Atelier Invictus and designer Fabio Rotella update the Italian shipyard’s flagship, which will be on show at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
Invictus will unveil the ST550 Deep Horizon – an exclusive new interpretation of the flagship by Atelier Invictus – at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival from September 8-13. The Italian shipyard debuted both the enclosed ST550 and open TT550 at the 2025 show in Cannes, where this year its Vieux Port display (PAN 224-015) will also include the TT460, TT420 and GT320.
For the Deep Horizon concept development, Atelier Invictus collaborated with architect and designer Fabio Rotella, evolving a research path that began with the TT460 Shell Edition, a Boot Dusseldorf 2026 world premiere.
Rotella said: “I’ve always considered the yacht as one of the most authentic ways to experience the relationship with nature. I don’t see it as a simple extension of living spaces but as a living organism capable of interacting with water, wind and light. This vision has guided a design research process focused on an essential form of luxury, one that enhances materials, light and the relationship with the sea.”
The Deep Horizon edition reinterprets the ST550 model through a new vision centred on materials, light and the relationship with the sea, further expanding customisation opportunities through tailor-made aesthetic and functional solutions.
At the heart of this creative philosophy is Atelier Invictus, the shipyard’s design laboratory where design, material research, craftsmanship and technical expertise come together to transform each concept into a unique product, expressing Invictus’ identity and design culture.
Paolo Avellone, Head of Atelier Invictus, said: “Atelier Invictus is organised into specialist areas dedicated both to aesthetic customisation and technical solutions. Professionals with experience in fashion and industrial design collaborate with our team to develop increasingly innovative solutions.
“With the ST550 Deep Horizon, we wanted to offer a new interpretation of one of our most representative models: a project that preserves Invictus’ distinctive character while enhancing it with refined materials, dedicated finishes and an even higher level of customisation.”
Natural wood essences, tactile surfaces and exclusive fabrics have been developed specifically for the ST550 Deep Horizon. Silk Georgette in the guest bathroom and Portoro Gold in the master bathroom express Atelier Invictus’ continuous research into sophisticated surfaces and craftsmanship.
The same philosophy extends to the exterior areas, where high-performance technical fabrics – developed exclusively for this project and enriched with original patterns – help create a connection between interior and exterior.
“The hull and deck colours were also defined through a meticulous aesthetic research process,” Avellone adds. “For ST550 Deep Horizon, we selected a cool grey hull contrasting with a pearlescent white deck.”
Following the Cannes Yachting Festival, the Invictus ST550 Deep Horizon be on display at the Genoa International Boat Show in Italy from October 1-6.
