Shows: Port Vieux at the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival
The superyacht focus also follows the return of the Monaco Yacht Show after a two-year gap, along with the Cannes Yachting Festival, which attracted 54,000-plus visitors over six days, matching the record set in 2019. Yacht Style is a media partner of both shows, which are both favourites for yacht lovers in Asia and are profiled in this issue.
Leader: Stefano de Vivo, CCO Ferretti Group
Ferretti Group staged four premieres at Cannes as well as showing the new Ferretti Yachts 1000 (cover, Issue 61). In Leader, Yacht Style interviews Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Group’s CCO and Managing Director of Asia Pacific, who says that despite record sales, the Group is still focused on advancing its range of models to keep its brands as front-runners.
Profile: Simpson Marine
Profile focuses on Simpson Marine, the region’s biggest dealer but which has recently moved to a new level, following a then-record sales year in 2020 with an even better 2021 and plans to further expand.
Review: Azimut Grande Trideck
Our six Reviews of new models in this issue are all of yachts that had world premieres at Cannes and include Azimut’s new flagship Trideck, which also showed at Monaco and made its US debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show at the end of October.
Review: YYachts Tripp 90
The custom-built, all-carbon Tripp 90 sailing yacht from YYachts is a remarkable model, with a slightly adapted semi-production version to follow. Designer Bill Tripp gave Yacht Style a guided tour of the carbon 90-footer, which features a Winch Design interior.
Review: Bluegame BG72
Bluegame’s BG72 (click to read more) – which also appeared at the Monaco Yacht Show – combines the huge aft platform and lower-deck saloon of the Italian brand’s ground-breaking BGX series with the open style of its BG range.
Review: Prestige 690
Meanwhile, Yacht Style’s sea-trial of the Prestige 690 during its world premiere at Cannes was elevated by the presence of Brand Director Erwin Bamps and designer Camillo Garroni, who explained how the upgrade of the F-Line flagship was influenced by the X70.
Review: Absolute 60 Fly
Italy’s Absolute debuted two new models at Cannes including the 60 Fly (click to read more), which has solar power on hull one, while key features include modular furniture on the two aft decks and a master suite forward on the lower level.
Review: Fairline F//Line 33
There’s also a Review of the revised edition of the Fairline F//Line 33. Two years after the launch of its fastest boat, the British builder has reworked the design to return with a new version driven by customer demand.
