“Packing so much space and volume into a yacht under 30m while maintaining the sleek exterior styling we are accustomed to from Custom Line is astonishing,” Blackmore said. “In addition, the class-leading levels of stability and refinement made this yacht stand out from the competition. I do not see another yacht in this size segment that can truly compete.”

Featuring an overall length of 28.4m (93ft 3in) and beam of 7.31m (24ft), the Navetta 30 is the first Custom Line model with exterior design by Filippo Salvetti and interior styling by the Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel studio.

Launched in late 2020, the first Navetta 30 was sold to Hong Kong and arrived in the city in early 2021, while another hull was sold to Singapore in the second half of the year.

Dufour 61 is the brand’s new flagship

Dufour has debuted its new flagship 61 from the drawing board of Italy’s Felci Yacht Design. The Dufour 61 has a 60ft hull with an 18ft beam, an overall length of 63ft 1in and a waterline length of 57ft 10in, while features include a carbon-fibre arch incorporated into the deck structure.

The cockpit can be shaded by a bimini and features sofas either side of a foldable table, there’s a small step up to each side deck, while aft is a large drop-down swim platform that allows access to a barbecue and the central garage.

The coach roof has been designed to leave room for a clear, wide foredeck, while a bulwark is directly integrated in the boat’s hull. “Developed to provide simple instinctive sailing, exciting and efficient, this new model combines luxury and simplicity,” Dufour stated.

Romain Motteau, Deputy CEO of parent company Fountaine Pajot, said: “While we have kept everything that made up the quality of the Dufour 63, we have focused even more on performance and robustness on the new Dufour 61. This is the company’s new flagship, marking the increasingly important presence that Dufour has taken in the world of top-of-the-range yachting.

“This new ambassador for Dufour expertise belongs to the class of superyachts. With a very pleasing hull for sailing on the open ocean, two different drafts, the absolute comfort of the cockpit and interior layout, the extreme width of the saloon and a forward galley that is very functional when cruising, this new flagship will create a sensation.”

The interior features an open saloon with an L-shaped sofa and flexible table to port and a C-shaped sofa to starboard. The owner’s suite is forward and has an en-suite bathroom in the bow, while the VIP double is aft to starboard.

There are multiple options for the area between the saloon and owner’s suite, such as a full-beam galley or a C-shaped galley to port and a bunk cabin to starboard. Both forward-galley options feature a twin cabin aft to port.

Princess V50 “impeccable” in first sea trials

SHARE

Princess has announced feedback from sea trials of the V50, one of the British builder’s two world premieres at Boot Dusseldorf in January 2022.

The all-new Princess V50 replaces the outgoing model of the same name

Princess Yachts has announced the launch of the all-new Princess V50 and V50-Open models. The first V50 recently completed her initial sea trial in the manufacturer’s home of Plymouth, where the builder described its “impeccable performance, with sure-footed handling and a smooth ride”.

Featuring a deep-V hull, the new V50 replaces the popular model of the same name in the company’s V Class, which also includes the V40, V55, V60, V65 and V78. Designed by the Princess Design Studio with naval architects Olesinski and Italian design house Pininfarina, the V50 has been created using all-new hull, deck and canopy moulds to redefine one of the range’s core models.

The V50 is available with twin Volvo Penta IPS600 or IPS650 engines that can deliver speeds of over 30 knots and a longer cruising range than the outgoing model due to increased fuel capacity. New features include an extended canopy to provide more usable outdoor space.

The new V50 Deck Saloon will debut at Boot Düsseldorf (January 22-30, 2022), where it will be among the builder’s two world premieres with the X80.

Even though Ferretti Group racked up over US$1 billion in sales in the first nine months of 2021, CCO Stefano de Vivo says the Italian conglomerate is continuing to focus on advancing and widening its range of models to keep its iconic brands as front-runners in their sectors. Stefano De Vivo

Alberto Galassi said “I have never seen anything like this in my seven years as CEO” when talking about Ferretti Group’s recent sales figures, which include orders in the first nine months of 2021 exceeding €900 million (US$1 billion). What’s behind the current demand?

It looks like Covid has helped us convince everybody that they need a boat! Mr Galassi and I started as CEO and CCO in 2014 when the turnover of Ferretti Group was about €100 million and now you can see what our turnover will look like for 2021. For sure, the market is really good, and we’ve never seen sales going so well. It has been an incredible run for Ferretti Group, which has many new products, renewed many products and even created new segments in the market.

A current theme among builders is the struggle for production to keep up with demand. How is Ferretti Group managing?

I’ve worked in the industry for the best part of 20 years, so I don’t forget the Global Financial Crisis of 2008 and 2009. I also don’t forget the years before that, when it was a fantastic market growing like no tomorrow, although there was a lot of financing then and we’re not seeing that as much today, which is important.

Ferretti Yachts 500 in Hong Kong

However, we’re not in a rush to increase our capacity. There’s no need to double the moulds because who knows what’s going to happen tomorrow. It may be better to sell a few less because we still sell a super-exclusive product. If we were to double the mould, for example, of a Pershing 8X and we were to build 10 or 12 a year instead of four or five, would there be that many people ready to buy it? Maybe right now, but you’re diluting the brand.

Also, if you increase your production capacity, at some point you must make CapEx investments. We’ve already made those in recent years and we’re happy with our brands, models and the units we’re producing. If we increase more and you have a downturn, like 2008 and 2009, you’re going to be in a very difficult situation.

Pershing 6X was among the Group’s premieres at the Cannes Yachting Festival

However, we are expanding our range of models. Ferretti Yachts has gone up to 100ft with the 1000. When we bought Wally, we moved into the outboard sector, then this year we created the WHY200, which is a completely new segment. Pershing has great brand recognition, so we’re leveraging on that to create the TØ, which again is going to be a new segment when it’s introduced in 2022.

Remember, Covid has made many people buy boats for the first time and made people who had a boat decide to upgrade, but that doesn’t mean they’re going to change their boat every year. Our recent sales include 40 per cent to repeat clients, 20 per cent from the competition and 40 per cent first-time boat buyers. We’re not always going to have that increase each year.

After the Pershing 140 and Riva 50 Metri represented new flagships for both brands in 2019, Ferretti Yachts has enjoyed a lot of attention in 2021 with the 1000, its biggest model to date. How has it been received?

We’ve already sold at least 16 units (as of September 2021). However, for the reasons we’ve discussed, we’re aware sales are not always going to be like this.

Ferretti Group, Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Yachts, 1000, Pershing, Riva, Custom Line, Wally, Italy, Cannes Yachting Festival, WHY 200

Ferretti Yachts’ new flagship 1000 debuted in mid-2021

Ferretti Yachts had its 50th anniversary in 2018 and this year it deserved to be back in the spotlight because the 1000 is just something else. We even sold one over the Internet when there was complete lockdown at the beginning of Covid. It’s just a fantastic design, a fantastic layout and leveraged on the Group’s experience with the Riva 100’ Corsaro and the bigger Custom Lines.

Ferretti Yachts now has a real flagship for its clients. It has a tremendous number of clients who are affectionate to the brand and not all want to upgrade to a Custom Line. When we use the tagline, ‘Just like Home’ for Ferretti Yachts, it’s true. We try to think about that boat in a completely different way. You should feel like you’re at home.

It has recently been a new era for Ferretti Yachts with four models with exteriors by Filippo Salvetti and two, the 500 and 1000, with interiors by IdeaeItalia. How have the new designs been received?

We started this new path with the 850, with external design by Zuccon [International Project]. It was the first Ferretti Yachts model after I joined Ferretti Group at the same time as Mr Galassi. We completely changed the interior and went for a minimalistic interior. Some clients love it, but we probably overshot and were losing a little bit of our base.

Ferretti Group, Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Yachts, 1000, Pershing, Riva, Custom Line, Wally, Italy, Cannes Yachting Festival, WHY 200Ferretti Group, Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Yachts, 1000, Pershing, Riva, Custom Line, Wally, Italy, Cannes Yachting Festival, WHY 200

IdeaeItalia handled the interior of the Ferretti Yachts 1000 interiors

With the new design team, we have a great balance. Filippo Salvetti is doing a fantastic job, bringing new modern lines but not forgetting the heritage traits Ferrettis have always had. I think the 1000 is a beautiful boat to look at and it’s a very clever boat.

For the interiors, I think IdeaeItalia managed to find the balance we needed – modern, contemporary, with the option of a warm one and a lighter one, but not too extreme, not too minimalistic. As I said, ‘Just like Home’ must feel homely.

You said you expect Wally to be a cornerstone of the Ferretti Group business within three-five years. Since acquiring the brand, you’ve launched the 48 and 43wallytenders and WHY200, will debut the 58wallypower in January and are building some sailing yachts. It’s an iconic brand, but can it really reach production levels to financially compete with the likes of Riva, Ferretti Yachts and Custom Line?

Absolutely. Because if you think about it, having the niche brands – and Wally is one of them – you cannot build too many of the same thing. That’s why, for example, we could have doubled the line of a mould of a 48wallytender.

The 43wallytender X debuted in early 2021

Between the inboard and outboard version (X), we’ve now delivered 35 units (as of September 2021) and sold more. We could have sold many more, but we don’t want to do it. We’ve limited our production to a mix of inboard and outboards of about 12-15 units a year. If you have 15 units of the 48wallytender in the same place, you’re not going to feel very special after you bought something top of the range. That’s why we don’t over produce.

However, Wally can become as large as we’re predicting because we can build the various Wallytenders, more Wallypower models, WHY range models, the big 165 Wallypower we designed with Espen Øino, plus full custom boats in steel and aluminium. We can build any range we want.

Ferretti Group, Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Yachts, 1000, Pershing, Riva, Custom Line, Wally, Italy, Cannes Yachting Festival, WHY 200

The first Wally 101 sloop was sold in early 2021

We also have sailing, which is the cherry on the cake. The brand was born with sailing and it can bring nice revenues, plus we have a Wally class that can show how our performance cruisers are more comfortable to cruise than our competitors’. They’re also the fastest to race because you’re going to be faster if you use carbon in the best manner, like if you design with the knowledge of Wally’s design team and the naval architects we use.

Having launched Riva’s Flybridge range with the 90’ Argo, 100’ Corsaro and 110’ Dolcevita and then added the 50 Metri, there has been a focus on smaller Rivas this year. In the Sportfly range, there’s the upgraded 76’ Perseo Super, while the Open range now includes the 68’ Diable with a hardtop, while hardtops were added to the [48ft] Dolceriva and 56’ Rivale. Why did you start adding cover to Open models?

More and more people don’t want to be in the sun all the time and a hardtop just makes it so much easier. You always have some shade and if you need more shade, it’s easy to fit an extra bimini, which looks better with a hardtop than on an Open boat. Rivas are super sleek, super beautiful, but we finally convinced ourselves that we’d have to accept a little compromise in beauty, as a boat with a hardtop is never going to be as beautiful as a boat without.

Ferretti Group, Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Yachts, 1000, Pershing, Riva, Custom Line, Wally, Italy, Cannes Yachting Festival, WHY 200

Riva’s new 68’ Diable incorporates a hardtop

The American market was a push, while it’s so hot in Asia Pacific, although in Hong Kong people have started using small open boats for water-skiing and wakesurfing, and for fun and swimming. In the Med, people sneered at hardtops, but clients are starting to ask us to fit the hardtops. I think it’s a compromise you need to accept.

What else is coming from Riva?

We’ve got the 130’, a 300GT planing yacht that fills the gap between the 110’ Dolcevita and 50 Metri, and some large custom projects in discussion. We’ve also got a couple of models to restyle. For example, the 100’ Corsaro is going to become the 102’. Again, we sold so many units that we decided it’s time to make it a little bit different. The Corsaro is beautiful, but the 102’ will have some different features.

Ferretti Group, Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Yachts, 1000, Pershing, Riva, Custom Line, Wally, Italy, Cannes Yachting Festival, WHY 200Ferretti Group, Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Yachts, 1000, Pershing, Riva, Custom Line, Wally, Italy, Cannes Yachting Festival, WHY 200

Riva debuted the 76’ Perseo Super at Cannes

The 76’ Bahamas (Open range flagship) will have a restyle, just as the Perseo 76’ had – they’re built on the same platform.

For Pershing, the new 6X completes the X line and the TØ is the next range, starting with a 35m (115ft) model. What can you tell us about it?

Hull one of the 115 will be at the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show. It’s going to be a nice range. TØ is like an SUV concept. Pershing is the sports car of the seas, so the TØ is going to be like the Lamborghini Urus or Porsche Cayenne.

The first Pershing TØ under construction

People still want amazing design and speed, and although this will be slightly reduced because of the size and volume, it will still be the fastest sport boat on the market apart from the Pershing X range. It’s going to have incredible volume inside and outdoor space, a garage for the tender, and just be a great way to enjoy the sea.

Custom Line is very strong in Asia-Pacific, with hull one of the new Navetta 30 delivered to Hong Kong this year and one recently sold to Singapore. It’s also Ferretti Group’s next brand to introduce a new flagship, with the 140’ set for 2022. What should we look out for on the 140’?

The 140’ is a planing craft and will leverage on the shape of the 120’, which has a fantastic hull, as the wave-piercing bow and hydrodynamics give you great performance at speed. The hull can cut through waves nicely but also works well at slower speeds. The 140’ is also going to use the 2,600hp MTU engines, so it’s ready for when SCR (selective catalytic reduction) systems are compulsory from 2023.

Ferretti Group, Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Yachts, 1000, Pershing, Riva, Custom Line, Wally, Italy, Cannes Yachting Festival, WHY 200

The Custom Line 140’ will be the brand’s flagship

We’ve managed this because we’ve used carbon-fibre for the superstructure for the upper deck and sun deck. Also, thanks to the knowledge gained through Pershing, we’re investing in making light-construction furniture. This lowers the weight so much that we can use the smaller engines and still go 23 knots, so less fuel, less costs. It also reduces the draft, which is great for the US, parts of Asia, and many other markets.

What can you tell us about the new green-focused models Ferretti Group is developing?

It will be on a semi-displacement or fast displacement model. We’re looking at combining solar power, hybrid engines, batteries and other ideas.

Ferretti Group is working to find alternative ways and means of propulsion. We’re working with some of the largest companies on the planet to find things that really make an impact. We’re using more carbon-fibre to reduce weight and improving insulation to reduce air-conditioning.

Ferretti Group, Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Yachts, 1000, Pershing, Riva, Custom Line, Wally, Italy, Cannes Yachting Festival, WHY 200

Wally’s WHY200 premiered at Cannes in September

Ferretti Group, our clients and many other people are realising we’re all part of this ecosystem and we need to do whatever we can. Our clients enjoy the sea, so if you realise that you’re affecting it, you want to make a difference. And as yachts are a luxury product, owners can afford to spend a bit more to do the right thing.

More people are asking about sustainability now than they used to, for sure. Clients ask about insulation and how we’re achieving less emissions. We’re very happy to show them, along with what we’ve done in our production facilities to reduce the energy we use. We’ve invested over €30 million to increase capacity but also to put geothermic energy so we can reduce our energy consumption by over 20 per cent. That really makes a difference.

Finally, how are Ferretti Group orders in Asia-Pacific?

The market made up 11 per cent of sales in 2020. It was a larger percentage before, but it mainly reduced because the other markets grew a lot, grew even more. Hong Kong is a big part of the APAC market and had the protests in 2019 and 2020, then the initial part of Covid before rising last year. I think we’ll see great sales for 2021.

The first Custom Line Navetta 30 arrived in Hong Kong in early 2021

The total sales for APAC have been increasing, but it’s a case of what the area’s sales are a percentage of, whether it’s €600 million, €800 million, €1 billion and so on.

The Italian superyacht builder has revealed details of the first B.Now 50M, part of a new steel series that also includes 58m, 66m and 72m models.

Benetti has revealed details of Iryna, the first B.Now 50M from the Italian builder’s new range of steel superyachts. British studio RWD has designed the 499GT superyacht along with 58m, 66m and 72m models, which all have a reduced construction time due to advanced construction technology and sharing a sinuous hull whose profile marries the interior and exterior decks with elongated windows.

All four models can be built with the Oasis Deck®, which builds on the success of the Oasis 40M by offering drop-down wings, a built-in pool in the beach area, a 270-degree field of view astern and from the saloon, plus a mix of sunlight and shade that enables guests to enjoy the deck at all times of day.

Built for a repeat Azimut-Benetti owner, the 164ft Iryna offers access to the water with a 390sqft beach club and an infinity pool, as well as a steam room. Nearly half the liveable surface area is outdoors.

The interiors are the result of collaboration between Benetti’s Interior Style Department and Visionnaire, the studio chosen by the owner. The claddings and ceiling panels are made with the finest woods, such as silk-coloured satin-finish frisé maple contrasting with oak. An ivory-coloured leather was chosen for the ceiling, while palladium, a precious metal in the platinum group, is used in manually applied, leaf-shaped satin-finish details.

Key features include the gym on the upper deck, the roomy relaxation and sunbathing spaces, and the alfresco dining area on the main deck, which also has an indoor saloon with a lounge and dining zone, as well as the owners’ suite with private balcony in the bow.

The hull was designed by P.L.A.N.A Design in collaboration with Azimut-Benetti, the top speed is 15 knots and the range is 4,500nm at 12 knots. The external garage forward of the main deck can house a 6.25m tender, a jet ski, a rescue craft and four Seabobs.

Sanlorenzo has signed a contract for a diesel-electric 72Steel, the Italian shipyard’s largest yacht to date. The sale of the five-deck, 1,850GT superyacht was finalised through Edmiston and will be delivered to its European owner in 2025.

The sale of the new model crowns a record-breaking 2021 for Sanlorenzo’s Superyacht Division, which has closed 15 contracts to date this year including the recent sales of two more units of the 62Steel.

Antonio Santella, New Product Development Director of Sanlorenzo’s Superyacht Division, said: “The 72Steel is aiming to become one of the new protagonists of the Sanlorenzo range, thanks to the hybrid diesel-electric engine system, which confirms again the company’s increasing attention to the future, constantly studying concrete solutions to reduce the impact of its yachts.

“The hybrid diesel-electric engine system represents a combination of innovative solutions which make it possible to significantly reduce emissions into the atmosphere and the sea, ensure high levels of comfort and rationalise the spaces dedicated to the engine area in favour of the internal volume available for owners and guests, thus presenting itself as a new paradigm for superyachts of this size.”

Princess will host the world premieres of the X80 and V50 at Boot Dusseldorf (January 22-30), where it will also feature the show debuts of the brand’s flagship X95 and the Y72, which had its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. The F55 and V55 round out the British builder’s six-yacht display at the world’s biggest indoor boat show.

Designed with Olesinski and Pininfarina, the X80 is the sister ship to the X95 and features an extended flybridge that provides 30 per cent more indoor space than a traditional motor yacht. The X80 includes an enclosed bridge and skylounge on the upper deck, and an optional master stateroom forward on the main deck.

Antony Sheriff, Executive Chairman of Princess Yachts, said: “Princess Yachts is thrilled to see the return of the much-anticipated Boot Düsseldorf in 2022 and eagerly awaits the opportunity to be back with the team at Messe Düsseldorf in person.

“We will be at Düsseldorf with an innovative range of boats that encapsulate everything we are about – improved efficiency and seakeeping, innovative packaging, and the extraordinary elegance of design for which we are renowned. With our full X Class range on display, as well as the all-new V50 and the Y72, we look forward to showing how we continue to push the boundaries in yacht design.”

The all-new V50, available as a deck saloon or open model, replaces the original V50. Crafted with a new hull mould, the sports yacht features new interior fixtures and fittings as seen on the V55, while an extended canopy increases the shaded area in the aft cockpit.

Princess is on a sustainability journey and remains committed to bringing environmental initiatives to the forefront of the brand’s ethos with the launch of the Princess X95 hybrid system in collaboration with MAN engines, while other initiatives include the trial and testing of all-new eco-friendly fabrics for the full range of models.

The Princess stand will also host art installations from the brand’s partners including Ecoworks Marine, Oceanographic and Salcombe Distilling.

The French builder will exhibit different units of the new Swift Trawler flagship at boat shows in Europe and the US in early 2022.

Beneteau will stage the world premiere of its Swift Trawler 48 at the 2022 edition of Boot Dusseldorf (January 22-30), where the unit on display will feature twin 380hp Cummins engines. A unit with 425hp Cummins engines will then be exhibited in the US at the Miami International Boat Show (February 16-20).

The Swift Trawler 48 by Andreani Design the succeeds the 47 as the flagship of the range of seaworthy passage makers. The 48 is 14.74m long overall and has a beam of 4.50m, while its profile features the new stainless framed teak-slat fashion plates, aligned with those on the Grand Trawler 62.

The Swift Trawler 48 is rated for 12 persons in CE Category B. The hull has been designed for sea-kindly behaviour and performance, while the slender, flared bow cuts through the sea, resulting in efficient fuel consumption and safe handling.

MICAD naval architects have designed a semi-planing hull that increases fuel efficiency across the speed range. With 1,930 litres of fuel on board, the range is expected to be over 600nm at nine knots displacement speed or 280nm at 18 knots efficient planing speed while retaining a fuel reserve of 10 per cent.

The fuel capacity and range, in combination with 640 litres of fresh water, allows for considerable autonomy away from the dock.

The range’s DNA is focused on comfortable and economic cruising, although the standard option of twin 380hp Cummins QSB 6.7-litre engines allows a top speed of 21 knots, with the 425hp engines giving a top speed of 25 knots.

Beneteau, Swift Trawler, 48, debut, premiere, flagship, Andreani, MICAD, Boot Dusseldorf, Miami, boat, show, 2022

The aft cockpit can fit a folding table, two director chairs and a large bench seat, while the foot-pedal operated sliding flybridge stairs, starboard acrylic ‘wind stopper’ door and overhead handrail are among functional features.

The double transom gate opens onto a large swim platform with an optional hydraulic lifting system able to carry a 350kg dinghy, while the bathing ladder has swimming-pool handrails.

The generous flybridge offers 215sqft of floor area. Adjustable backrests at the forward end of L-shaped sofas either side of the helm enable guests to either face the table area or forward, such as during passage making.

Beneteau, Swift Trawler, 48, debut, premiere, flagship, Andreani, MICAD, Boot Dusseldorf, Miami, boat, show, 2022

Options include a flybridge T-top with inset sliding soft-top. Aft is a transverse wetbar facing forward, while the aft flybridge space allows for sun loungers or toys.

The foredeck includes the option of a sunpad with lift-up sections creating forward seating. The asymmetrical deck layout allows for a wide, well-protected starboard side deck with high bulwarks.

The interior is accessed through patio doors and includes a large, L-shaped aft galley aft to port with a full-height 255-litre fridge freezer and large overhead lockers outboard. The standard galley has a gas oven or optional multi-function electric oven, a clever ‘magic corner’ pull-out stowage unit, cupboards and drawers, plus space for an optional dishwasher.

Beneteau, Swift Trawler, 48, debut, premiere, flagship, Andreani, MICAD, Boot Dusseldorf, Miami, boat, show, 2022

The raised-edge Corian worktop features a gas or induction cooktop and large sink. Opposite the galley is a spacious sideboard with cupboards and an internal bottle rack. The sideboard can be configured with an icemaker, Villeroy & Boch crockery stowage and an illuminated glassware cupboard above.

Forward of the galley is a large, raised U-shaped dinette providing seating for up to eight with great views all around and in social proximity to the helm. The aft end of the seat has space for a 23-bottle wine chiller. On the portside dashtop, the large stowage unit can house a 40in TV.

The helm station with adjacent side door leading to the starboard midships cleat and bulwark gate allows for easy docking and circulation. The helm has space for two 12in Raymarine MFD screens and the Beneteau Ship Control system.

Beneteau, Swift Trawler, 48, debut, premiere, flagship, Andreani, MICAD, Boot Dusseldorf, Miami, boat, show, 2022

In addition, an aft docking camera, stern docking lights and the Cummins integrated joystick system can be specified. The helm dashtop, console and adjustable pilot seat are finished in dark grey.

The Swift Trawler 48 can easily sleep up to eight persons in three cabins on the lower deck and the saloon dinette, which easily converts into a double bed with wrap-around privacy curtains as standard.

On the lower deck, the forward owner’s cabin features a double berth that lifts to reveal stowage underneath. There are overhead lockers and wardrobes, large hull windows with inset portlights and an overhead hatch which offer natural light and ventilation. The en-suite bathroom includes a separate shower cubicle with teak-slatted seat.

Beneteau, Swift Trawler, 48, debut, premiere, flagship, Andreani, MICAD, Boot Dusseldorf, Miami, boat, show, 2022

The port guest cabin benefits from a large hull window with inset portlight, stowage, wardrobe and two single berths with an infill to make up a double berth. This cabin also features an en-suite door to the portside day head, which also features a separate shower cubicle with teak-slatted seat.

The starboard guest cabin has two portlights, a transverse double berth and a double door wardrobe that’s large enough to house an optional washer/dryer.

The standard joinery is teak, while oak is an option. In addition, the sideboard doors, owner and port cabin wardrobe doors can be specified with wood or crème slatted doors with inset panels. www.beneteau.com www.simpsonmarine.com

Hong Kong-headquartered Asiamarine has acquired the majority of its partner company in Thailand, where Vincent Tabuteau will transition into retirement and his son Benjamin will become General Manager (Thailand).

Asiamarine staff including founder Eric Noyel (standing, centre) and Ben and Vincent Tabuteau (back row, fourth and fifth left)

Five years after their initial partnership, Hong Kong-headquartered Asiamarine is now fully integrating Thailand-based Asia Marine within its group. Asiamarine was founded by Eric Noyel in 2013 and has offices in Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and the Philippines; Asia Marine (Thailand) will adopt the Asiamarine brand identity across its offline and digital activities.

Vincent Tabuteau founded Asia Marine in 1989 and, during a transitional period, will oversee activities in Thailand, where his son Benjamin is now General Manager of Asiamarine (Thailand).

“I started the company when the yachting industry in Phuket was focused on traditional sailing boats. We have been leaders in yacht charter from wooden ‘junks’ to bare boat fleets and fast motor yachts,” Vincent said.

“The yachting world has changed, and a new approach is needed to ride the next wave. I am glad to work with our trusted partner Eric Noyel and my son Benjamin on this evolution of the company to execute this vision of a wider and more sales driven strategy.”

Asiamarine’s portfolio for new sales includes Galeon motor yachts, Bali Catamarans, Swedish builder Nimbus, Tigé wake surf boats and Wellcraft fishing boats. It also represents Fraser, one of the world’s leading global superyacht brokerage houses.

Asiamarine and Fraser Thailand have offices in Phuket Boat Lagoon and Yacht Haven, where Operations Manager Adam Taylor will run the company’s service and charter base. A new office at Ocean Marina Yacht Club in Pattaya will strengthen the company’s presence in Bangkok and areas.

Benjamin, who was born in Phuket, said: “We will continue to offer quality services for yachts of all sizes including our bare boat fleet, day trips and overnight charter yachts, brokerage and yacht management activities, as well as representing Fraser superyacht services.”

Noyel, CEO of Asiamarine, said: “A clear focus is given on dealership and brokerage sales, building on the solid foundations which made the reputation of reliability and technical prowess of the company as a charter, repair and yacht management specialist.”

Since 2018, Asiamarine has represented Fraser, which has over 200 personnel and 20 offices around the globe, while its services include yacht sales, charter, yacht management, crew and construction, specialising in yachts over 24m.

Burgess has announced that it sold four yachts in seven days. Teams in Asia, Europe and the US all secured sales that amounted to over 166m in total length and a total value just under €65 million (about US$74 million) according to last-known asking prices.

The third of the four sales was by Burgess Asia, which represented the seller of the 34m Feadship Moon Sand Too. The 111ft ‘lagoon cruiser’ joined the Burgess sales fleet in August and was sold three months later.

The first of the four global sales was the new 55m Damen Yacht Support vessel Time Off, with Burgess’ Palma office taking control of the sale and representing the seller. Time Off was on the market for just under a year and was available for delivery from July 2021.

Next up was the 44m Bloemsma van Breeman motor yacht Arete, which joined the Burgess sales fleet in March and was sold eight months later, with the Miami team bringing the buyer and representing the seller.

The finale of what Burgess described as “the perfect week” was the sale of Ribelle, the 32.6m Vitters performance sailing yacht.

Jonathan Beckett, CEO of Burgess, said: “The past 13 or 14 months have been pretty extraordinary, almost relentless in the sales market. Yachts have been selling at really good prices. We are delighted with the current sprint to the finishing line of 2021, but we aren’t there yet. There are still more deals to be done as we enter December.”

Earlier this year, Burgess Asia announced its 20th transaction since it was formed under Singapore-based Jean-Marc Poullet in 2015. Its operation includes about 20 staff in five offices (Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Phuket and Mumbai) and a dedicated Asia desk in Monaco.

Lürssen has delivered the 115m Ahpo (formerly Project Enzo), which left the shipyard in late November and embarked on her maiden voyage.

Ahpo has been built for a repeat client who previously owned an 86m Lürssen. For the exterior and interior design, the owner once again used Nuvolari Lenard, while Moran Yacht & Ship managed and supervised the project.

Peter Lürssen said: “The owner’s brief was demanding. However, we believe our engineering expertise has surpassed his wishes to own a yacht that many years from now will be timeless and yet still ahead of its time.”

The yacht’s state-of-the art technology and engineering systems include a heat recovery system in the generators that heats the water for the pool, leading to reduced electrical power and emissions/ Dynamic positioning enables electronic anchoring in sensitive and remote areas, protecting the seabed and allowing for safe mooring regardless of water depth.
