Boot Düsseldorf 2027 halls selling out

The ‘world’s largest yacht & watersports show’ is gearing up for a premiere-packed 2027 edition featuring a slight rearrangement of exhibition halls.

Organisers of Boot Düsseldorf expect the 58th edition of the indoor show to feature about 1,000 boats and over 1,500 manufacturers, retailers and destinations exhibiting in Messe Düsseldorf. Halls 1, 3, 5 and 6, all for motorboats, and Hall 13, dedicated to diving, are fully booked more than two months ahead of the 2027 show, which will be held across nine days from January 23-31.

The organising team also expect over 200,000 visitors, with attendances topping that mark for the past two editions, having been as high as 250,000 in 2020 before a three-year hiatus. About 70,000 of the visitors are expected to come from over 110 countries outside Germany.

Petros Michelidakis, the show’s Director, said: “In 2027, Boot will impress with an enormous variety of models, watersports and travel inspiration. We are once again expecting over 1,000 different boats and yachts. Manufacturers are clearly drawn to Düsseldorf with their product portfolios. In recent years, they have been able to close deals and win new customers despite a general slump in orders.

“In economically challenging times, a business driver such as Boot is a key factor in revitalising the market. We see ourselves as a partner to the international industry. We pick up on current trends and provide the platform to present exhibitors to a large, interested and knowledgeable audience.”

This year, the show will be spread over 15 halls instead of the usual 16 due to a two-year upgrade of Hall 9, which is the first hall to the east after entering from the venue’s main north entrance. A wide, covered walkway through Hall 9 – used during this year’s Caravan Salon Düsseldorf (August 28-September 5) – will ensure visitors can safely access Halls 10, 11 and 12.

Michelidakis added: “We are, of course, designing the walkway in the ‘Boot’ look and feel, making it attractive for our guests. Our new hall layout ensures a quick route both for visitors wishing to move from Halls 4 and 5 to the eastern halls and for those entering via the north entrance.”

The Hall 9 closure has resulted in a rearrangement of some of the eastern halls. Halls 10 and 11 include engine, technology, equipment, accessories, refit information, clothing and accessories. Surfing and paddling exhibitors, along with the zone’s famous 65m ‘XXL’ pool and a high-rope climbing park, are moving to Hall 12, which organisers have billed as the “action hub of Boot 2027”.

Diving is once again in Hall 13, whilst the ‘Destination & Boat Life’ segment in Hall 14 showcases charter operators, houseboats and marinas for holidays by and on the water. Halls 15 and 16 are again dedicated to sailing.

Exhibitors with RIBs (inflatable boats) and dinghies/tenders that typically exhibited in Hall 9 will exhibit in Hall 17 and form part of the show’s Motorboat Walk, which will lead west to Hall 1 and northwards through Halls 3 and 4.

Halls 5 and 6 will again host ‘superboats’ (luxury dayboats) and ‘superyachts’ (the show’s largest motoryachts) respectively, with Hall 7a home to brokers and designers, and Hall 7 showcasing maritime art.

“Our booking situation for motorboats, superboats and superyachts is once again excellent. We have used the past summer months to hold many face-to-face discussions addressing the individual requirements of the exhibitors,” Michelidakis said.

“The excellent communication with manufacturers and dealers is the foundation that underpins the international success of boot Düsseldorf. In 2027, we will once again welcome exhibitors from almost 70 countries. This booking situation is unique worldwide.”
