Luxardo conceives Green Promenade

Italian designer Antonio Luxardo has released designs for a plant-inspired walkway connecting the aft top deck to the beach club.
Antonio Luxardo has conceived and designed Green Promenade, which is presented as a series of plant-lined aft decks linked to each other by a meandering, sloping exterior walkway for guests.
Created for owners who spend extended periods on their yacht, the design revolves around what the Italian designer describes as “architectural promenades” and a system of “sinuous ramps [that] seamlessly and continuously links the decks, integrating expansive green spaces into the yacht’s design”.
“Green Promenade reinterprets life at sea by breaking down barriers and placing nature at the very heart of the yachting experience,” stated Luxardo, who co-founded Optima Design in 2004 with Michele Zignego.
“From a technical standpoint, the integration of flora – even of significant size – is supported by advanced water-management systems that recycle water until it is completely exhausted. Plant species are specifically selected for their resilience to saline environments. Furthermore, the design allows the garden to be mirrored indoors, offering perfect stylistic and functional continuity.”
Green Promenade is part of an ongoing research and development journey led by Luxardo. The designer’s studies focus on three main pillars: fluid mobility throughout the yacht, the functional fusion between indoor and outdoor spaces, and the identification of new living habits driven by technology and the evolving culture of modern owners.
“The goal of this research is to plant the seed for an advanced and increasingly conscious nautical future,” Luxardo said.
