Excess 11

Excess Catamarans, founded by Beneteau Group in 2019, has announced that it will begin offering hybrid propulsion on its Excess 11 starting from this summer. The brand’s entry model has an overall length of 37ft 5in and a beam of 21ft 7in, and offers either three or four cabins with two bathrooms in the hulls.

The hybrid propulsion option for the Excess 11 includes a genset and twin electric motors, which will allow sailors to enjoy quiet docking manoeuvres and cruise under fully electric power, as well as increase the yacht’s range.

“Already renowned for agility, responsiveness at the helm, and optimised living space, the Excess 11 is now enriched by an innovative propulsion technology, without compromising quality of life on board,” Excess stated.

“Available starting in the summer of 2025, the hybrid version of the Excess 11 meets the increasing expectations of sailors wishing to combine comfort and innovation.”

The hybrid technology will later be offered aboard the Excess 13, which had its world premiere at this year’s International Multihull Show in La Grande Motte on France’s south coast, with the model joining the 11 and 14 in the brand’s portfolio.

LUXUO delves into Maison Brimoncourt’s distinct flavour profiles, food pairings and how the brand aims to reach Champagne lovers in Singapore and beyond.

Maison Brimoncourt is not your average Champagne house but rather a celebration of the art of living. Brimoncourt was founded with a vision to rediscover the original spirit of champagne — a light, joyful wine meant for celebration, meant to be shared freely without the formality that often surrounds it. Brimoncourt is described as “a way of being, inspired by free spirits — it is a chivalrous desire, a sophisticated response to convenience and boredom”. Founded by the charming Alexandre Cornot — a former lawyer, Navy officer and art collector — the Maison aims to return Champagne to its original role as a joyful, shared experience. As an admirer of the terroir and Champagne lover, Alexandre Cornot breathes character and exigency into each and every one of the House’s creations.

Brimoncourt founder Alexandre Cornot

Brimoncourt’s Chardonnays, known for their fine bubbles and delicate floral notes, are crafted from the finest vintages of the Sézanais and Côte des Blancs. Their Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, meanwhile, are sourced from the Montagne de Reims and the Marne Valley. At the helm of this meticulous process is François Huré, the Chief Oenologist, whose mastery in blending reflects a deep respect for the unique terroir of Champagne. With its roots in the historic terroirs of Sézanais, Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims and the Marne Valley, Brimoncourt crafts wines that combine finesse with a touch of rebellion. In this exclusive interview, LUXUO speaks to Patrick Sng, founder and CEO of OneCellar, about why Brimoncourt is capturing the hearts of Champagne lovers in Singapore and beyond.

Tell us about the origins of Champagne Brimoncourt.

The name Brimoncourt was a historic Champagne but had been abandoned until the label was resurrected by the current owner, Alexander Cornot, in 2008. Cornot had been an art buyer in New York and saw how people took wine more casually, and wanted to revive the celebratory roots of Champagne instead of reinforcing the formal, exclusive stereotypes. The first vintage was released in 2013, and since then, the signature style of the label has been “joyful elegance”.

Why did One Cellar decide to bring Brimoncourt to Singapore’s Champagne lovers?

It is a beautifully fresh Champagne — generous, silky bubbles, elegant structure with a freshness that doesn’t need excessive sweetness or heaviness. We think it fits not just the Singaporean palate, but also the spirit and cuisine of Singapore.

Can you share some thoughts on the terroir of Brimoncourt: Cote des blancs, Montagne de Reims, Ay?

The chardonnays, characterised by their fine bubbles and their floral notes, are made from the finest vintages of the Sézanias and the Côtes des Blancs, regions, where the grape thrives. The Pinot Noir and Pinot Munier stem from the Montagne de Reims and the Marne Valley. The Marne Valley is where darker grape varieties shine, particularly the Pinot Noir in Ay. François Huré, Chief Oenologist, strives to respect the Champagne Terroir and is a master in the art of blending.

What distinguishes Brimoncourt Brut Regence from the rest of the Brimoncourt range?

The Brut Regence is Brimoncourt’s signature wine. It’s a blend of 80 percent Chardonnay and 20 percent Pinot Noir, and is aged on lees in the bottles for 48 months. This allows it to develop rich flavours of brioche and toasted nuts, while maintaining a beautiful freshness and a delicate floral fragrance. It’s quite a seductive wine, and goes amazingly with smoked salmon or pan-fried scallops. But of course because of it’s subtle elegance, it’s extremely versatile and divine on it’s own.

Brimoncourt Cuvees are well-known for their elegance and lightness. Do you think that makes them perfect wines to pair with food, as opposed to heavier champagne that would overtake the flavours of a dish?

Their lightness and elegance make them the perfect, versatile champagne to always have on hand. Their light flavours certainly make them particularly pairable with Asian cuisines. Lightly fried dishes like fried rice variations and many dim sum options are on point with these wines. Plus, they are surprisingly versatile with deep-fried dishes, think tempura and batter-fried chicken and fish. This also makes them compatible with western fusion dishes, or on their own. They’re suitable for a number of occasions.

Do you have a personal favourite from the Brimoncourt range, and what would you pair it with?

Personally, I love the Extra Brut. The grapes are rigorously selected from 6 Grand Cru villages in outstanding years. It spends 4 years maturing in the cellar, giving it refined complexity; the winemaking skills really shine through. With a very low dosage of only 2 grams of sugar, it stays dry and fresh on the palate which spotlights the quality of the vines. Bubbles are fine, the citrus and minerality are a delight if you prefer a drier wine.

When do you recommend drinking the subtle, Brimoncourt brut rosé?

We think of this bottle as “bookends”, or a “before and after” kind of bubbly. On a weekend afternoon, it’s a luxury to open a bottle of Champagne, particularly after a hike at MacRitchie Reservoir or a day of running errands. If you can pair this at home with an afternoon thunderstorm and a bit of brie cheese and prosciutto, you’ve hit the pairing jackpot. Before dinner, it’s fresh and whets the palate.

On the other hand, it is perfect to finish a meal with. When you have guests who need one more glass, or if you’re serving a delicious custard with berry compote, this is THE Champagne to have ready. To pair this directly with a meal, I’d recommend roasted veggies or a goat cheese salad.

Do you think Champagne pairs well with Chinese cuisine?

Absolutely! Dim sum and fried rice variations have already been mentioned. Besides that, the acidity in Champagne makes it an excellent match for almost anything featuring scallops, salmon or prawns. Fresh seasonings and subtle herbs served with vegetables are also a good match for Champagne, plus the bubbles go great with steamed or fried dumplings and spring rolls.

Is Maison Brimoncourt in Ay open to visitors? What can guests expect to experience?

Absolutely! Apart from tasting the various cuvees, one can be amazed with the archive of over 8,000 pieces of lithographic stones for various Champagne houses whose labels were once printed on-site 2 centuries ago. Brimoncourt occupies remarkable historic buildings listed in the inventory of the industrial heritage of Champagne. These buildings, designed by Gustave Eiffel, are surrounded by two-hundred-year-old gardens. Visitors are welcome to visit on an appointment basis; either via the Maison’s website https://www.brimoncourt.com/en/ or contact One Cellar at +6593661616 to assist with visitation arrangements.

Tell us about the sustainability policies in place at Champagne Brimoncourt?

Brimoncourt has invested time in slowly building relationships with independent growers who respect and encourage integrated viticulture throughout the vine growing cycle. Through it’s carefully selected partnerships, they support soil and vine nutrition, biodiversity preservation, balance of the vine and strengthening of its natural defences.

Brimoncourt and the Asian consumers, a fast-growing love story?

Brimoncourt meets everything the Asian consumer requires; suitable, delicious and accessible. It’s suitability with Asian food pairings, the exquisite and versatile taste and the accessible price point make it a stunning wine. Not only is it getting high ratings from global wine critics like Jancis Robinson and Wine Enthusiast, but our local audience loves it as well.

Rolex Land-Dweller turns rumour into revelation

Rolex Land-Dweller turns rumour into revelation

SHARE

From industry whispers to a full-fledged launch, Rolex’s latest release, the Rolex Land-Dweller, proves that some surprises are worth the hype.

By Ashok Soman

Rolex Land-Dweller

If you told me last month that Rolex would be revealing a new Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller at Watches and Wonders Geneva, I would have expressed polite scepticism. Now, add on an avalanche of leaks on the same news and I would have laughed in your face. Well, the joke is on me because there is indeed a new Land-Dweller in the mix and virtually everything about it is as promised by the leaks. Is this genius publicity or a happy accident? We will never know, but who cares because this watch was definitely a highlight we were all looking forward to as the official Rolex press presentation rolled around. To be sure, the usual morning scrum in front of the Rolex stand did not disappoint – at this point, I was so confident that I had written this paragraph before the show began, on the plane coming into Geneva.

Rolex Land-Dweller

Everything about the above passage is unbelievable, except that it happens to be true. My fellow professionals who might chance on this story will certainly know where I am coming from. On that note, credit for the first bit of news – concerning the new calibre and its escapement – must go to Cheryl Chia at Revolution. Happily, Cheryl used to write for us too before taking on the Editor-at-Large role at Revolution, and you certainly can count on her to successfully interpret patents. Of course, this is no longer about breaking news, so we can get down to brass tacks on the new watch itself. For a more, shall we say, hearty take on how this all went down, see our report summing up the first day of the fair coming up later.

Rolex Land-Dweller

To get right into it, the time-only-with-date Land-Dweller is back and brings some notable features, the most significant of which is the new automatic calibre 7135. Since this involves a new escapement and this is Rolex, there is no call for rushing and every reason to put a little effort into making sense of things. To this end, we will just get into broad generalities in this post because, love it or not, the Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller is probably the biggest news of the fair, if the state of leaks and pre-releases can be believed. Available in 36mm and 40mm, the watch has a new case (the inspiration for which is obvious), a new integrated bracelet, new dials, new hands, new numerals and that new movement, which is visible thanks to an exhibition caseback.

Rolex Land-Dweller

Take a moment to consider all that because it is pretty overwhelming. Starting at CHF13,200 (we will update with Singapore pricing later), the watch represents excellent value for those who care about such things because the cost of the new movement and everything else is clearly not front-loaded here.

Rolex Land-Dwelle

With a new escapement that is not in the tried-and-tested Swiss lever form, with all new parts that must have required all new tools, machines and techniques, this is peak mechanical watchmaking.

Maritimo stages premieres at Sanctuary Cove

Maritimo stages premieres at Sanctuary Cove

The Australian shipyard is hosting the world premieres of the new M50 and S60 at this year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. Words: Bruce Maxwell; Images: Maritimo

The M50 is capable of cruising in any conditions while those onboard enjoy a high level of comfort

For more than 60 years, Maritimo has designed and handcrafted stylish and luxurious long-range motoryachts on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. Founder Bill Barry-Cotter and his team ensure that their passion for being on the sea shines through with every ocean-going vessel they build, including the M50 flybridge due to premiere at the 2025 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (May 22-25).

Maritimo has always been a brand of evolution and the M50 – which has an LOA of 15.7m (51ft 6in) and a beam of 5.22m (17ft 2in) – takes cues from the brand’s sporty sedans, such as the flagship S75 and the recent Black Editions of the S55 and S60, while adding its own unique elements to the formula.

Collaboration with current and prospective Maritimo owners, following the global announcement of this new model at last year’s Sanctuary Cove show, has cultivated further refinements and enhancements.

The M50’s saloon is bright and spacious

A key design focus was creating one deck level from the cockpit all the way through to the galley. Other refinements include maximising the headroom throughout the vessel (to 1.9m minimum), benefiting the staterooms, galley, saloon and bridge. The exterior design prioritises safety and exploration, with walk-around decks that grant easy access to the foredeck, making it ideal for families and pet owners.

The accommodation floor plan delivers a class-leading, full-beam master stateroom space with a walkaround king-size bed and en-suite, along with a large VIP stateroom featuring a double bed that splits into two singles, and an abundance of overhead storage lockers. The scale and grandeur of both bathrooms have also been increased.

“The two-stateroom format frees up space for use by the primary occupants,” said Neil McCabe, Maritimo’s Design Office Manager. “The entire length of the master is filled with light from the huge through-hull window, which has two opening portholes on both sides to deliver ample fresh air when at anchor. A single-level floor, two large hanging wardrobes, and a massive bathroom ensure the owner enjoys an elevated level of comfort and satisfaction that Maritimos are renowned for.”

The fully enclosed flybridge doubles as a second-storey retreat

The M50’s fully enclosed flybridge doubles as a second-storey retreat. This innovative feature provides a sheltered, serene environment regardless of weather conditions, with an optional foldout sofa bed to accommodate more guests.

The addition of an integrated hydraulic lifting and hinged swim platform reduces the overhang and vessel length when docked. The twin 800hp Volvo D13 engines, super-efficient ZF 325 shaft drive, and hull-design technology ensure the best fuel consumption in its class.

“In all, 24 knots cruising, with 30 knots at full pace, seems to be the order of the day from the twin 800hp inline sixes that fit so well into the engine room,” McCabe said. “We should be around 25 metric tonnes dry weight. This is very much part of our client expectations.”

S60 SEDAN

The S-Series is Maritimo’s single-level experience. Socialising and entertainment flows seamlessly inside and out from saloon to cockpit on essentially one deck. Feedback from owners has largely led to enhanced layouts that support the amount of time spent and activities pursued in key areas of these boats.

Maritimo, M50, S60, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Neil McCabe

Inheriting sweeping contours of the S-Series, the S60’s new hull design features a variable deadrise, deep keel and sharp bow entry

Another essential aspect, when designing for long-range capability, is storage options for additional supplies, water toys, fishing gear, safety equipment and tenders, using particularly the aft garage lazarette. The expansive aft adventure deck can be lifted via electric actuators to reveal the largest garage lazarette in any Maritimo to date.

It can house a 3.2m tender, or select two-person jet skis, when optioned with a 350kg rear davit, or alternatively, the fully-lined garage space can be used to store additional supplies and other adventure toys such as kayaks, SUPs and Scuba gear.

Maritimo’s design division has enabled the mostly unused sedan hardtop to be pressed into service as deck space, accessed via an overhead hatch and ladder from the ‘upper cockpit’, which is where the only one-step level change occurs. The hardtop itself can carry a 350kg davit and tender, freeing up the adventure deck and aft garage space for other purposes.

The upper cockpit comes in three separate options including a U-shaped dining lounge area for six. Connected to the aft galley and luxurious lounging area, this integrates as the social hub of the vessel.

Maritimo, M50, S60, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Neil McCabe

Versatile adventure deck and lazarette aft combine with extra storage options on the reinforced roof

“The S60 further advances Maritimo’s experience in long-range cruising design,” said a spokesman. “The variable deadrise hull with deep keel, sharp bow entry and flattened progression aft focuses on offshore cruising performance, comfort and stability.

“Engrained in the Maritimo ethos of reliability and dependability, the S60’s new hull design and engineering are designed around straight shaft drive technology, with the standard Volvo Penta D13-800mph power units transferring power to the water via an ultra-efficient eight-degree straight shaft angle to the 5 Blade Nibral Propellers.”

The relatively low eight-degree shaft angle also reduces overall draft to a very versatile 1.35m, allowing anchoring in shallower water. Apart from Volvo Penta power, the S60 is available with CAT units to 1,000hp or 1,150hp Scania engines. Her 4,550-litre fuel capacity, combined with Maritimo’s efficient systems, should ensure owners reach distant destinations with minimal stops.

Fraser Asia staff with international colleagues visiting Hong Kong in May 2025

As the superyacht industry in Asia continues to grow, Fraser has been reinforcing its regional presence with an ongoing strategic staff expansion for the past five years. Now boasting a strong team of 10 across yacht sales, charter broker, yacht management and marketing, Fraser Asia is being further strengthened by the continuing support of the company’s global network.

In a roundtable discussion, Yacht Style gathered insights from the Fraser Asia team including Laura Verbrugge (Asia Manager, based in Hong Kong), Jacqueline Lee, Candy Li (Hong Kong-based yacht brokers), Suhaimi Badri (Singapore Manager) and Benjamin Tabuteau (Thailand Manager), as well as Fraser CEO Anders Kurtén and Senior Broker Jan Jaap Minnema, both based in Monaco.

Fraser Asia has been expanding its team in the past five years across multiple offices, which includes three in Asia – Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand. How does this strengthen your regional presence?

Laura Verbrugge: Asia is a dynamic and growing market, and having the right team on the ground is crucial. By bringing in top-tier talent – both in brokerage and operational roles – we’re ensuring our clients receive the highest level of service and that we also understand local culture and needs.

Represented by Asiamarine, Fraser Asia has its headquarters in Aberdeen, Hong Kong

Whether it’s in sales, charter or management, our expanded team allows us to be more responsive and proactive in meeting the needs of yacht owners and buyers in the region.

Jacqueline Lee and Candy Li: Hong Kong remains a pivotal hub for high-net-worth clients. With our expanded team, we’re able to offer more personalised service from yacht acquisitions to management and charter logistics. Our connection to Fraser’s global network means clients in the Asia region have access to the best yachts and expertise worldwide.

Suhaimi Badri: Singapore’s role as a gateway to Southeast Asia makes it a critical base for us. The new team members enhance our ability to manage complex transactions and regulatory requirements, ensuring smooth operations for owners cruising in ASEAN waters.

Benjamin Tabuteau: Thailand continues to grow as a preferred private cruising destination in Asia, and our team plays a critical support role in that ecosystem. We assist owners and captains with everything from paperwork and local compliance to refit coordination, maintenance and charter management.

The 50m Grand Cru is listed by Fraser for US$6.8 million

Backed by Fraser’s global network, our on-the-ground expertise ensures that yachts operating here are not only legally compliant but also maintained to the highest standards, making Thailand an ideal base for charter operations.

Jan Jaap, as a Senior Broker working across Fraser’s global network, how do you support the Asia market?

Jan Jaap Minnema: Supporting the Asia market is an exciting part of what I do. Working across our global network means I can connect clients in Asia not just with the best yachts available locally, but also with opportunities worldwide.

Asia’s yachting scene is growing fast, and every client is different – some are looking for family cruising yachts, others for serious investment pieces – so it’s about really listening, understanding what they want and guiding them through every step.

Fraser Asia, Fraser, superyachts, Hong Kong, Anders Kurtén, Jan Jaap Minnema

Grand Cru has airy indoor spaces in its open saloon and dining area

I stay closely connected with our teams on the ground in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and beyond, making sure we’re offering advice that’s tailored, not just copied and pasted from elsewhere. Whether it’s helping a first-time buyer find the right build team, setting up a charter programme or advising on the latest market trends, my goal is to make the whole process smooth, smart and enjoyable.

With my 25 years of worldwide yachting experience, a client has all the benefits of our contacts with all the major shipyards in Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and Turkey. And honestly, relationships are everything in this market. It’s about trust, discretion and being there for the long-term – not just one deal. That’s something Fraser really believes in, and how we’ve built such strong ties across the region.

What trends are you seeing in Asia’s superyacht scene?

Jan Jaap Minnema: The Asian market’s evolving fast. It’s not just about owning a yacht anymore, it’s about experiences. Clients want to go further, to places like Papua New Guinea or hidden Indonesian islands, so explorer yachts are in big demand.

Customisation is non-negotiable now; they want yachts that match their lifestyle perfectly, inside and out. Sustainability is no longer a ‘nice-to-have’ either – hybrid tech and eco-conscious builds are really catching on.

This Riva 90’ Argo, built in 2020, was sold by Fraser Asia in 2024

Chartering’s exploding too, with more people trying before they buy, especially around Thailand and the Philippines. Honestly, Asia’s not ‘the next market’ – it’s already here and it’s serious.

What’s the road ahead for Fraser Asia?

Laura Verbrugge: For our clients, this expansion translates directly into better service and more opportunities. We’re now able to deliver faster response times, as our local presence eliminates time-zone barriers, wider yacht selections and more localised support across Asia’s key cruising grounds.

Our growing team means each client gets more dedicated attention, whether they’re looking to buy, sell, charter or manage their yacht.

With stronger teams in key Asian markets and the backing of Fraser’s worldwide resources with more than 300 specialists, we’re perfectly positioned to accompany our clients in their next superyacht chapter. This powerful combination of local knowledge and international scale makes Fraser the natural partner for Asia’s most discerning yachting enthusiasts.

Anders, as CEO of Fraser, can you provide a concluding note.

Anders Kurtén: Having spent two days at this year’s Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit, and subsequent days with our Fraser team on the ground in Hong Kong, I am ever more convinced that Asia is one of the most promising emerging markets for superyacht services. And I find that our Fraser values of honesty, integrity and respect dovetail well with the diverse cultures that we encounter across the major Asian markets where we have a presence.

As ever, having the best people on the ground is key because our clients generally are not interested in working with the ‘biggest’ company but the best. And managing to be the best, the size will automatically follow as a function of the quality service that is provided, time and time again.

Having recently added some new key hires to our Fraser Asia team leaves us ever better positioned to capitalise on the significant growth that I expect the region to offer us in the coming years.

Custom Line and Azimut were among winners at the awards night during the four-day Blue Design Summit in Italy.

The Custom Line 50 superyacht and Azimut’s Seadeck 7 were among award winners during the four-day Blue Design Summit, which was held in La Spezia on Italy’s west coast from May 13-16. An annual event focusing on yacht design, innovation and culture, the Blue Design Summit again attracted industry leaders, top companies, designers and international shipyards.

The Blue Design Awards gala dinner was held at Teatro Civico on the event’s second evening. Custom Line’s 50m aluminium flagship won the Living Innovation category “for the architectural vision behind a revolutionary interior layout that introduces unprecedented living solutions in this market segment”, according to the Ferretti Group brand.

Custom Line 50 owner’s suite

“What convinced the panel of judges was the deck devoted entirely to the owner, with a 75sqm suite at the bow featuring a private terrace, spaces flooded with natural light, and separated crew and guest flows to ensure maximum privacy,” Custom Line stated. “This exclusive design approach revisits the onboard lifestyle through a contemporary lens.”

Azimut’s full-hybrid Seadeck 7 won the General Concept award by embodying the series’ ‘Gentle at Sea’ philosophy, which focuses on an “authentic experience in close connection with nature with the best solutions to reduce CO emissions by up to 40 per cent”, the shipyard stated. The yacht features a full-hybrid system developed with Volvo Penta, advanced naval architecture and extensive use of carbon.

Azimut Seadeck 7

Alberto Mancini’s exterior design includes the line’s signature ‘Fun Island’ beach club area, while Azimut’s focus on natural, recycled and recyclable materials led to the choice of Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez to design the interiors for both the Seadeck 6 and Seadeck 7.

Nautor Swan – represented in Asia-Pacific by Simpson Marine – has splashed the first hull of its new flagship Swan 128 at its Boatbuilding Technology Centre in Pietarsaari, where the entire fibreglass Swan line and full-carbon Maxi Swan models are produced.

The brand’s second-longest model to date, after the Swan 131 (2006), will be fully classed under RINA and remains on course for its world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show from September 24-27. The 39m superyacht heads an upgraded Swan Maxi range that includes the Swan 108 (2023), the Swan 88 (2024), as well as the new Swan 80 set to show in 2026.

Giovanni Pomati, CEO of Nautor Swan, said: “We consider the new Swan 128 the ultimate expression of our evolution. She combines the purity of our design lines with comfortable interiors and a wide use of advanced technologies. We are truly proud and see this yacht as a benchmark in the world of maxi sailing.”

Following the launch, the shipyard stated that “in just a few weeks, she will be ready to sail, heading to the Mediterranean for cruising, racing, and eventually reaching her home port in Porto Cervo”.

The Swan 128 features naval architecture by German Frers, deck and coachroof styling by Micheletti+Partners, and interiors by Misa Poggi, with significant contributions from the in-house design and product development teams.

The design philosophy behind the new Swan 128 aligns with the core principles established for the Swan 108 but with greater attention devoted to performance, aesthetics and interior layout.

Frers has enhanced performance through a detailed CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis, conducted by Cape Horn Engineering, which allowed for the optimisation of the canoe body’s shape under all dynamic sailing conditions.

The adoption of a double rudder system improves control, even at high speeds, while a moderate heel angle – around 20° in optimal conditions – enhances onboard comfort under sail. The VPP polars are “exceptional”, according to Nautor Swan, with peak speeds well above 17 knots.

The exterior has been refined by focusing on the relationship between the hull and the superstructure, achieving a sleek, agile and sporty look, while incorporating a semi-raised saloon. The bow has been designed to ensure optimal separation between the headstay and the code zero without requiring a bowsprit, so enhancing performance and sail handling.

The cockpit layout follows the classic three-area division that defines all Swan yachts. The forward area, close to the deckhouse, is dedicated to guests and protected by a sprayhood and a bimini top (with an optional retractable rigid structure). The standard configuration includes C-shaped sofas, a double table and an aft-facing sundeck, while the flat floor offers multiple options for owners.

The central cockpit area houses all the essential controls for handling the yacht, including panoramic helms and sheet winches. A second companionway in this area provides direct access from the crew quarters to the helms.

The stern is dedicated to the beach club, which connects to the large swim platform, an area that can be further extended with an optional double-action platform, exclusive to the latest Swan models, while the tender garage can accommodate a 4.9m RIB/tender.

The interior is a collaboration between Poggi, Frers, Nautor Swan’s interiors department and the owner’s team.

The elevated saloon benefits from three levels of natural light and panoramic views, with the lounge and dining areas well separated in the standard configuration, although the layout allows for numerous customisation options. Day beds can be included to take advantage of the large hull windows. The TV lounge, directly connected to the raised living room, can be converted into a large dining room that comfortably seats up to 10 guests.

The forward owner’s quarters feature a master cabin and a full-beam bathroom, and can be customised due to few structural constraints and bulkheads that offer design flexibility. The guest cabins can be arranged to suit individual preferences, offering single or double beds, additional pullman beds, and en-suite bathrooms that can be equipped with bidets.

The entire aft area is dedicated to the crew, with three double cabins, each with its own en-suite bathroom and shower compartment. A double crew mess includes a forward section capable of converting into additional stowage space. The crew area includes a large galley with central island, a walk-in laundry room, and a navigation desk near the stern companionway.

The engine room spans the entire midships area below the saloon, with double-filtered access through a workshop area. The Swan 128 features the latest SCR technology to reduce emissions, in compliance with the latest IMO III regulations. The yacht is equipped with a variable pitch propeller and advanced sound-insulation technologies.

Ferretti Group Asia Pacific hosted a spectacular China premiere for the wallywhy200, which was shown with two other leading models in Shenzhen Bay.

Ferretti Group Asia Pacific and dealer Speedo Marina hosted a memorable China premiere for Wally’s wallywhy200 at the Shenzhen Bay Yacht Club, with the 200GT flagship of the brand’s ‘spaceship’ line looking spectacular as the late afternoon blended into sunset then evening.

First presented globally at Cannes Yachting Festival 2021, the model only made her Asia premiere at Singapore Yachting Festival in April 2024 before following with her China unveiling this May.

Guests enjoyed live jazz, fine wines and gourmet delicacies at a spectacular poolside venue that also offered dramatic views of the golden-hued sunset over the South China Sea, along with daytime and nighttime views of the wallywhy200.

“The vibrant ambience, alive with music and merriment, transformed the night into a truly enchanting Italian-style midsummer celebration,” Ferretti Group Asia Pacific stated.

Wally’s biggest motoryacht since joining Ferretti Group, the high-volume 27m flybridge model was designed to ‘redefine expectations of mid-sized vessels’ and drew gasps from champagne-sipping guests with her revolutionary shape and volume.

Ferretti Group stated that the yacht offers 50 per cent more living space utilisation than traditional yachts of her length yet without making the speed concessions of a displacement yacht.

On the other side of the pontoon from the wallywhy200, Ferretti Group Asia Pacific also showed a Riva 76’ Perseo sport-fly and a Ferretti Yachts 1000, the brand’s flagship Flybridge model, which were both toured by guests and easily visible from the poolside.

CL Yachts unveiled its latest concept, CLB65 SUV, ahead of the 2025 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (May 22-25), where it will be presented to prospective clients as part of the brand’s ongoing expansion in the Australian market. The builder stated that production of the inaugural unit is set to begin by mid-2025 and is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2026.

The SUV edition is effectively the sedan or coupe version of CLB65, which had its Asia-Pacific debut in Hong Kong and has appeared at major boat shows across Australia and the US.

Martin Lo, Director of CL Yachts, said: “Coming at the very peak of the yachting season, we are so excited to unveil our CLB65 SUV to the industry. Building on the success of our CLB65, this latest model takes advantage of our five generations of boat-building experience as our sportiest, most compact yacht to date, while still offering the contemporary styling and modern features expected from a CL yacht.”

Designed primarily for owner-operators, with a ZF JMS boat control system on either wing to assist with docking, the sporty 19.7m yacht is powered by either twin Caterpillar C18 or Volvo Penta D13 diesel engines, which enable it to reach 30 knots. Owners can choose RINA Hull Construction or CE Category B Class certifications, while at-rest fins or gyro stabilisation are also among options.

The yacht includes a full-beam hydraulic swim platform, while a transom door leads to a room that can be configured as an enclosed beach club, an activity room for fishing and diving, or a crew/guest cabin with bathroom.

On the main deck, the aft cockpit includes a forward-facing C-shaped sofa and a high-low table that can be lowered and covered by cushions to make a sunpad. Forward to port are an outdoor grill and bar stools facing the galley, separated by a flip-up window.

Super Tomato designed the interior, which is offered with either walnut or white oak décor options. The saloon starts with the galley to port and a C-shaped dinette with a folding table and the option of loose chairs to complete the seating.

Forward to port is a raised C-shaped lounge sofa, where the side window and sunroof can both be opened to let in breeze. To starboard is a pop-up TV that can rotate to face the dining area or lounge,  while forward is a twin-seat helm station.

Accommodation on the lower deck includes a full-beam, midships master cabin with an en-suite bathroom featuring twin sinks. On port side is a flexible guest cabin with en-suite, while the VIP forward benefits from a skylight and has en-suite access to a starboard bathroom that can also be accessed by guests from the hallway.

The recent two-day Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit 2025 had 275 registered attendees

Held in Hong Kong’s Renaissance Harbour View Hotel once again, the yachting industry was well-represented, across shipyards, distributors, brokerages, maintenance and services providers and marinas, among others, with Yacht Style in attendance, as we were last year, as a media partner.

After a welcome by Merijn de Waard, founder and Director of SuperYacht Times – the event organiser, and Head of the publication’s Asia-Pacific Superyacht Report 2025, Ralph Dazert’s brief overview of this year’s findings, the panel discussions began.

Hong Kong as a Superyacht Destination was the first topic, moderated by Enrico Chhibber of SuperYacht Times. Panellists were: Lawrence Chow, Chairman, Hong Kong Boating Industry Association (HKBIA); Benjamin Wong, Head of Transport & Logistics and Industrials, InvestHK; Cissy Chan, Executive Director, Commercial, Airport Authority Hong Kong; Joe Yuen, Director, Lodestone Yachts.

They concluded that for Hong Kong to thrive, there is a need for infrastructure development, regulatory clarity and simplicity, coordinated efforts, continued investment, and marketing Hong Kong’s appeal for visiting superyachts.

Asia-Pacific Superyacht SummitFrom left: Enrico Chhibber, Lawrence Chow, Cissy Chan, Benjamin Wong, Joe Yuen

In the second panel, How to Build a Superyacht Destination, moderated by Fancesca Webster, speakers were: Issam Kazim, CEO, Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (a part of Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism); Jean-Marc Poullet, Senior Partner Chairman Asia, Burgess; Laura Verbrugge, Fraser Asia Manager, superyacht and charter brokerage; Manoa Rey, Research and Niche Marketing Coordinator, Tahiti Tourism; Bob Hoogendoorn, Senior Manager, McKinsey & Company management consultancy.

Kazim mentioned Dubai had “naturally attracted superyachts”, adding its very supportive government was helping remove any difficulties in regulations. Frustration over visiting-yacht paperwork and complicated regulations in Southeast Asia was expressed by other panellists. Preserving the environment, from Tahiti’s 50-60 visiting large yachts allowed annually, to more built-up territories when marinas are planned, was discussed.

A presentation followed by Nigel Beatty on the upcoming Base Kobe marina (minimum size berths: 24m) followed, which he noted is part of the port regeneration in central Japan, and he familarised listeners on how well Kobe is connected by infrastructure to Tokyo and other domestic areas, as well as being on the edge of a large sheltered Seto ‘inland sea’.

Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit

Panel discussion How to Manage Refits Successfully in Asia  had speakers mentioning their best – and worst – experiences. Discussing these matters were: Sam Thompson, Director, JMS Yachting; Rob Taylor, Managing Director, Clearvac Engineering Asia; Robert Corcoran, Chief Operating Officer, Fema Marine; Petre Plesea, Managing Director, Golden Eagle Yacht Management (pictured above).

They mostly extolled the quality levels and significantly lower prices that give the Asia yacht refit market potential but added that it can be hindered by infrastructure, regulatory challenges and a shortage of skilled labour.

Ben Sumadiwiria, aka “Supercoolben”, provided levity in his How to Succeed in Social Media interview. He makes fictional / comedic videos pretending to be the son of the richest person in Indonesia. He started with restaurant reviews, following a career as a chef. The popularity of his videos and sponsored restaurant reviews that followed paved the way for his work with yachting companies – in a recent one, Sumadiwiria acted being the father of a family, aboard three different yachts that his character owned, and the company sold one shortly thereafter.

Navigating the Luxury Market in Asia was a broad discussion with panellists including Paolo Casini – CEO, Camper & Nicholsons, Monaco Nigel Tang, Head of Operations, Warpcapital Yacht Management; David Lau, founder, Cross Harbour Advisory.

Sub-topics explored the evolving landscape of Asia’s luxury market – especially yachts – with a particular focus on how brands, service providers and stakeholders in the superyacht sector can respond to shifting consumer preferences, regional nuances, and emerging opportunities.

Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit

Day 1 concluded with a passionate account of Tam Son Yachting’s successful building by Doan Viet Dai Tu (above), Chairman, of Openasia Group, charting his observence of Vietman’s transition from motorcycles to cars – which he then started importing; this segued into his building up not only a yacht dealership but also his involvement in liaising with authorities to improve the experience of leisure yachting for domestic and visiting users.

The Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit 2025 networking dinner took place at the end of Day 1, at The Verandah restaurant, preceded by outdoor cocktails on its lawn (above), in Repulse Bay, on Hong Kong Island.

Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit

Day 2’s Reducing the Energy Consumption of Yachts discussion included Martin Lo, Cheoy Lee Director; Vladimir Zinchenko, CEO, GX Superyachts; Chris Blackwell, Sales & Manager of Echo Yachts; Alessandro Rossi, Chief Technical Officer of Azimut-Benetti Group; Haico van Roeden, Technical Manager Design & Proposal at Damen Yachting (above).

It began with the premise that the yachting industry faces growing pressure to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact, and examined new technologies that are emerging to optimise energy consumption and how these innovations can be integrated into new builds and refits, striking a balance between sustainability and operational performance.

Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit

In the Emerging Markets discussion, speakers were: Angel Zhou, China General Manager at Simpson Marine; Ronnie Wang, Owner’s representative at Yachting Encounters Asia; Gautama Dutta, CEO & Director at Marine Solutions Distribution & Services; Alexandre Heng, Founder & CEO of O2HO (above).

As the Asia-Pacific’s surge in wealth creation, particularly among the younger generation, is a given and spending patterns are evolving, this panel looked to brokers from key emerging markets, including India and China, to discuss what is needed to attract this new wave of wealth into yachting. The panel emphasised that education, infrastructure development and creating accessible yachting experiences are critical to growing these markets, highlighting significant untapped potential in Asian maritime leisure.

The next panel was on Cross-border Regulations and Practicalities, with Roy Chan, Co-Founder & Director, Legalmapp; May Choi, Yacht Management Operations Manager, Simpson Marine; Simone Centola, International Lawyer at Gateway Law Corporation; Captain Robin Shellcock, yacht captain in Japan.

Discussion touched on the intricate legal landscape that owners and operators encounter daily, addressing essential areas such as Know Your Client and Anti-Money Laundering obligations, and the specifics of import/export compliance.

Generalisations on compliance were flagged as difficult to make due to different factors in each jurisdiction, thus relying on local expertise, adaptability and very close diligence.

Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit

The Discover Indonesia speakers were: Iswin Hudiarto, President Director at Task Cikaldana; Jasmine Chong, owner of the 45m Celestia and fashion designer; Boumedienne Senous, founder and CEO of Yacht Sourcing; Thye Hock Goh, superyacht captain (above). They discussed strategies to attract more superyachts, focusing on the existing regulatory framework and the need to further develop marina infrastructure.

All agreed that while Indonesia has made encouraging progress in positioning itself as a yachting destination, further frameworks and infrastructure development improvements are needed to fully realise its potential.

Lastly, there was a Question and Answers session with Giorgio Moretti, who owns a fleet of superyachts, ranging from 45.2m-71.8m, as well as the 44.5m sailing yacht. The entrepreneur, with interests in several companies and sectors, shared insights into his involvement in the superyacht sector, as well as his own serial yacht ownership.

These topics, informed speakers and ensuing discussions have prompted continued conversations and social media posts about how much the Summit has been appreciated across the industry.
