Ultimate Catamarans presents Q140

SHARE

A collaboration between the German shipyard, designer Antonio Luxardo and artist Marcapiano, the 42m aluminium powercat offers bespoke interiors and custom artwork.

After previewing its Q140 at the 35th Monaco Yacht Show, Ultimate Catamarans is scheduled to next showcase the designs and a scale model of the 42m ‘supercat’ at this year’s Dubai International Boat Show (November 25-29).

Antonio Luxardo designed the exterior and interior of the 140ft trideck along with the three other models – Q110 (32m), Q170 (52m) and five-deck Q200 (62m) – in Ultimate Catamarans’ four-strong Q-Line series of aluminium powercats.

Like its sister models, the Q140 is distinguished by Luxardo’s sculpted, flowing exterior, while a huge open aft upper deck can be used as a helipad and provides cover for the open aft main deck below.

With a 15.5m beam, the four-deck powercat offers 472sqm of outdoor area and 427sqm of indoor space, which the shipyard compares to that offered on many 60-65m monohull superyachts.

Interior proposals include the option of a private owner’s deck aft of the bridge, offering an exclusive retreat with exceptional privacy, uninterrupted views and complete separation from guest areas.

The main saloon can offer an impressive 86sqm of living space, allowing architecture, design and art to coexist on a significant scale. Interior proposals include the work of Marcapiano, the Italian sculptor, painter and engraver already active within the yachting and luxury sectors.

However, the layouts and interior decor can be extensively personalised for each client, with each project developed around the individual requirements and lifestyle of its owner. Marcapiano is also available to create custom art projects for clients, conceived in collaboration with the yacht’s designers and architects.

Among the works selected for the Q140 interior proposals is ‘Vita’, a sculpture by Marcapiano positioned within the main saloon, where its fluid, ascending form reveals different perceptions as light and viewing angles change.

Erica Broilo, Marcapiano’s Art Director, said: “True luxury today means being able to own something that exists for no one else. An artwork should not simply be placed aboard a yacht: it should enter into dialogue with its architecture, its light, the sea and, above all, the person who will live with it. This is the philosophy behind Marcapiano’s unique and fully bespoke works for luxury projects.”
