Sanlorenzo launched its ‘smart performance’ series with the world premiere of the SP110, which was unveiled along with the SD90 among the builder’s 10 boats at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The two-deck 108-footer is Sanlorenzo’s first open coupé and marks its entry into the world of sport yachts, with a top speed of 40 knots when employing all three 2,000hp MAN V12 engines.

However, the yacht is also designed to be particularly efficient at various cruising speeds and uses a fractional propulsion system, so it can either use two or even just one of the engines. The boat is equipped with an energy recovery system that uses monocrystalline solar panels, while the extensive use of lightweight materials further improves consumption and performance.

Tilli Antonelli coordinated the design of the SP110, which features exterior lines by Studio Zuccon International Project, interior by Sanlorenzo’s in-house Art Director Piero Lissoni and a hull design by Marco Arnaboldi optimised for use with hydrojet propulsion.

The yacht features a huge aft platform that leads down to a lower-deck lounge and cabins, and up several steps to the main saloon in a distinctive atrium-style design.

The SD90 is new entry-level yacht for a semi-displacement series that includes the SD96 and SD118 and features an exterior by Zuccon, interior by Patricia Urquiola and hull design in collaboration with Philippe Briand.

The Italian builder premiered the Grande 26 Metri and 36 Metri superyachts among 15 models at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival.

Azimut Grande 26 Metri

Azimut staged the world premieres of the Grande 26 Metri and Grande 36 Metri at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, where it announced that both superyachts joined the builder’s series of Low Emission Yachts. Both new Grande superyachts feature exterior styling by Alberto Mancini and interiors by Achille Salvagni, who both worked on the shipyard’s 38m flagship Grande Trideck that debuted in 2021.

Azimut showed the Grande 26 Metri and Grande 36 Metri as part of a large display at Cannes along with the Grande Trideck, Grande 32 Metri, Grande 27 Metri, Magellano 66, Fly 78, Fly 72, Fly 60, Fly 50, Fly 53, S10, S8, S6 and Atlantis 51. The Magellano 30 Metri was also scheduled to debut at Cannes, but didn’t attend due to owner use.

The shipyard’s decade-long commitment to reducing emissions is focused on reducing weight by using more carbon-fibre, research into increasingly efficient hulls, and alternative propulsion systems. Azimut says 50 per cent of models in its full range are now Low Emission Yachts, which it defines as those with 20 per cent less emissions than the market average.

The Grande 26 Metri is the shipyard’s first model to feature the new Pod 4600 propulsion system in partnership with ZF, which combines with a 30 per cent lighter superstructure – due to the extensive use of carbon-fibre – to deliver 20 per cent lower fuel consumption than other yachts of the same size at the most frequently set speeds.

The 86-footer has a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck, four guest cabins on the lower deck, and separate flows for guests and crew, as is the case on superyachts. Its signature feature is the Deck2Deck™ Terrace, formed when the transom raises to main-deck level to expand the aft cockpit, allowing it to be used as a lounge space or a dining area with a walkaround table.

The Grande 36 Metri also joins the Low Emission Yachts series due extensive use of carbon-fibre in the superstructure and a D2P® Displacement-to-Planing hull, designed with Pierluigi Ausonio Naval Architecture. Azimut says both factors help reduce CO2 emissions by up to 30 per cent compared to boats of the same weight and size with a traditional chine hull.

The 116-footer features an upper deck that runs on the same level from the stern to the tip of the bow and an ‘infinity sky deck’, with the glazed surfaces in the skylounge retracting to open views on three sides.

Marine Italia, which represents Azimut in Hong Kong, Macau, Guangdong, Taiwan and Singapore, has already sold a Grande 26 Metri scheduled to arrive in Hong Kong next year and a Magellano 30 Metri expected in the city in 2024. The dealer’s recent superyacht sales also include a Grande Trideck scheduled to arrive in Singapore in 2023.

Jeanneau Yachts 65

Port Canto’s Sailing Zone is playing host to the world premieres of new sailing flagships from Beneteau and Jeanneau at year’s Cannes Yachting Festival. The Jeanneau Yachts 65 (Review, Issue 66) is the brand’s new flagship, the model appearing a year after the 60 and ahead of the upcoming 55, all three designed by Philippe Briand and Winch Design. Like the 60, the 65 offers numerous semi-custom options including a hard top with sliding sunroof.

Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 60 & First 44

Beneteau’s Oceanis Yacht 60 is designed by Italians Roberto Biscontini and Lorenzo Argento – who also collaborated on the First Yacht 53 and Oceanis Yacht 54 – and the new flagship’s notable features include a master cabin in the bow with a forward-facing bed. The same design team are behind Beneteau’s other world premiere, the First 44, a cruiser-racer with the option of a performance version with a different mast and rig.

Sunseeker 100 Yacht

Sunseeker’s 100 Yacht is the biggest new motor yacht to emerge from the UK this year and the star of the Poole builder’s display at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival. The first hull was only delivered in the summer, yet the yard revealed at least 15 sales before its world premiere. Powered by twin MTU 12V 2000 M96X or 16V 2000 M96L engines, the 100 Yacht can reach up to 29 knots.

Notable features include a flybridge with complete walk-around access from bow to stern, while the forward area has two separate seating arrangements and cinema-screen capability. The full-beam master suite forward on the main deck is another standout zone, with floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides and a signature glass atrium door forward that leads up to a private bow terrace.

Prestige M48

Among Groupe Beneteau brands, Prestige’s M48 is among the most anticipated world premieres at Cannes, as one of the first powercats by a leading monohull builder, albeit one with Lagoon as a sister company. Designed by long-time Prestige designer Garroni Design of Italy with French naval architect Philippe Briand, the 14.8m yacht is tall and thin, with just a 6m beam, while options include a full-beam master suite forward.

Prestige X60

Prestige is also showing the X60, which debuted at this year’s Miami International Boat Show. Like the flagship X70, the X60 also has a swim platform with drop-down sofa, a clear balustrade and long covered cockpit, although unlike its widebody big sister, it does have one side deck, to port. Other new features include a sliding door on the port side of the saloon.

Jeanneau DB/43

Jeanneau’s DB/43 is an exciting newcomer as the brand enters the premium dayboat market with its flagship motorboat, reuniting Garroni and American naval architect Michael Peters, who collaborated on current Leader and NC models. Dropdown sides expand the width to 18ft 6in, the flexible aft sofa can fold down to become a sunpad, while the two cabins below include an aft master with a double and a sofa or single bed to starboard.

Jeanneau Merry Fisher 1295 Fly

Jeanneau’s premieres also include the Cap Camarat 10.5 CC and Merry Fisher 1295 Fly, which is 7ft longer than the series’ former flagship, the Merry Fisher 1095. The 1295 Fly features three 300hp Yamaha outboard engines, while eye-catching features include a drop-down platform to starboard and three integrated sun loungers on the foredeck.

Beneteau Swift Trawler 48

Beneteau’s highlights among its 16-boat line-up at Cannes include the new Swift Trawler 48, which debuted at Miami. The model by Andreani Design succeeds the 47 as the flagship of the Swift Trawler range of seaworthy passage makers. A MICAD-designed hull helps provide a 600nm-plus range at nine knots with twin Cummins engines, with the 425hp options giving a top speed of 25 knots.

Leopard 46 Powercat

Leopard’s newest model on display at Cannes is the 46 Powercat (Review, Issue 65), which debuted at Miami and is among the brand’s full fleet of power and sailing models at Cannes. Following the 53 launched in 2020, the 46 is the second of a new three-model powercat line-up and its features include the brand’s signature large flybridge and a door to the foredeck.

Riva is debuting multiple models including the 76’ Bahamas Super and the 102’ Corsaro Super, both upgrades of previous models. Based on the 100’ Corsaro, the 102’ Corsaro Super’s changes include increased glazing, two saloon layouts and an extended 35sqm beach club, part of almost 100sqm of liveable open-air spaces.

Riva Anniversario

The iconic shipyard’s 180th anniversary has inspired the new Anniversario. Part of Riva’s Open range, the 33-footer pays tribute to the legendary Aquarama and has a limited-edition run of just 18 boats.

The Ferretti Yachts 860 is another world premiere. The builder’s third-biggest model behind the 920 and flagship 1000 is also the third featuring both exterior design by architect Filippo Salvetti and an interior by IdeaeItalia. The new wallypower58 is on display at Cannes after debuting at this year’s Venice Boat Show. It’s the first wallypower model launched by Ferretti Group since it bought Wally and takes design cues from the recent wallytender48 and wallytender43, while foldout sides expand the aft deck. Look out for the ‘magic portholes’ on each side.

CGI of Sanlorenzo SP110

Sanlorenzo’s large display at Cannes includes the world premieres of the pioneering SP110 open coupé and SD90/s. The eye-catching SP110 kicks off a new ‘smart performance’ range and has a huge aft deck with a fold-down swim platform revealing integrated steps. The 33m model has a lower-deck saloon like recent Bluegame models, yet takes this a step further with an atrium-style, two-level interior. It also has a fractional propulsion system, so the yacht can move using one, two or all three of its engines.

ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove

Already accredited as a Platinum 5 Gold Anchor and Level 4 Clean Water marina, ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove (ONE°15) is hosting a month-long campaign in September dedicated to building awareness on ocean conservation, with a focus on sharks, stingrays and corals.

Building on its many sustainability initiatives including annual eco-dives and lining with its 15th-anniversary celebrations, ONE°15 wants the Eco Month to engage, educate and empower the public with the knowledge of how to help protect seas and coastlines.

Jonathan Sit, General Manager of ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, said: “Water provides us with sustenance and leisure. It’s only natural we take the responsibility to solidify our efforts towards sustainability one step at time.

“We are on a mission to educate our members and the public on how everyone can play their part in being eco-conscious. On this note, it is timely that we celebrate our 15th-year milestone by shining the spotlight on key marine life and show how the luxurious and the sustainable can co-exist in many ways.”

A Seabin at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove

A Coral Garden tour, scheduled to be held on September 11, will allow participants to learn about the marina’s coral restoration efforts and watch a new sea bin in operation, with the technology supplementing existing routines for cleaning the surface of the water.

On the same day, the marina will also host an Eco Talk with Sam Shu Qin, ONE°15’s Eco Advisor, who will explain how coral reefs contribute to the ecosystem while also recounting her expeditions as a marine scientist.

Throughout the month, ONE°15 is hosting an exhibition about sharks, stingrays and corals, revealing why they’re vital indicators of the ocean’s health.

In tandem with the exhibition, the marina is running a social media campaign focused on fun facts about marine conservation while encouraging the community to take charge of their own carbon and plastic footprint. To incentivise engagement, weekly giveaways will be held on social media and participants have the chance to win F&B vouchers and hotel nights at the marina.

Coral Garden

In conjunction with Eco Month, ONE°15 will also launch the Coral Garden Volunteer Program in a bid to make the project more sustainable and allow more members to enjoy it. Since the launch of the Coral Garden in 2018, ONE°15 has grown and transplanted over 239 different coral fragments in the joint project with the Tropical Marine Science Institute at National University of Singapore.

ONE°15 is also working to bring sustainability to on-land operations and recently installed an indoor vertical vegetable farm within one of its restaurants, adding to efforts to adopt sustainable food sources into its F&B operations.

The marina’s ongoing eco efforts include elimination of single-use plastics such as straws, takeaway containers, cutlery, hotel room toiletries and bin liners. The marina has pledged to eliminate all single-use plastics from operations by 2025, while upsized recycle bins have also been put in place at the marina to encourage more recycling of waste.

The Y72 on show will feature a new interior fabric range including materials from more sustainable sources than traditionally used fabrics, a taste of the builder’s upcoming Environmental and Sustainability Programme.

However, the all-new F65 will be the star attraction as it “sets the direction for an all-new design language for the F Class, with an emphasis on sculptural surfaces and lengthened feature lines”, according to Princess.

The F65’s extended knife-edge hull window running from the bow is part of a coherent look across new and upcoming products within the Princess range, while the interior styling offers “a light and airy atmosphere … establishing a contemporary feel”, the builder says.

Will Green, Executive Director, Sales and Marketing for Princess Yachts, said: “The Southampton International Boat Show has always been extremely important to Princess and it marks the start of the new selling season, often setting the direction for the year ahead.
