Following September’s premiere of the Sport Tender 35, the Swedish shipyard will unveil the enclosed Sport Coupé 35 in Germany in January.
Nimbus – whose dealers in Asia include Asiamarine – plans to stage the world premiere of the Sport Coupé 35 at the 58th edition of Boot Dusseldorf, which will be held in Messe Dusseldorf from January 23-31, 2027. In terms of exterior lines, the enclosed Sport Coupé 35 has a forward-raked windscreen, as on the Swedish builder’s 495 Coupé.
The Sport Coupé 35 is the second model built on the Swedish builder’s 35ft air-lubricated twin-stepped hull, with the series kicking off with the open Sport Tender 35 that debuted at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival in September. In Mercury Marine’s sea trials, the Sport Tender 35 reached 48.5 knots with twin 300hp Mercury Verado V8 outboard engines.
The Sport Coupé 35’s outboard options include the twin 300hp Mercury Verado V8s or a single Mercury Verado V10 (350hp or 425hp). There’s also an inboard option (480hp Volvo Penta D6), which includes a larger bathing platform with stowage, and a big locker under an extended sunbed.
The aft cockpit, covered by a roof overhang fitted with glass panels, includes an L-shaped sofa and a table. The aft sofa is fitted with an adjustable backrest, so can be used by guests to face the sea when needed. To starboard is a side balcony and an extra-wide side deck with a side gate, while the port side has a slimmer, raised passage.
A sliding glass door leads to the interior, which is covered with a sliding sunroof. The starboard side includes the galley and helm, where the skipper benefits from Mercury Joystick Piloting and an integrated bow thruster, as well as a side door. Owners can choose the option of a drop-down TV in the ceiling.
To port is a dinette with folding table and a forward sofa with an adjustable backrest, so it can used for dining or as companion seating during passage. The dinette can be converted into a double berth once the table is lowered and covered. Below deck is a forward cabin, storage and a bathroom with shower.
The foredeck includes a forward-facing lounging area with a low backrest, while the bow features wrap-around seating and optional backrests attached to the side rails. A high-low table can be lowered and covered by an in-fill to make this into a lounging area.
Jonas Göthberg, Commercial Director and Brand at Nimbus, said: “Historically, the Coupé is what Nimbus is best known for. Our Coupé owners live with their boats, with family and friends, all season long, so the cosy things matter to them.
“Cooking up in the saloon with everyone around, a lounge to sink into at the end of the day, a canopy that closes in moments when the rain comes in. That is peace of mind. The Sport Coupé brings all of it to the 35 series, and it is a seriously good-looking boat.”
