A Sunreef 80 was the star attraction among almost 70 boats on display at the second Polboat Yachting Festival, which was held from July 15-18 at Marina Yacht Park in the north-coast city of Gdynia, billed as the ‘Sailing Capital of Poland’.
The 80ft sailing catamaran hosted the opening ceremony featuring Sebastian Nietupski (Polboat President), Mieczysław Struk (Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship), Wojciech Szczurek (President of Gdynia), Marek Łucyk (Vice President of Gdynia), Tomasz Chamera (President of the Polish Sailing Association) and Aleksandra Mietlicka (President of Dalmor SA).

Sunreef and Galeon are among leading Polish builders based in Gdansk, Poland’s leading port city, which is situated just 20km east of Gdynia. Galeon presented five motor yachts at this year’s Polboat Yachting Festival ranging from the new Galeon 325 GTO launched this year to the Galeon 510.
“The event was a huge success,” said Michael Bak, Secretary General of Polboat (The Polish Chamber of Marine Industry and Water Sports). “The weather was good, there was a rich programme of attractions, and exhibitors were satisfied with the attendance and the large number of meetings with clients. It was a great celebration of the Polish yachting industry.”

The exhibition also featured leading foreign brands, many of which build yachts in Poland. The Dobre Jachty company created an elegant stand representing several luxury brands including Jeanneau and Cranchi, while other brands represented included Saxdor, Hanse, Bavaria and Windy.
Smaller boats and water toys were also on display
There was also a display of the latest motorhomes and a special Mercedes-Benz zone prepared by BMG Goworowski.
On the first day, entertainment included a concert by folk-rock band Mitra, a culinary show, cocktail party and appearances by various sailing VIPs and celebrities. Weekend attractions included flyboard shows and free cruises on sailing boats and motor yachts, as well as the Become a Boater campaign.
The Gdynia Sailing Days regatta was held nearby at the same time as the Polboat Yachting Festival, with the organisers of both events planning to cooperate on future editions.
