Sunreef Yachts, which has two production facilities in Poland and one in the UAE, has announced the sale of the first Sunreef 35M Eco, which joins the builder’s long list of superyacht projects. The 35m sailing catamaran has been sold to a client introduced by Y.Co, which will also charter the yacht following a three-year build.

Francis Lapp, Sunreef’s founder and President, said: “The Sunreef 35M Eco heralds a new era of silent, emissions-free cruising. With our cutting-edge green technologies, this yacht delivers a sustainable yet supremely comfortable way to explore the oceans.”

The 35M Eco follows the sale of multiple units of the 43M Eco sailing catamaran and is among the shipyard’s newest superyacht projects. In the 2025 Global Order Book published by Boat International, Sunreef is listed ninth on the builders of 24m-plus yachts, with 33 projects at an average of 28.7m.

The Sunreef 35M Eco is another Eco model offering emissions-free cruising capabilities, advanced technology and luxurious design. The yacht will feature electric engines, custom-engineered batteries, and solar panels fully integrated into the hull, superstructure and bimini.

“This milestone marks a new chapter in sustainable luxury yachting, as demand for eco-responsible catamarans continues to rise globally,” Sunreef stated.

Featuring a 14.7m (48ft) beam, the yacht offers expansive interiors including a large, open-plan saloon with a dining area to port and large bar to starboard, while forward is the owner’s suite with private access to a bow terrace featuring integrated sunpads. The hulls or lower deck include four guest cabins, three crew cabins and the main galley.

The flybridge boasts a plunge pool and alfresco lounge, while the beach club or ‘Ocean Lounge’ includes a hydraulic central platform, large transoms either side, and drop-down platforms, as well as direct access to water toys and diving gear.

Two symmetrical stairways lead to the cockpit, which features an aft-facing C-shaped sofa and a flexible coffee table that doubles as the garage access, while forward is a covered dining table.

Benetti’s Veranda Deck concept

Azimut-Benetti Group is the leading builder of 24m-plus yachts by total length according to the 2025 edition of the Global Order Book, which Boat International produces based on data from 185 shipyards on five continents.

It marks the 25th successive year that Azimut-Benetti has topped the builder’s list. The Italian shipyard is listed as having 164 units under construction for a total of 5,905m, which corresponds to about 20 per cent of the 24m-plus yacht market under examination by the Global Order Book.

Giovanna Vitelli, Chair of Azimut-Benetti Group, said: “Twenty-five years at the top of the sector represent a true ‘record within a record’. It’s a testament to our unwavering entrepreneurial vision, which is based on an organic, resilient and sustainable growth strategy aimed at creating durable value that lasts over time. This is the privilege and the responsibility of a private family company.”

The data reflects Azimut-Benetti’s record results of the last financial year, which ended on August 31, 2024, with revenues of €1.3 billion and an order portfolio that extends to 2029.

With the Group focused on reducing emissions, Benetti offers hybrid versions of almost its entire range. Currently, a total of 10 hybrid superyachts are under construction at the Benetti shipyard, with seven of the 13 orders for B.Yond superyachts featuring hybrid technology.

Sanlorenzo is second in the Global Order Book with 125 projects totalling 4,448m, Feadship is third with 1,525m, while The Italian Sea Group is fourth with 22 projects totalling 1,356m. Lürssen has 12 projects totalling 1,254m, with an average build of 104.5m.

During the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show, Benetti staged the world premiere of the steel-hulled B.Now 50M and announced it had already sold 16 units, making the 499GT, four-deck superyacht “the most popular 50m model in history”.

At the same show two years later, Benetti’s presentation of three steel superyachts included Asani, a new B.Now 50M with the popular Oasis Deck® option and customised to “reflect the owner’s vision for an inviting, homely and zen-like ambience”.

PLANA (Pier Luigi Ausonio Naval Architecture) designed the B.Now 50M hull in collaboration with Azimut-Benetti Group’s Research & Development Department. Asani has two 1,400hp MAN V12 engines, which deliver a top speed of 15 knots and a range of 4,500nm at 10 knots, while two 118kW Kohler generators and CMC Marine electric stabilisers ensure smooth navigation.

OUTDOOR ZONES

British studio RWD is responsible for the concept and sporty exterior of the B.Now series, which has been spearheaded by the fast-selling B.Now 50M. While the first unit showed off the standard aft design, most of the subsequent orders have specified the Oasis Deck® option, as seen to great effect on Asani.

First seen on Benetti’s Oasis 40M, the signature Oasis Deck® features fold-out aft bulwarks that on the B.Now 50M help provide up to 116sqm of space at the water’s edge as well as 270-degree views, even from the aft end of the saloon.

The three-level Oasis Deck® starts aft with a wide swim platform, while the next level up is dominated by a central, glass-backed pool, two large L-shaped sofas, coffee tables and an infinity view due to the drop-down sides.

Forward on the main deck, the large garage is easy to access through a double hydraulic hatch on the starboard side and can accommodate two jetskis, water toys, a 6.25m tender and a rescue tender.

An aft stairway leads from the upper deck to the spacious sun deck, which has an open aft area dressed with sun loungers. The covered central area is flanked by two large, L-shaped sofas and adjustable coffee tables that can raise and extend into dining tables, while forward is a Jacuzzi offering panoramic views.

INDOOR ATTRACTIONS

The interiors are by Benetti – led by in-house designer Mauro Izzo – in collaboration with Bergman Design House. The British studio worked with the owner and UK-based LASS Studio to select the suppliers, materials and bespoke furnishings, and curate the artwork, styling and finishes.

Asani features works of art by Ula Saniawa of Unit 89, Roi James and Sougwen Chung, a striking Jallu Ebénistes games table by Nusom, and a Mattia Bonetti coffee table by David Gill Gallery.

“Showcasing and celebrating the work of renowned artists and rising stars, numerous pieces of art were commissioned to reflect the themes of nature and the ocean, while bespoke furnishings and accessories were sourced that are pieces of art themselves,” Benetti stated.

“Bringing nature in, vibrant blues and organic forms catch the eye and culminate in a feeling of immense comfort and serenity on board.”

Layout wise, Asani is the first unit in the B.Now 50M line to feature a revision of the main saloon, with generous spaces for entertaining guests. Effectively an indoor continuation of the Oasis Deck®, the saloon features surfaces and furnishings in natural oak and dark wenge-effect detailing.

A large C-shaped sofa on the port side is custom designed by Benetti, while a bespoke rug emulating the movements of ocean waves is among accessories with organic forms and textural details. The striking Elmgreen & Dragset artwork – chosen by the owner – provides a calming focal point, depicting skies in various shades of blue with different cloud formations.

Forward is a transverse dining table for up to 12 guests. Further forward, on the port side, is the galley, from which the crew access their quarters in the forward section of the lower deck, using a separate route with a private stairway to reach the upper decks. There are six cabins for 10 crew members.

On the starboard side, preceded by a day head, the full-beam master suite includes a dressing area, generous private bathroom finished in Calacatta marble, as well as a balcony with an outdoor shower, a custom feature integrated into the model’s original layout.

Above the bedhead, the delicate elements of the custom Ula Saniawa installation travel in a layered and complex swirl. As an embodiment of Asani’s essence, this piece was a source of inspiration for many of the finishing touches on board and the yacht’s branding.

The four guest cabins on the lower deck each have their own private bathrooms, while the finishings and materials echo those on the main deck.

On December 3, 2024, Dragonfly, formerly known as Project Alibaba, left the Lürssen yard in Germany. Dragonfly, a striking custom yacht with a strong-lined, elegant exterior styling by Germán Frers, features interior and exterior social spaces curated by Nauta Design.

“One of the many hallmarks of any Lürssen yacht is the mastery of technical challenges. Dragonfly is no exception,” said Managing Partner, Peter Lürssen. “She is a large, powerful yacht that can cruise efficiently anywhere in the world, fitted with a highly efficient diesel-electric hybrid propulsion concept developed by Lürssen’s in-house engineering specialists.”

Dragonfly, with about 9,500GT of interior volume, features key amenities that include a glass-bottom pool on the main deck, a cinema, a spa, and a watersports centre. She also has a dedicated deck for business: home to a large office, a gym, a games room, and a helicopter hangar.

“The goal was to produce a well-balanced design that emphasises timeless appeal over transient trends,” noted Germán Frers, Chief Executive Officer and Principal Designer at Frers Naval Architecture & Engineering. “Dragonfly is a sophisticated yacht that not only fulfils but exceeds expectations, balancing luxury with practicality that ensures lasting appeal.”

A unique innovation of Dragonfly is the bespoke double-folding platform system at the stern. This innovative system allows the deck above to fold into the platform, creating a spacious and versatile beach club area with direct access to the water.

“It has been an exciting four years of creative work designing this outstanding combination of atmospheres and unique lifestyle,” says Mario Pedol, President of Nauta Design. “Dragonfly offers incredible perspectives and breathtaking outside views – all with a subtle balance of refined elegance.”

Engineered for peak efficiency, Dragonfly is equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system and an electric Azimuth Pod Drive. This system comprises twin diesel engines that drive two controllable pitch propellers through individual gearboxes, fitted with PTI/PTO units for electric propulsion or to generate electrical energy to operate the vessel.

“The Y.CO Project Coordination Team and our Technical Partners are proud to have played a role in realising this iconic project – an extraordinary showcase of design, innovation, and craftsmanship – from concept to delivery,” says Charlie Birkett Co-founder and CEO at Y.CO. “We are happy to welcome Dragonfly into the Y.CO Yacht Management Fleet.”

Dragonfly is the fourth yacht delivered by Lürssen in 2024, marking an exceptional year for the shipyard. With an impressive total length of 485m, the latest deliveries include Luminance (138.8m), Kismet (122m), and Haven (82m).

Ferretti Yachts has presented its new 670, as the Italian builder continues to renew its Flybridge range with interiors by IdeaeItalia. Other upgrades to the model include exterior restyling with architect Filippo Salvetti and layout changes on all three decks.

Retaining an overall length of 20.24m (66ft 5in) and a beam of 5.38m (17ft 8in), the yacht was designed in collaboration with Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee – chaired by Piero Ferrari – and its Engineering Department.

Twin 1,000mhp MAN V8 engines give a top speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots, figures that rise to 32 and 28 respectively with the optional 1,200mhp versions. Two Seakeeper NG6 gyroscopic stabilisers are among other options.

A world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival, the new yacht is a renewed version of the Ferretti Yachts 670 that launched during the brand’s 50th anniversary in 2018 and represented its first collaboration with Salvetti, who has since handled the exterior styling of all Ferretti Yachts models.

On the new edition, the aft cockpit and swim platform cover an area of almost 20sqm and offer alfresco dining, comfortable seating, direct access to the water, two spacious storage compartments in the transom and a tender lift for a 3.45m tender.

The 11sqm foredeck, which can be covered by a bimini top, features a lateral sofa and two longitudinal sofas facing each other, plus the option of two tables that can help convert the forward sofas into large sunpads.

Ferretti Yachts, 670, Filippo Salvetti, IdeaeItalia, Ferretti Group, Cannes Yachting Festival, Classic, Contemporary

The flybridge has a similar layout to the first version, but with more seating space in the C-shaped dinette to port, while to starboard is a wet bar. A large aft sunpad is among options. Forward is a sunpad to port and a starboard helm station that can include a Poltrona Frau pilot chair.

The hard top has been completely redesigned with restyled lines and an opening central section, while an electric bimini top is available as an alternative.

The new interiors are by IdeaeItalia, which has worked on all new Ferretti Yachts models since debuting on the entry-level 500, where the studio introduced the choice of “warm, earthy” Classic décor or a Contemporary mood “inspired by the colours of the sea”.

Accessible from the aft cockpit via sliding doors, the saloon features two large facing sofas. There’s also a coffee table by the L-shaped sofa to starboard, and an up-down TV behind the port sofa.

Two wide steps lead up to the dining area, which is to port and has an L-shaped sofa and glass table. To starboard is a galley with a more functional layout and increased storage, while storage has also been expanded in the lounge.

The helm station is equipped with integrated Naviop-Simrad instrumentation and Poltrona Frau chairs, and benefits from a full-width, pillarless windshield, one of the yacht’s standout new features. A helm door leads to the starboard side deck.

Forward, stairs lead down to the lower-deck hallway and one of the yacht’s main attractions – an 18sqm, two-level master suite midships.

The owner’s cabin starts with an elegant private study facing the sea. Steps lead down to a full-beam bedroom with a centrally placed bed, which is flanked by aft doors to a walk-in wardrobe to port and en-suite bathroom to starboard.

The lower-deck hallway also leads to a starboard double cabin and a VIP cabin in the bow, both with en-suite bathrooms. A four-cabin layout is also available, replacing the study in the owner’s cabin with a 4sqm cabin. The crew cabin with bathroom is aft and has private access to the cockpit, with options including access to the engine room through a watertight door.

Primus Marine has been appointed as the new exclusive Thailand dealer for Beneteau and sister brand Excess Catamarans. Beneteau was founded in France in 1884 and is celebrating its 140th anniversary in 2024, while Excess Catamarans was only launched in 2019 as part of the multi-brand Groupe Beneteau.

Founded earlier this year, Primus Marine is led by Howard Prime, formerly the Thailand Country Manager for Simpson Marine, where he oversaw the sales of brands including Beneteau. The French builder’s sailboats include the First, Oceanis, Oceanis Yacht and Figaro ranges, while its motorboats include the Flyer, Antares, Gran Turismo and Swift Trawler series.

Howard Prime, Primus Marine’s CEO and co-founder, said: “It’s tremendously exciting to be partnering with Beneteau for sales and after-sales across Thailand. Having been resident in Thailand for over five years, while working in the industry, I’ve personally delivered many new Beneteau yachts to their owners, ranging from First dinghies and keelboats right up to the flagship Grand Trawler 62.

“Beneteau will continue to flourish in Thailand, which has some of the world’s best cruising grounds. With a competitive racing scene encompassing regattas such as the Phuket King’s Cup, there’s an event for every type of yacht owner. Our team are looking forward to growing the Beneteau customer base and delivering excellent customer services via our offices in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket.”

Beneteau Oceanis 40.1

Following the conclusion of its multi-market representation by Simpson Marine, Beneteau has been creating a new dealer network across Asia. Having appointed Asiamarine for sailboats and NextWave Yachting for powerboats in Hong Kong, as well as Amal Yachting for Taiwan (sail and power), the new partnership with Primus Marine further expands support for customers across the region.

Erwan Her, Beneteau Asia-Pacific’s Sales Director, said: “I’m excited to announce our new partnership in Thailand with Primus Marine, which brings strong sales and after-sales support. With offices across the country, Primus Marine is the perfect partner to represent Beneteau and will not only enhance our presence in Thailand but also improve customer service and engagement.

“We are committed to providing exceptional experiences for our customers, and with Primus Marine’s dedicated team, we can achieve this goal more effectively. Together, we’ll work to build a vibrant Beneteau boating community in Thailand and I’m confident that this partnership will lead to exciting new ventures and a stronger brand presence in the region.”

Excess 13

Primus Marine has also been appointed as the country-wide dealer for Excess Catamarans, the fast-growing sailing catamaran brand launched by Groupe Beneteau and which now produces the Excess 11, 13, 14 and 15 models.

Cosmas Grelon, Asia-Pacific Sales Manager for Excess and Lagoon Catamarans, said: “I am pleased to announce the exclusive appointment of Primus Marine as the representative for Excess Catamarans in Thailand.

“This partnership taps into the potential of Excess in Southeast Asia, and I believe Primus Marine will excel in this role. Despite being a newly established dealership, their team led by Howard [Prime] brings a wealth of experience and is highly motivated to deliver an exceptional customer journey. I am confident that Primus Marine will represent Excess at its best in Thailand.”

Excess 11

Prime said the entry-level Excess 11 was scheduled to arrive in Thailand in January and that the young brand’s sailing cats were ideally suited to exploring the country’s spectacular cruising grounds.

“These catamarans have a dynamic look, remarkable colours and sophisticated lines, and are a joy to sail. This is what new sailors are searching for – Excess is built for them,” he said. “We have some exciting new stock boats arriving in the Kingdom, so we look forward to meeting many of our future customers during 2025 and introducing them to the brand.”

The Sanlorenzo Group has announced its new organisational structure, which has been updated following the acquisitions and integration of the Finland-based Nautor Swan shipyard and the Simpson Marine dealership in Asia-Pacific earlier this year.

The new-look organisation includes a revision of Sanlorenzo Group’s business divisions and an updated list of division and brand leaders who all report directly to Massimo Perotti, the company’s Chairman, CEO and majority owner.

Tommaso Vincenzi has been appointed Executive Director of Sanlorenzo, and will manage and coordinate the company through the Yacht and Superyacht business units, which represent the brand’s composite and metal models respectively.

Vincenzi joined Sanlorenzo’s Yacht Business Unit in 2008. As the division’s COO from 2015 then President from 2022, he was crucial to the company’s strategic development, through the launch of new models, opening of new plants and improvement of production capacity to support the growth of volume, revenue and profitability.

Carla Demaria remains CEO of Bluegame and Giovanni Pomati is still CEO of Nautor Swan. The Sanlorenzo Group’s High End Service and Charter Fleet remains under the responsibility of Luca Cristino, who is also CEO of Simpson Marine Group, which represents Sanlorenzo and Bluegame across Asia-Pacific, and recently opened an Australia office in Sydney.

Vincenzo Soria has been appointed Sanlorenzo Chief Sales Officer, overseeing Sanlorenzo Sales Management, developing commercial strategies across different geographical areas, and aligning brand representatives. Having represented an Azimut dealership in Europe from 2002, Soria founded V Marine in 2014 and has particularly strong commercial experience in Italy, France and Monaco.

Finally, Sanlorenzo Group has created the Corporate General Management division, which has been entrusted to Pier Francesco Acquaviva, who joined the shipyard in 2022 as Group HR Director, also becoming Head of Sustainability in 2023.

After graduating in Economics in 2008, Acquaviva joined Ferrari, where he completed a PhD in International and Comparative Labour Relations, continuing from 2014 at the American multinational company Huntsman before moving to Bonfiglioli.

Attilio Bruzzese remains Sanlorenzo Group CFO and is responsible for preparing the company’s financial statements and overseeing Group AFC, M&A and Investor Relations.

Sunseeker will stage the world premiere of the new-generation Manhattan 68 at the 2025 edition of Boot Dusseldorf, which will be held at Messe Dusseldorf from January 18-26. Held in 16 exhibition halls covering 220,000sqm, the nine-day indoor show is again expected to feature over 1,000 boats and 1,500 exhibitors, and attract over 200,000 visitors.

Sunseeker will display the Manhattan 68 (2025) among its seven models in Hall 6, which features the show’s largest yachts. Featuring an overall length of 69ft 7in and a beam of 17ft 3in, the new Manhattan 68 has a sleeker, more dynamic profile, while all the outdoor areas feature new exterior upholstery crafted from premium materials and available in a contemporary palette.

The redesigned yacht has a new flybridge layout with a larger, more versatile seating arrangement and an ergonomic console with cutting-edge technology. The aft cockpit has been redesigned to offer more functionality and seclusion, benefiting from a built-in privacy screen.

The interior by Design Unlimited includes configurable layouts, with the yacht exhibiting at Boot featuring a four-cabin layout with a private staircase to the full-beam owner’s cabin midships.

Alternatively, the yacht can be configured with a single staircase to all cabins, creating space for an opposing seating group in the main-deck saloon. This layout offers flexibility for a three-cabin configuration with a grander entrance to the owner’s cabin, complete with an office, or it can include a Pullman-style fourth cabin. The Manhattan 68 has a top speed of 31-32 knots with twin MAN engines.

The Ocean 156 had its global debut at the 2024 Southampton International Boat Show in September before its American premiere at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

The Poole builder’s display features other new models including the Predator 55, which had its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival in September. The line-up also includes a Superhawk 55 – which had its world premiere at Boot in 2023 – as well as a Manhattan 55, Predator 75 and a 76 Yacht.
