Bespoke spatial concept for second Sanlorenzo 74Steel

Sanlorenzo, Studio Paolo Ferrari and the yacht’s owner collaborated to “rethink onboard architecture” for Virtuosity.
Sanlorenzo has revealed details of Virtuosity, the second 74Steel, which has a living tree rising through two decks and a submerged aquarium integrated into the hull. Built on the same engineered diesel-electric platform as the first 74Steel, which was launched in October 2025, the yacht was commissioned with Fraser and features exterior lines by the Zuccon International Project studio.
While Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini handled the interior of hull one, Virtuosity features interior architecture and design by Studio Paolo Ferrari, which has collaborated with the owner and the shipyard for over four years to create “a fully bespoke spatial concept”.
Tommaso Vincenzi, Sanlorenzo’s CEO, said: “With this yacht, we chose to rethink onboard architecture from its very foundations. The 74Steel Virtuosity represents a decisive step forward in the way we conceive space on board.
“From the integration of living nature to the transformation of technical volumes into experiential environments, every choice stems from a clear architectural vision. Innovation here is not about excess but about coherence and balance.”
The spatial innovation is evident at the aft end of the main saloon as a Ficus Nitida rises through an oval void to the upper or bridge deck, where the top part of the tree can be seen from the dining area on the aft terrace.
On the lower deck, the beach area – or ‘Ocean Resort’ – extends 18m from the platform to the first bulkhead, features fold-down side platforms and exceeds 230sqm in area, making it about 40 per cent larger than the first 74Steel. As well as the open sides and transom, the interior is also illuminated by natural light streaming down through the 28sqm glass-bottom pool on the aft main deck.
The lower deck also includes a wellness area with a hammam, sauna, massage room and cryotherapy. However, arguably the most innovative zone is the 35sqm aquarium, which is essentially a partially submerged glazed section of the hull, offering seated guests views above and below the waterline.
On the owner’s deck, a forward ‘reflecting pool’ features removable seating and a sensory shower. On the sundeck above, the external profile has been reinterpreted to enclose the gym while maintaining opening glazing at the bow, stern and sides.
Paolo Ferrari, who founded Studio Paolo Ferrari in 2016, said: “Our collaboration with Sanlorenzo on Virtuosity proposes a fundamentally new vision for life at sea. Interior architecture and custom furnishings were developed in parallel with the ship itself, while at its centre, a living tree rises through a vertical opening.
“Inspired by the tonal atmosphere of the Mediterranean, the material palette reinforces clarity, proportion, and restraint. Driven by an uncompromising commitment to innovation, the 74Steel reflects our belief that a yacht can transcend function and become something more experiential and more human.”
