Oceanwalker bought by Sea Expandary

Richard Liu’s Sea Expandary acquires majority equity stake in China’s Oceanwalker Yachts.

Oceanwalker S60

Sea Expandary, the yacht brand founded by JD.com chairman Richard Liu in February 2026, has completed the acquisition and closing of an 80 per cent equity stake in Oceanwalker, as reported by SuperYacht Times.

Established in 2022 in China, Oceanwalker is a yacht brand promoted by the Fujian Skywalker Yacht shipyard, which operates in Fujian. The brand features a product lineup which includes the Oceanwalker S60 catamaran.

The acquisition aims to help Sea Expandary expand its manufacturing capacity, fill gaps in its conventional hull design, enhance its smart manufacturing footprint, and leverage Oceanwalker’s existing global channels to accelerate international expansion.

Backed by an exclusive dealer network, Oceanwalker operates in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The acquisition will allow Sea Expandary to bypass the lengthy incubation phase of manufacturing and fast-track the company’s goal of building a full green smart yacht industry chain.

Sea Expandary was launched earlier this year and was reported to involve an investment of approximately US$700 million in Guangdong, spanning research and development, manufacturing, sales, operations, leasing, brokerage and after-sales services.

Plans were outlined to establish a yacht manufacturing base in Zhuhai, with Sea Expandary’s headquarters expected to be located in Shenzhen.
