The first Custom Line yacht with an exterior by SY Design, the Saetta 128’ has entered the water at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Italy.
Custom Line has launched the first Saetta 128’, the brand’s first model featuring exterior lines by Matteo Sassone and Veronica Yien of SY Design, a Bologna-based studio. The 39.8m, sub-300GT trideck joins a planing line featuring the Saetta 106’ and Saetta 140’, which feature exteriors by Francesco Paszkowski and interiors by Margherita Casprini.
Sassone and Yien, whose exterior design features trapezoid-inspired styling, were among many attendees at the launch of the Saetta 128’ at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona.
Chiara Massarani, a Partner at ACPV Architects (co-founded in 2000 by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel), was also among guests. The Milan studio designed the Saetta 128’ interiors, having worked on Custom Line’s Navetta 30 (2020), Navetta 38 (2024), Navetta 35 (2026) and the aluminium alloy Custom Line 50 (2024), the brand’s flagship.
The first Saetta 128’ features ACPV’s ‘Perfect’ mood and includes lacquered finishes in chocolate and mocha tones, walnut and maple wood varieties, white marbles such as Sivec, and ivory wallpaper with a three-dimensional texture. Custom Line Atelier provided support in the development of the interiors, defining the style and bespoke solutions.
In terms of layout, the main deck features a 33sqm aft cockpit that leads into the 40sqm saloon and dining area. Forward, the owner’s suite includes a dressing area and en-suite bathroom.
The upper deck is home to a 20sqm skylounge, which opens aft onto a 40sqm terrace. The 25sqm foredeck features a spacious sofa with built-in storage and a sunbathing area which – due to a new deck layout – can include a hydro-massage tub.
The 30sqm sundeck is dedicated to alfresco relaxation, with sunloungers and free-standing furnishings. The lower-deck layout features a beach club, three VIP suites and one guest cabin, while the crew quarters in the bow can accommodate six crew members including the captain.
The new Saetta – meaning ‘lightning’ or ‘bolt’ – has two 2,638hp MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, which give a top speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 19, based on preliminary figures. The yacht can be certified according to IMO Tier III regulations by implementing a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, which reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by up to 70 per cent.
