The participation of Zhuhai industry partners and association builds bridges between two of Asia’s most dynamic marine communities.

“Our premium exhibitors and engaging programming create a unique platform where industry leaders can forge partnerships, and where enthusiasts can discover new horizons. This is more than an event; it’s the cultivation of a maritime community that will shape the future of yachting in our region.”

The show will be open from 10am-6pm each day, with the first day including a 4.30pm opening ceremony followed by a welcome reception. Held from September 18-23, the 65th Genoa International Boat Show attracted 124,248 visitors over the six days, according to Confindustria Nautica (Italian Marine Industry Association), marking a 2.8 per cent growth from 2024.

Figures shared by organisers included over 1,000 boats on display, 123 new products including 96 premieres, and 23 new shipyards among exhibitors from 45 countries. Boosting the show’s international profile, the Italian Trade Agency worked with the Italian Marine Industry Association to organise the attendance of journalists and foreign buyers from over 35 countries and five continents.

Piero Formenti, the new President of the Italian Marine Industry Association, said: “The Italian Marine Industry Association has developed a 10-year programme that has realised the show’s full potential.

“This is a product that the world has been able to admire, displayed in a showcase that must be more visible and more accessible, especially abroad. We work in a marvellous but fragile territory, and it is for this reason that we must be supported by infrastructures that are adequate to the strategic value this event offers the industry and Italy.”

Lagoon, Fountaine Pajot, Bali and Excess were among catamaran exhibitors.

Silvia Salis, Mayor of Genoa since May 2025, said: “This Genoa International Boat Show was the first for me and full of emotions. This is the great international brand of our city, an event that should be protected and constantly nurtured.

“The City Council, Liguria Regional Council and Italian Marine Industry Association need to keep working together for this growth to continue. It’s also important to invest in the ‘Fuori Salone’ (events outside the show), like in the Milan Design Week, by creating a brimming events programme, such as the Rolli days in Genoa, that will extend visitors’ stay.”

“Now the goal is to do even better for the next edition. All of us, starting with the institutions and the companies that make up the sector, must commit to making this the most important boat show in the world.”

Sanlorenzo Asia Pacific has announced the delivery of the region’s first Sanlorenzo SL86A. With more than 80 Sanlorenzo yachts commissioned within Asia-Pacific in the last decade, the arrival of the 26.6m asymmetric planing yacht reflects the Italian shipyard’s continued focus on the region.

Nick Stratton, Chief Sales Officer at Sanlorenzo Asia Pacific, said: “The arrival of the first SL86A in Asia-Pacific represents more than just another delivery – it demonstrates our commitment to bringing the most innovative yacht designs to this vital market.

“The SL86A’s revolutionary asymmetric layout precisely addresses the discerning requirements of our Asian clientele, offering exceptional living space, fluid indoor-outdoor connectivity, and the hallmark Italian elegance synonymous with Sanlorenzo.”

Stratton added that “this milestone further consolidates Sanlorenzo’s standing as the premier luxury yacht brand in the region and paves the way for sustained growth across all APAC markets”.

According to Sanlorenzo Asia Pacific, the design of the SL86A “resonates strongly with Asian owners”. The SL86A has been designed to evoke a seamless flow between the decks, with all stairs hidden from view and floor-to-ceiling windows on the main deck offering panoramic vistas. Twin 2,000hp MAN 12V engines deliver a top speed of 29 knots and a cruising range of 900nm.

The SL86A motoryacht builds on the brand’s Asymmetric concept first introduced with the Chris Bangle-designed SL102A model launched in 2018. Along with the SL86A, the current SL series of composite planing yachts includes the SL90A, SL96A, SL110A and series-flagship SL120A.

Following the arrival of the SL86A, Sanlorenzo Asia Pacific stated that there are more projects currently under construction and due for delivery in the region, which accounts for a “vital share” of the brand’s global order book.

Stratton stated t hat an SL120A is in build for delivery to the region and that Sanlorenzo Asia Pacific is “eager to welcome” the new SL110A, a world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival.

The fourth unit from Damen Yachting’s YS53 series has been sold, with delivery to the owner scheduled for May 2026. The sale was announced just a few weeks after the delivery of hull three, Emotional, which went on to exhibit at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.

Construction on YS5304 is currently underway at the Damen Yachting facilities in Antalya, Turkey.

Jan van Hogerwou, Damen Yachting’s Sales Director North America, said: “This YS53 is the perfect addition to the owner’s existing fleet and provides the extension of facilities the owner is looking to achieve with the addition of a support vessel.

“We would like to thank Stuart Larsen for his collaboration throughout this project. We look forward to the remaining build period as we prepare for delivery in spring next year.”

Larsen, a US-based broker, stated that YS5304 “was acquired by a longstanding client and keen yachtsman who selected her on account of her performance, versatility and aesthetically pleasing design coupled with her green credentials and the ability to carry his ever-increasing fleet of tenders and toys”.

According to Larsen, the 200sqm aft deck on his client’s YS53 will carry a 31ft sportfisher, a 36ft folding trimaran, a 31ft walkaround or RIB, and a 23ft wake boat.

YS5304 is characterised by a military-style inspired profile and an axe bow. The standout feature is a 15-tonne crane on the aft main deck, which is capable of handling heavy-duty tenders and personal submersibles.

Featuring an overall length of 53m and an interior volume of 499GT, the YS53 is designed fully in-house by Damen Yachting as a support vessel for larger superyachts, offering accommodation for eight guests and 11 crew, enormous water toy storage and a helipad.

Other highlights include a swimming pool on the main deck and a bridge deck with an alfresco entertaining space. The model has an extended cruising range of 5,000nm and a top speed of 19 knots.

The sale of the fourth unit follows the earlier deliveries of Bad Company Support 175 (2024), Five Oceans (2024) and Emotional (2025). The fifth YS53 is in build and due for delivery in 2028.

Benetti creating new Oasis flagship

SHARE

The Italian shipyard has revealed details of its Oasis 42M, with RWD and Bonetti/Kozerski collaborating on the 415GT series flagship.

RWD designed the exterior of the Oasis 42M

Developing on the runaway success of the Oasis 40M, which has sold about 30 units, Benetti has revealed the design of its successor, the all-new Oasis 42M, with the first unit scheduled to debut in 2027.

Benefiting from feedback from owners, captains and crew, the new model features an enhanced, enlarged Oasis Deck® and the option of a new full-beam, multi-purpose wellness area forward on the main deck, with the master suite able to occupy the aft end of the upper deck.

The tri-deck superyacht has an overall length of 42.5m

Pierluigi Ausonio again handles naval architecture, with the upcoming model retaining an 8.5m beam but featuring an overall length of 42.5m, which is 1.7m longer or 4 per cent longer than the Oasis 40M (40.8m). The Oasis 42M integrates a data-driven engineering package that reduces fuel consumption and emissions, while a hybrid Siemens E-Mode package offers an even lower-impact option.

RWD, the UK-based studio that has worked on all Oasis and B.Now models, has notably evolved the Oasis 40M’s exterior design for the Oasis 42M. Inspired by contemporary architecture and automotive design, the Oasis 42M has been designed to embody “timeless elegance”, so “ensuring relevance well into the 2030s”.

The Oasis Deck has been enlarged to 100sqm

Mark Gardner, RWD’s Director of Exterior Design, said: “The Oasis 42M is an evolution, not a revolution. Its softer, pebble-like lines create a yacht that feels sleek, natural and enduringly elegant.”

The yacht’s overall volume is 415GT, representing an almost 8 per cent increase compared to the Oasis 40M (385GT), while RWD stated that the window surfaces around the tri-deck superyacht have increased by 20 per cent.

Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, the New York-based architectural firm co-founded by Enrico Bonetti and Dominic Kozerski, has developed upon the interior design created for the Oasis 40M – the studio’s first project with Benetti – but stated that “the focus is still on an open and fluid plan”.

Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture designed the interior

Bonetti said: “In the Oasis 40M, we were excited to bring a fresh eye to the design of a boat that ended up being a groundbreaking step toward a more dynamic and relaxed yachting experience. With the Oasis 42M, we’re very proud we have a chance to create a true evolution of that concept.”

The Oasis Deck® – which has since been offered on the entire B.Now series (50M, 60M, 67M, 72M) – has been enlarged from 80sqm to 100sqm, which is about the same size as the beach club space on the B.Now 50M with Oasis Deck®.

Benetti, Oasis, Oasis 40M, Oasis 42M, 2026, Pierluigi Ausonio, RWD, Mark Gardner, Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, Enrico Bonetti, Dominic Kozerski

The 8.3sqm pool can be covered

On the Oasis 42M, the Oasis Deck® is centred around a newly designed 8.3sqm pool, which Benetti states is “among the largest in this size category”. Among notable new features, the pool can be covered by a sliding deck section beneath the large island sunpad.

The Oasis Deck® also features drop-down bulwarks either side, while a spacious garage accommodates a 6.25m tender, jet-ski and water toys. Another notable change is that the pool-deck level has been raised, so it’s just one step – instead of three – up to the main deck, with most of the rise in height hidden within the huge aft-facing C-shaped sofa.

The saloon can include an aft dining table

Benetti, Oasis, Oasis 40M, Oasis 42M, 2026, Pierluigi Ausonio, RWD, Mark Gardner, Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, Enrico Bonetti, Dominic Kozerski

The interior starts with a saloon that can be configured with aft dining, presenting the option of fresh air and aft sea views across the Oasis Deck®. Forward is a lounge with sofas and a ‘feature wall’ that disguises the port door to the galley and crew areas.

For the Oasis 42M, Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture is also introducing a new range of natural and alternative materials, such as tiles, metal or travertine inserts in the saloon finishes.

A wellness area or cinema are among options forward on the main deck

Benetti, Oasis, Oasis 40M, Oasis 42M, 2026, Pierluigi Ausonio, RWD, Mark Gardner, Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, Enrico Bonetti, Dominic Kozerski

Among the biggest layout changes is the use of the forward room on the main deck. Most often used on the Oasis 40M as the master suite, the Oasis 42M offers the full-beam space as a well-being area configurable as a gym, spa or cinema.

The 45sqm room is also able to be enhanced by slide-out balconies, with the bottom half of each side wall sliding out and the top half folding upwards and outwards.

Owner’s suite at the aft upper deck

In the standard layout, the owner’s suite is offered on the aft end of the upper deck, which creates a 50sqm owner’s panoramic apartment featuring vast windows and facing aft onto a private 40sqm terrace.

However, the Oasis 42M has been designed to allow owners flexibility and customisation, so a main-deck master suite and an upper-deck skylounge are among the many ways spaces can be used and configured.

Aft upper deck and sundeck

The outdoor areas also include a 17.3m-long sundeck, which Benetti describes as “the largest in the 40-45m yacht segment”. Designed for sunbathing, dining and entertaining, it can be tailored to include features such as a spa pool, bar or lounge. Forward on the upper deck, a generous bow lounge adds yet another open-air retreat with a C-shaped sofa and a large sunbathing area.

Benetti stated: “The Oasis 42M was designed around conscious choices – expanded living spaces that reinforce wellness on the water, coupled with sustainable engineering that ensures a 3-star SEA Index rating. It is the ultimate private retreat for owners seeking a new dimension of yachting under 45m.”

In his latest Column for Yacht Style (Issue 85), Fraser CEO Anders Kurtén admitted he was looking forward to the 34th Monaco Yacht Show, largely due to the wave of new builds completed this year.

“After a strong kick-off to the 2025 European yacht show season at Palma, where Fraser had 10 yachts up to 64m in length on display, we’re looking forward to a further successful event at the Monaco Yacht Show for both Fraser and the industry as a whole,” Kurtén wrote.

“In fact, we’re expecting the busiest Cannes and Monaco shows of recent years, after a surge in deliveries of new-build yachts following orders placed during the boom years of 2021 and 2022.”

Kurtén also stated that the brokerage superyacht market remained healthy, particularly for the larger sizes, while charter bookings were also strong through the summer.

“We are seeing a continued robust appetite for brokerage yachts, particularly in the 50-65m sector, which saw a 50 per cent increase in number of yachts sold (year to date) from 2024 to 2025,” Kurtén wrote in his Column.

Yachts sold by size segment January-June: 2025 (black) and 2024 (grey)

“Similarly, the summer charter season for 2025 saw demand remain very high, particularly for last-minute escapes. Across both 2024 and 2025, the top three regions remained the same in terms of both total charter fees and number of bookings: the Caribbean, Western Mediterranean and the Bahamas.”

Maiora has revealed details of its new M|30, the successor to the brand’s best-selling Maiora 30, which has sold nine units in the last five years and was on display at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival.

Like the M|36 and restyled 36 Exuma models, the upcoming M|30 was created in collaboration with Turin-based design studio Quartostile, while the Next Yacht Group brand’s flagship 42 Exuma features an exterior design by Giorgio Maria Cassetta of Cassetta Yacht Designers.

The exterior of the 190GT M|30, which measures 30.4m with a 7.5m beam, is described by the yard as having a “coupé-like profile” and a “slender superstructure”, with full-height windows and glass finishes on the bulwarks.

A three-level beach club includes an aft cockpit with a transparent parapet, while the saloon features aft dining and a lounge featuring a sofa facing a large TV in the forward bulkhead.

The flybridge has a clear aft area free for sunloungers or other furniture, while the hardtop covers a port lounging area and starboard dining table. A full walk-around design enables easy access to the sunbathing area forward of the helm station. Maiora states that the bow features a water toy garage that can be converted into a pool or sunbathing area.

Interiors by ACube Design can accommodate up to 12 guests. Four guest cabins and five crew berths are located on the lower deck, while the full-beam owner’s suite is situated on the main deck. The panoramic owner’s cabin contains an en-suite bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, vanity corner and a desk area that can be used as either an office or a private breakfast space.

The 100ft composite motoryacht has a fuel capacity of 12,800 litres and will be powered by two MAN V12-2000 engines, for a top speed of 21 knots. The first unit of the M|30 will be delivered in summer 2026.

The team at Camper & Nicholsons’ new design studio will work on refits, new build sales and project coordination for new builds, as well as the interior and exterior design for both yachts and residential projects. The design concepts curated at the new Viareggio studio will benefit from a dedicated materials lounge and a digital configurator to allow owners to visualise their projects.

Daniela Duck, Managing Director of Camper & Nicholsons Italy and Group Head of New Build, will manage the new Viareggio site with support from New Build Sales Manager Francesca Ragnetti and a full creative design team.

“Our clients can now experience a truly collaborative environment,” commented Duck, detailing that the new studio “is where owners, shipyards and our team come together to create yachts of the highest quality”. Duck further explained that “with the materials lounge and digital configurator, decisions become faster and more accurate”.

Amels has launched its largest ever new-build superyacht, the 120m Project Tanzanite. Scheduled for delivery in 2026, Project Tanzanite has been floated inside the dock of Amels’ Vlissingen City shipyard in the Netherlands.

Following the milestone, the yacht has entered her final outfitting stage. The shipyard revealed that a team of over 1,000 internal and external skilled workers will be involved in bringing the project to fruition over the course of the next year.

Named after a violet-coloured gem, Project Tanzanite is a fully-custom, five-deck superyacht penned by Norwegian designer Espen Øino. She has a volume of 6,083GT and will be able to host up to 22 guests, with quarters for an impressive team of 48 crew members including the captain.

To limit her environmental impact, Project Tanzanite will be powered by a hybrid diesel and electric propulsion package, which offers a top speed of 18 knots and a cruising range of 6,000nm. Amels has kept other details about the design of Project Tanzanite tightly under wraps, although photos show an exterior design featuring a raked bow.

Project Tanzanite easily surpasses the length of Amels’ previous flagship, Here Comes The Sun, which was 83m upon delivery in 2017 and extended to 89m following a major refit in the Vlissingen shipyard that was completed in 2021.

Project Tanzanite initially began construction in 2020, with the hull built at the Amels yard in Galati, Romania, before moving in 2023 to the Netherlands, where she’s currently the country’s largest superyacht in build.

Aquila enters sailing cat sector

Aquila enters sailing cat sector

A world leader in powercats, Aquila is now developing a line of sailing catamarans, with the first model to debut in early 2026.

Aquila 50ES

Aquila, one of the world’s leading powercat brands, is developing a series of CE Category A sailing catamarans starting with the 50ES, which is set to debut at the 2026 Miami International Boat Show from February 11-15. Its range of masted models will then expand with the 44ES and 63ES, scheduled to launch in late 2026 and 2027 respectively.

The 50ES, available with four, five or six cabins, has an overall length of 49ft 1in, a 25ft 9in beam and an 82ft 6in mast height above waterline. Its Doyle sails comprise a 90sqm mainsail (optional 96.4sqm square-top) and a 66sqm furling genoa, while options include a 102.8sqm gennaker.

Aquila management said a major reason for the new series was the potential market, observing that between 150-200 powercats are sold into the US each year compared to about 300 sailing catamarans. As well as private sales, charter will be a major focus for the sailing models.

Aquila 50ES

“This expansion represents our next phase as a global boat manufacturer,” said Frank Xiong, CEO of Sino Eagle Group, which manufactures the Aquila portfolio at its 100,000sqm production facility in Hangzhou, China. “We’ve proven ourselves in power catamarans, and now we’re leveraging the deep sailing experience of our team to enter this market.”

Aquila’s team includes Executive Advisor Lex Raas, who co-founded Aquila in 2012 with Xiong and MarineMax founder Bill McGill, who retired last year. A lifelong sailor, Lex Raas is renowned for his pioneering role in developing both the sailing catamaran charter industry through The Moorings and Leopard, and the powercat sector through Leopard and Aquila.

Jean Raas, Lex’s son, is Aquila’s CEO and Chief Product Officer, and was a former member of the US Sailing Team. Jean’s brother Alain, Aquila’s Global Brand Director, also has a strong sailing background including multiple ocean crossings.

Aquila 44ES

Nick Harvey, Aquila’s Chief Revenue Officer, formerly spent over two decades with Groupe Beneteau, working in the US for brands including Lagoon and Jeanneau, while service manager Gareth Wood formerly captained sailing catamarans and is an experienced offshore sailor.

Jure Zule, Aquila’s Chief Designer, is another passionate sailor among the team, while Slovenia’s J&J Design, a long-time Aquila’s collaborator, has designed many sail boats among its portfolio of 400 production boat designs for 70 builders across 30 countries.

Jean Raas said: “This team brings decades of actual sailing experience to the drawing board.”

Distinguished by a sloping coachroof, Aquila sail cats carry some design features of Aquila’s powercats including the flybridge-to-bow stairs, while selling points include a solid foredeck, accessible by a forward saloon door. Each cabin has its own entrance and an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, while options include Aquila’s patented tender crane that extends aft from the flybridge overhang.

Aquila 44ES

Options also include Hybrid Ocean Drive™, Aquila’s integrated hybrid system developed with Torqeedo. Combining electric and diesel power, the hybrid system on the 50ES includes two 50kW Torqeedo Deep Blue inboard motors and two 50-75hp Volvo Penta Saildrive engines.

“Our hybrid system isn’t an afterthought – it’s integrated from day one,” Jean Raas said. “We designed the entire propulsion architecture around this dual-power approach, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal performance in every scenario.”

Aquila 63ES

Aquila is also banking on the build quality of its sailing cats, which are produced alongside the brand’s powercats at Sino Eagle’s purpose-built 100,000sqm facility. Hardware includes a 5-axis milling machine, while upholstery, 316 stainless steel components, electronics and woodworking are manufactured on-site.

Hulls, decks and bulkheads are built as complete components using one-piece moulds, with the shipyard using vinylester resin infusion, which “provides superior structural properties compared to standard polyester resins”, Aquila states. The company also announced that no wood is used in bulkheads, stringers or other critical, high-structural load areas.

Aquila’s dealers in Asia include Marine Italia in Hong Kong and Singapore, Primus Marine in Thailand, Europa Yachts in the Philippines and Indonesia, and Tam Son Yachting in Vietnam.

Princess is producing its first-ever outboard model as it enters the centre-console market with a new C Class of motorboats that will start with the C48, debuting in 2027. Available in Open or enclosed Deck Saloon styles, the 14-tonne cruiser is based on a 47ft 1in hull with a beam of 13ft 8in, which expands with the deployment of drop-down sides.

Will Green, CEO of Princess, said: “The introduction of the C48 marks a defining moment for Princess, representing our bold entry into an entirely new sector. This new yacht embodies freedom, excitement and pure performance, while setting the stage for a thrilling new chapter for our smaller models.”

Michael Peters is responsible for the C48’s underwater naval architecture, centred on the American’s patented Stepped Vee Ventilated Tunnel hull. The SVVT design reduces drag and creates lift by channelling air beneath the running surface, improving performance and fuel economy. The central ventilated tunnel’s vertical sidewalls simulate the effect of a keel, enhancing grip and directional stability during turning.

Olesinski – Princess’s long-time collaborator for naval architecture – is responsible for the C48’s exterior architecture, while the shipyard’s in-house design team led by Andy Lawrence, Executive Director of Design & Development, is responsible for the styling and design.

Princess C48 Open

As Princess enters the high-powered outboard market, propulsion options include three 400hp Mercury Verado V10 petrol engines for an estimated top speed of 44-46 knots or triple 600hp Mercury Verado V12s for 52-54 knots, with a 2,250-litre fuel capacity. The inboard option features two 480hp Volvo Penta D6 inboard diesel engines for a top speed of 32-34 knots, a 1,500-litre fuel capacity and the option of a hydraulic swim platform.

The C48 Open is a departure for Princess, offering open-air boating that fits with the new market for luxury dayboats. Furniture starts aft with an island sunpad, while a moveable backrest can create a sofa facing forward to a table and an aft-facing sofa.

A roomy two-part outdoor galley features an electric grill, drawer fridge, sink and storage, while a triple-seat helm station has the driver in the middle. The foredeck has forward and aft-facing sofas.

The lower deck includes an aft double cabin, a bathroom to starboard and, in the standard version, a lobby with storage and optional fridge-freezer, plus a convertible V-shaped dinette. Instead of the dinette, forward options include an enclosed owner’s suite or a lower galley.

Princess C48 Deck Saloon

The enclosed Deck Saloon variant has an outdoor cockpit with a table and facing sofas. Sliding doors lead to an interior with an L-shaped dinette to port and a galley to starboard, aft of a triple-seat helm station with steering to starboard and doors on both sides. A sliding sunroof is among options. The lower deck includes forward and aft cabins, and a bathroom, equivalent to the owner’s suite option on the Open.

“By uniting the extraordinary talent of Michael Peters, our long-standing partners at Olesinski, and our own design team led by Andy Lawrence, we have created a yacht that combines the very best of hydrodynamic engineering, exterior beauty and interior elegance,” Green said. “The C48 is not only a new direction for Princess – it also represents a new standard for the centre-console market.”
