The German shipyard has commented on its 100m-plus fleet around the world following the deliveries of six yachts in the first half of 2026.

Following six deliveries this year, Lürssen has announced that it has now built more than 30 units longer than 100m and is responsible for more than a third of the world’s yachts in this size range.

After the delivery of Odisea (78m), announced in March 2026, the German shipyard has since handed over five 100m-plus builds: Deep Blue (134m), Boardwalk (117m), Nausicaä  (114m), O3 (109m) and Nixie (102m), which is set to make her global debut at the Monaco Yacht Show from September 23-26. Each yacht has departed northern Germany and begun cruising different parts of the world.

According to Lürssen, it takes around four years of disciplined craftsmanship and acute project management to orchestrate the hundreds of thousands of manufacturing hours required to bring each vessel to life.

Peter Lürssen, the shipyard’s Managing Director, said: “Delivering six yachts in a single year is a remarkable achievement, and the commitment of everyone involved deserves enormous credit. Our role is to create the environment, expertise and engineering capability to make ideas possible. Engineering is a balance of technical expertise and creativity – the diversity of this year’s deliveries demonstrates that perfectly.”

Each of the six yachts was developed around its respective owner’s vision. Nausicaä reveals futuristic styling by Australian industrial designer Marc Newson and includes a large glass Skydome, while the more traditional Boardwalk features a first for Lürssen: a sliding hatch and retractable stairwell on her main deck.

O3 is engineered for the extremes with an inventory to support expeditions and the lifestyle amenities to ensure comfort for extended periods. Nixie’s notable features include a cabana lounge with a 6m-wide pool, while its diesel-electric propulsion system is comparable to that on the 122m Kismet.

Michael Breman, Lürssen’s Senior Sales Director, stated: “Every conversation with a new or long-standing client always starts with a blank canvas. It is exciting. No two owners imagine the same future, and no two Lürssens should ever be alike. That is what keeps us looking forward. Every project is an opportunity to push the boundaries a little further.”

The hull of Benetti’s Custom 80 (FB291) has arrived in the shipyard’s Livorno site. With the main structures completed, the 80m superyacht has now entered the outfitting phase in Livorno, the Azimut|Benetti Group’s hub for large steel builds, ahead of the yacht’s launch scheduled for 2028.

Both the interiors and exteriors of the six-deck yacht were designed by Cassetta Yacht Designers to accommodate the owner’s specific requests.

Benetti has described the project as one of its “most strategically important projects”, stating: “The realisation of this unique Custom 80M epitomises Benetti’s engineering and construction approach. The project highlights the shipyard’s ability to translate complex requirements into highly customised naval solutions, combining design flexibility and superior manufacturing capabilities.

“The yacht demonstrates the efficiency of the production chain and the synergy between the Group’s various sites. In this operating model, the Livorno shipyard confirms its position as a key industrial asset, structured to manage the outfitting of highly complex vessels and consolidate the brand’s positioning in the custom megayacht segment.”

Benetti designs, builds and sells composite vessels from 34-44m across its Class, Motopanfilo, Oasis, B.Yond, B.Neos ranges, plus superyachts in steel and aluminium from 37m to more than 100m under the B.Now, B.Loft and Custom lines.

CL Yachts has completed sea trials of the first CLB65 SUV, which delivered a top speed of 28 knots at half load with twin 1,136hp Cat C18 engines. As part of comprehensive testing validating the yacht’s performance, handling and onboard systems, optional features such as the ZF JMS control system were tested and shown to enhance the yacht’s manoeuvrability and ease of operation.

The 19.7m model – which is also offered with Volvo Penta D13 engines – is now in Hong Kong, having been built at the shipyard’s production facility in nearby Zhuhai in mainland China. A coupe version of the CLB65 flybridge motoryacht, the CLB65 SUV combines the practicality of a two-deck layout with the performance, comfort and build quality associated with CL Yachts’ B-Series,

The cockpit, galley and saloon create a continuous living area on the main deck, while the lower deck includes a full-beam master stateroom, a VIP cabin and a convertible guest cabin. The model features interiors by Supertomato Studio that include natural materials and understated detailing, with owners able to select walnut or white oak finishes.

Martin Lo, Director of CL Yachts, said: CLB65 SUV is a major step in the ever-evolving journey of our brand. With its dynamic exterior, owner-oriented interiors and robust performance, CLB65 SUV embodies our commitment to innovation, functionality, and contemporary yacht design, making it perfect for year-round exploration.”

Bluegame will stage the world premiere of its BG64 at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival from September 8-13.

The shipyard has described the latest addition to its fleet as “the missing link in the BG range”. Conceptualised by Luca Santella, Bluegame’s founder and Head of Product Strategy, in collaboration with the Zuccon International Project design studio and American naval architect Louis T. Codega, the BG64 is designed to bridge the gap between the BG54 and the BG74.

The result is a 20m motor yacht that melds the seamless indoor-outdoor layout of the BG74 with the optimised engineering platform of the BGX63. As Santella describes: “The BG64 represents more than a new model. It is the moment the Bluegame family becomes complete.”

Commenting on the development of the new model, Santella further detailed that “the BG64 delivers the same architectural openness, versatility and connection with the sea that define our larger models, while introducing those qualities to a new generation of owners”.

Design highlights of the BG64 include a main deck that can be fully enclosed to offer comfortable cruising in all climates, while the helm station is separated from guest areas for optimum privacy. The spacious bow lounge can also transform into a sunbathing area, dining space or private lounge.

Other notable features include a lateral opening terrace to starboard, a generous swim platform and a port-side crane for a highly functional layout. Up to 14 guests can be accommodated on board during the day, with four berths for overnight stays.

The new model will be the first released under the leadership of Bluegame’s new CEO, Gianguido Girotti, who commented: “While I have the privilege of introducing her to the world as CEO, this yacht is the result of years of vision, creativity and dedication from the entire Bluegame team.”

Girotti added that the launch of the BG64 “represents an important milestone for Bluegame” as it marks the brand’s “strongest-ever portfolio” and the fulfilment of its promise to offer “a Bluegame for every Bluegamer”.

According to the shipyard, three units of the new BG64 have already been allocated ahead of the yacht’s debut in Cannes. “The confidence shown by owners even before her world premiere has been tremendously encouraging,” Girotti noted.

The 35 Sport has a 14ft 9in beam and features the same bold styling as the 45 Sport in a more compact package, which includes a double-stepped hull and two 300hp Mercury Verado V8 engines or 400hp Mercury Verado V10s.

The successor to the Tanna 47, the new 48ft sailing catamaran combines a total sail area of 134sqm with Fountaine Pajot’s optimised ODSea+ propulsion system for cleaner power. Solar panels that can generate up to 2,300W of renewable energy have also been integrated into the roof of the FP48, further emphasising the brand’s commitment to sustainable cruising.

Described by the yard as a model “for owners seeking freedom, comfort and long-range cruising”, the FP48 is defined by expansive living areas with a seamless flow throughout the vessel. Outdoor lounging areas are offered in the foredeck and the lounge deck on the coachroof, while the integrated helm station keeps the skipper at the heart of the action even while underway.

A key feature is the 3m sliding aft glass door, which can be opened to create one large living space connecting the cockpit and saloon.

Large windows and colour palettes inspired by natural shades create an airy and modern feeling on board, with Fountaine Pajot proudly identifying that the Millesime 2027 design scheme features fabrics made entirely from recycled materials.

Headquartered in Viareggio, Next Yacht Group owns Maiora and AB Yachts

Next Yacht Group, which includes the Maiora and AB Yachts brands produced in Viareggio and Massa, has effectively acquired 100 per cent of Siman. Founded in 1988 and with industrial facilities in La Spezia, Pisa and Massa, Siman is a specialist in mechanical engineering, propulsion systems, and refit and maintenance services for yachts up to 60m in length.

Siman also operates in the commercial maritime and defence sectors, with a significant portfolio of ongoing contracts including major projects for the Italian Navy.

The purchase of Siman was by Continental Investment Srl, an entity under GB Invest Holding AG, which founded Next Yacht Group in 2021 and is a specialist in IT, AI and luxury hospitality. Prior to the purchase of Siman, Next Yacht Group employed more than 130 professionals, having increased its workforce by 140 per cent over the past four years.

Following the recent acquisition of Siman, employment continuity has been secured for the company’s 70 direct employees. Over the coming months, Next Yacht Group plans to recruit up to 30 additional employees, while Siman is expected to add about 15 new positions.

The integration of Siman will enable Next Yacht Group to expand its production capacity while establishing a new division dedicated to the construction of metal superyachts, further strengthening the Group’s direct control over a fully ‘Made in Italy’ production chain.

New metal yacht projects for both Maiora and AB Yachts are already under development, while the first 50m Maiora is currently under construction. The first new models will be unveiled by the end of 2026, according to Next Yacht Group.

Alongside the acquisition, an industrial development plan has been launched, supported by a total investment of €20 million, of which €11 million has already been deployed. The plan aims to enhance production facilities, consolidate the order book and achieve full profitability by 2027.

Mario Petroni, Chairman of Next Yacht Group, said: “The acquisition of Siman represents a natural evolution of our industrial growth strategy. This transaction expands our manufacturing capabilities in the strategically important metal yacht segment while strengthening a highly specialised Italian industrial supply chain. At the same time, it creates new opportunities for growth, innovation and employment.”

Lürssen’s 102m Nixie – the German shipyard’s sixth delivery since March 2026 – is among world premieres expected at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, based on an ongoing list updated by show organisers. Set to be berthed at Quai Rainier 1er, Nixie is designed inside and out by RWD, and available for charter through Edmiston.

Show organisers also stated that Oceanco’s 111m Leviathan, a 2025 delivery, would also be at the September 23-26 show, which is again expected to feature about 120 superyachts in Port Hercule.

Toby Moore, CEO of Informa Prestige, organiser of the Monaco Yacht Show, said: “What this fleet offers a client exists nowhere else in the world. In four days and in a single harbour, you can walk the decks of 43 yachts delivering this year (2026), stand alongside the yards that built them and the brokers who will charter, manage or resell them.

“At a time when a new commission at a leading shipyard means waiting until 2028 or beyond, that concentration of near-term fleet, builders and brokerage expertise in one place, once a year, is the first and most concrete benefit the show delivers to yacht clients.”

As well as Nixie and Leviathan, recent deliveries in the show’s provisional line-up include the first Amels 80, Pangea, and the ninth Amels 60, QU2, both exhibited by parent company Damen Yachting.

Sanlorenzo 74Steel Silver Fox

Sanlorenzo will display its first 74Steel, Silver Fox, a world premiere, as well as a 58Steel (2024). The 71.5m Feadship Vanish (2021) and 77.7m Malia (2023) by Golden Yachts of Greece will both be exhibited by Burgess.

CRN will stage the Europe debut of the 67.5m Amor à Vida, while other yachts from Ferretti Group brands include the first Riva 54Metri, making its global debut, and the Custom Line Navetta 35 following its scheduled premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival earlier (September 8-13).

Benetti will show a B.Now 67M at the show for a second successive year, following the launch of two new units in early 2026, as well as a new B.Now 50M. Azimut, also part of the AzimutƖBenetti Group, will show its first Grande 44M following the model’s scheduled debut at Cannes, and also display a Grande 30M and Magellano 30M.

Baglietto, another leading Italian shipyard, is staging the world premieres of its Fast50 (50m) and T60 (60.6m), while other debuts include GX Superyachts’ first GX42 Merinos, the Sirena Superyachts 42M and the Majesty 145 from Gulf Craft Group. Next Yacht Group is exhibiting AB Yachts’ AB110 and Maiora’s M|38, both 2026 deliveries.

Catamarans include the first Sunreef 100 Eco sailing catamaran, Ipharra II, a global debut, and Fountaine Pajot’s Thira 80, as well as Lagoon’s Eighty 3 powercat, set to debut at Cannes.

Ares Yachts’ 62m Simena (2026) and Vitters’ 44.3m Magic (2025) are among sailing boats, which will include the second Swan 128, Raijin, launched this year, and the Grand Soleil Plus 80 Long Cruise (Bianca II) following its debut at Cannes.

When launch day arrives and it is time to hit the water, a well-maintained yacht that is clean, protected and looking good is the goal for any proud owner or refit yard.

Aside from aesthetics, proper maintenance is the key to optimal performance, both above and below the waterline. The many benefits include improved hull efficiency, enhanced reliability and safety, and reduced need for costly repairs during the season, all of which can help to retain the boat’s value.

To achieve these positive results, a structured plan is essential. When cutting corners is simply not an option, AkzoNobel’s global network of specialists and Yacht Paint Application Centers (YPAC) are available with local support to facilitate efficient processes and minimise costly errors and comebacks for yards and professionals.

From hull inspection and repair to fouling control and final finishing, among many other project critical considerations, AkzoNobel offers complete coating systems, compatible products, technical advice on product selection, application techniques and cure windows, as well as training options designed to ease pressures for yards.

Whether hauling out for a seasonal upkeep or re-launching, AkzoNobel is a consultative partner for the full maintenance cycle with a two-phase approach for a smooth sailing season.

Phase 1 – Haul-out and repair

With the yacht ashore, the groundwork is tackled methodically with clear access to every part of the hull.

When cleaning and inspecting the hull, AkzoNobel recommends starting from the top, pressure washing the topsides, working down to the underwater hull, and removing any surface contamination and fouling, before scraping back loose or flaking coatings.

A thorough cleansing of the hull with a specialised International® or Awlgrip® cleaning product will sweep off salt smears, as well as dirt and general grime. This is the time to check for cracks in the gelcoat or flaking paint that may need monitoring or repair. If the gelcoat appears dull or chalky, consider buffing, polishing or repainting.

Signs of osmosis including any blisters that may weep a fluid resembling vinegar should be treated. Also, it is a good idea to examine the keel and rudder for impact damage, cracks or sections where the coating may have become loose. When addressing and grinding out the affected areas thoroughly, ensure they are fully dried out after treatment.

It is good practice to take moisture readings with a hull moisture meter, particularly on fibreglass. If they come back high, AkzoNobel suggests letting the hull dry out fully before coating, since sealing moisture in is a common cause of blistering. If needed, it is the time to book insurance surveys or professional inspections.

When assessing necessary repairs to the hull or appendages, it is recommended to replace or reseal skin fittings, to prime exposed or bare areas, and service outdrives, sail-drives, and other underwater running gear.

Using products from AkzoNobel’s International® yacht coatings range, owners can tackle a range of maintenance and repair tasks during the lay-up period.

For cast-iron keels, AkzoNobel recommends washing and grinding back to bare metal before applying a few coats of Primocon®, a vinyl-based primer, early to protect the keel while ashore, which makes re-coating easier.

Any rudder damage, especially at the lower edges, should be addressed by drilling out low spots for moisture to escape, allowing to dry thoroughly and sealing GRP rudder damage with Primocon®. For shaping or filling, apply Epifill® filler. Once cured and sanded, reseal with multiple coats of Interprotect®.

For steel, aluminum and composite hulls, Interfill 830, a special two-component, light grey, epoxy that fills gaps of up to an inch without sagging, is perfect for profiling above and below the waterline.

It is best to empty, dry and clean lockers, storage areas and bilges for the final task of the first phase – interior and timber care. While skin fittings are being renewed, refresh bilge or locker coatings with Bilgekote® for lasting protection.

AkzoNobel also recommends removing lift-out timber items – cockpit seating, sole boards, hatches – to prep them somewhere sheltered. If conditions are dry, it is an ideal time for varnishing.

Phase 2 – Re-launch prep

The focus now turns to protection and finish.

Fouling control is one of the most important maintenance tasks. Firstly, the current condition of the antifouling coat should be assessed and, if paint is flaking or heavily built up, consider stripping it back. Sand and prepare the surface before applying new fouling control paint, which must be selected carefully based on local water conditions, vessel type and usage.

If switching brands, check compatibility charts to confirm that the new paint will adhere correctly. Primocon® can be applied over most pre-existing coatings. International and Sea Hawk offer a comprehensive range of antifouling solutions for different water and boat types. Review the paint guides and compatibility charts on the websites for specific product and application advice.

A yacht’s topside needs protection against UV damage and oxidation, due to the constant exposure to a harsh environment and cleaning chemicals. The benchmark professionals trust, the Awlgrip® product line is renowned for offering the highest-quality finish and performance topcoats.

For a buffable, polishable and repairable finish, use Awlcraft 3000, the next generation of high-gloss premium acrylic urethane topcoats, or Awlgrip HDT (High Definition Technology), an advanced polyurethane coating delivering improved flow and excellent finish quality.

The One UP® and Toplac® Plus system from International® offers faster application, with fewer coats required for a professional finish. The enhanced UV protection helps maintain colour and gloss for longer, while a smoother, glossier finish eliminates the need for tipping with a brush.

For a lasting finish with great chemical and abrasion resistance, Perfection Pro can be used as an ultra-high gloss topside paint with strong colour retention.

Damen Yachting has announced the sale of the second Xplorer 60, which is scheduled for delivery in 2028 and marks the company’s third sale in a year with TWW Yachts. Featuring naval architecture by Damen Yachting, exteriors by Azure and interiors by H2 Yacht Design, the 197ft Xplorer 60 has 1,160GT of interior volume and includes accommodation for 12 guests and 16 crew plus captain.

Last year, TWW Yachts also sold the first Xplorer 60 (After You) and a Yacht Support 53 (Emotional), which were both built at Damen Yachting’s shipyard in Antalya, Turkey, and delivered simultaneously to the same owner in the summer. Both yachts were exhibited at last September’s Monaco Yacht Show by Damen Yachting and TWW Yachts.

The second Xplorer 60 has been sold to an owner with a strong ambition to explore beyond conventional cruising grounds. The yacht will support a programme that brings together private adventure and the opportunity to facilitate scientific research in some of the world’s most remote regions.

“This is the second consecutive Xplorer acquisition on which we have represented the owner with Damen Yachting, reflecting both the strength of the design and the growing appeal of the range,” stated Alex Heyes of TWW Yachts.

“The owner brought a clear vision for how the yacht should support his fleet and future programme. Working closely with the owner, his representatives and Damen Yachting, we were able to align the yacht with that intended use.”

As well as the Xplorer 60, Damen Yachting’s fleet of Xplorer yachts also includes the Custom Xplorer 62 Anawa, Xplorer 77 La Datcha and the Xplorer 58 Pink Shadow, with all models designed for owners seeking the capability to go further, stay longer and explore more remote regions.

Jorrit Pilaar, Damen Yachting’s Commercial Executive EMEA, added: “This recent sale is a strong endorsement of the Xplorer 60 design and of the momentum we are seeing across the Xplorer range. Owners are increasingly looking for yachts that can take them further and support a more varied programme. For this owner, the Xplorer 60 proved to be the right platform.”
