The Italian superyacht builder has splashed Calex, a full-custom 67m megayacht with exterior styling by Giorgio Cassetta.

The 67m Calex has six decks

Benetti has launched the 67m Calex in Livorno ahead of a scheduled delivery to its Californian owner this spring. Featuring a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the bespoke megayacht has exterior styling by Italian studio Cassetta, headed by Giorgio Cassetta, with Benetti’s Style Department handling the interiors, which feature extensive use of maple and American walnut, ivory-coloured leathers, marble and decorative cushions with Loro Piana Interiors Fabrics.

Calex features five enclosed decks linked by a lift, as well as a sun deck. The beach club has a gullwing door that opens to illuminate the interior area, while a long, swing-down hatch to starboard provides access to the water and adds light. Steps leads to the main deck and an open-air lounge aft, while the interior has a saloon, dining area, galley and two large VIP cabins. The lower deck has four guest cabins and accommodation for 16 crew featuring similar decor to guest areas.

Calex will be delivered to its owner in spring

The upper deck is dedicated to the owner and includes a large master cabin with an elegant double bathroom, a private office and walk-in wardrobe. Two curved, automatic sliding doors open onto an exclusive lounge furnished with chaises longues, armchairs, a table and an original gas fireplace. The foredeck can also be used as a touch-and-go helicopter pad. Aft on the same deck is an interior lounge with a TV, and an open area with a dining table and seating area.

The bridge deck has an outdoor space containing a lounge area furnished with a bar, sofas, TV cabinet and barbecue and is served by a pantry, while forward is the captain’s cabin and wheelhouse with a touchscreen console designed by Telemar. The sun deck features gym equipment and a Jacuzzi.

The propulsion is Benetti’s first on a full custom yacht this size to fully comply with Tier III regulations, so is fitted with a scrubbing system for the exhaust gases from the propulsion and generating systems.

Dynamiq has appointed Boats IQ as its brand representative in Southeast Asia. Headquartered in Singapore, Boats IQ represents multiple brands including Sunreef and Prestige, and is headed by Managing Director Martin McIntyre, a lifelong boater who has worked in the yacht industry for two decades.

“We are proud and excited that Boats IQ is now representing the spectacular Dynamiq brand in Southeast Asia,” McIntyre said. “Dynamiq’s modern design, unique exteriors and stunning bespoke interiors are not the only impressive aspects of these Italian-built superyachts, as they are designed in the Netherlands with an ocean-going capability in mind. This means our owners in Asia will have the opportunity to enjoy long-range cruising in the region and beyond.”

Sergei Dobroserdov, Dynamiq’s founder and CEO, added: “We are so happy to find in Boats IQ the right partner to promote Dynamiq in Southeast Asia. We are confident that our shared values of efficiency, innovation and transparency will be welcomed in this part of the world. We would like to see this region become one of our key markets, as people here admire elegance and design, but are also attentive to technical details and pricing, and very rational in taking decisions. This is where Dynamiq stands out from the competition with our innovative yet value-for-money superyachts.”

The British builder is offering drop-down wings on its new Squadron 58, which is set to hit the water by late 2022.

The Squadron 58 will join the 50 and 68 in Fairline’s flybridge range

Fairline is developing a new Squadron 58 that offers the option of a beach club with hydraulic drop-down sides. Designed by the Fairline Yachts Design Studio in collaboration with Salt Design, the three-cabin model is scheduled to be in the water by late 2020 in time for a world premiere at Boot Dusseldorf in January 2023.

Last month, Fairline announced its new Phantom 65, which is set to debut at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival in September and will pioneer a new sportbridge range between the Targa cruisers and Squadron flybridge models. Meanwhile, the new Squadron 58 will fill the gap between the Squadron 50 and flagship 68, which has recently been upgraded, with a unit heading to Hong Kong through Simpson Marine, whose representation in Asia was recently expanded to include mainland China.

Paul Grys, CEO of Fairline, said: “Having recently announced the launch of the Phantom 65 alongside multiple new dealer appointments around the world, the Squadron 58 comes at an exciting time for Fairline, with it marking a major step in our new model development programme. We have designed this yacht to offer our customers the ultimate connection with the water utilising a range of new innovations and technologies unique to Fairline.”

The beach club has drop-down sides, an extendable platform and modular furniture

The Squadron 58’s optional fold-down bulwarks on both sides is a first for Fairline, while other new features include a high/low bathing platform that can carry a tender, extend in length and submerge into the water, allowing space for sun loungers. The beach club includes a glass transom, flexible and modular cockpit seating, moveable bar stools and an integrated sound system, while the triple-fin styling detail into the aft superstructure recalls past Squadrons.

The flybridge features a spacious sun pad aft, wet bar, plenty of seating, a hardtop with sunroof and wrap-around glazing, while the foredeck has a sofa, table and large sunpad. In another first for Fairline, the saloon is entered by an angled door, has an aft galley to port and a forward lounge with a C-shaped sofa and a table to port facing a double sofa to starboard.

The lower deck has a master cabin midships with a king-sized bed, bureau with stool and drawer storage to starboard, and a large sofa to port, while the starboard guest cabin shares the forward VIP cabin’s en-suite bathroom. At the stern, customers can add a twin crew cabin, which is accessed through a door in the transom, while engine options are twin Volvo D13-900 or D13-1000 shaft-drive engines. The Squadron 58 starts from £1.2 million (about US$1.63 million) excluding taxes.

CRN expects to launch the 52m, all-aluminium M/Y 142 at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona in spring, having started the year with the launch of the 62m Rio in January. Both yachts feature an exterior by Dutch studio Omega Architects, headed by Frank Laupman.

The full-custom, four-deck M/Y 142 has a volume of 499GT, a 9m beam and five cabins for 10 guests, with Italian studio Massari Design handling the yacht’s interiors and outdoor guest areas.

CRN says the yacht “reflects the character of a knowledgeable owner with a passion for the sea, who specifically wanted comfortable spaces in the open air, setting great store by the design of the social zones”.

The beach club by the water allows guests to dive right in or enjoy watersports with the wide selection of toys. The space integrates with an open-air living area featuring a relaxation zone with TV and bar looking on to a wellness area with hammam and shower zone.

The main deck features a large saloon and dining area, mirrored surfaces and floor-to-ceiling glazing for open ocean views. The owner’s suite with private study is in the bow and benefits from full-length windows, while the four guest cabins are on the lower deck.

A spectacular launch for the Ferretti Yachts 780 Club B

Ferretti Group has launched Club B, the 36th hull of the Ferretti Yachts 780 model and the first new build to be launched at the Cattolica shipyard since a yacht under construction caught fire on January 11. Club B features a Classic-themed interior by IdeaeItalia, using walnut, brushed oak and Carrara marble, while outdoor sofas are from Roda’s custom collection designed exclusively for Ferretti Yachts.

Alberto Galassi, CEO of Ferretti Group, said the shipyard would also be launching a new hull of its flagship Ferretti Yachts 1000, “making it clear that the Cattolica Shipyard is more active and stronger than ever, ready to mark 2022 with many more magnificent projects”.

With the production site back to full capacity, the launch of the Ferretti Yachts 780, for a Maltese owner, gave cause for celebration at the shipyard, which is on the north of Italy’s east coast, facing the Adriatic Sea.

The Cattolica shipyard is set to launch another Ferretti Yachts 1000

“The launch of this Ferretti Yachts 780 Club B marks the return to our extraordinary normality. At Cattolica, speed and quality go hand in hand. It is fantastic to see the shipyard get back to full operational capacity in such a short time,” Galassi said.

“I will never be able to adequately praise or thank all the people in the area and at Ferretti Yachts who have worked tirelessly to get us back to doing what we are famous for around the world: building and delivering dream yachts to our customers. Our thanks once again to the Municipal Administration and all the local authorities in this fantastic area.”

The newly updated Ferretti Yachts 780 features the option of Classic or Contemporary mood themes by IdeaeItalia, which designed the interiors for the Ferretti Yachts 500 launched in 2020 and the flagship 1000 released last year. Two units of the newly styled Ferretti Yachts 780 arrived in Singapore late last year through dealer Hong Seh Marine after being sold in the second quarter of 2020.
