage room, sauna, hammam plunge pool, and a family room for younger guests, while a transom door can fold flush into the swim platform and fold-down bulwarks. Two midships garages house a 10m Pascoe limo tender, crew tender and water toys.

The interior design is by Francesco Paszkowski in collaboration with Margherita Casprini, while each subsequent order has different interiors and customised layouts.

On Silver Fox, the interiors are dominated by matte wood finishes, while more eclectic materials bring vibrancy and uniqueness to the various spaces. Each en-suite bathroom features a different variety of marble with colours and textures that are carried through into the artwork on board. The furniture pieces are characterised by pronounced curves, and are complemented by rugs with sinuous shapes.

Paszkowski said: “Each new project with Sanlorenzo is a source of great pride for us. The 74Steel marks another milestone in a long-standing collaboration that continues to evolve through increasingly ambitious undertakings.

“In this case, the owner placed particular emphasis on the interiors, and our work focused on translating those requests into spaces of refined elegance and functionality, while maintaining a constant dialogue with the stylistic codes and classic details that define Sanlorenzo’s identity.”
