The 56’ Rivale becomes the second model in Riva’s iconic Open range to include a hard top option, with the first unit already delivered to America.

Riva has released the 56’ Rivale Hard Top, which follows the hard top option offered on the 48ft Dolceriva, both models part of the Italian builder’s iconic Open range spanning the 27ft Iseo to the 88’ Florida. The hull colour of the 56’ Rivale Hard Top is Riva Shark Grey with bright black detailing and the first unit is already sailing in American waters.
The main new feature is the black hard top with carbon-fibre detailing, which covers the yacht’s centre section and features steel handrails on either side. The hard top options include built-in air-conditioning, while awnings can be added to cover the cockpit and forward lounge.
The hard top can be supplemented by awnings fore and aft
The 56’ Rivale Hard Top is a design collaboration between Officina Italiana Design co-founder Mauro Micheli and the Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee led by Piero Ferrari and Engineering Department. Teak is used for the outdoor decking, while the interiors feature polished mahogany, lacquered surfaces, mirror-finish stainless steel and fine leather.
Innovations include a swim platform that submerges while the steps on the port side and others set in the hull provide a stairway for guests to enter the water and return on board, without needing to use the steel ladder. A Williams TurboJet 325 tender can be stored in the garage, which has a carbon-fibre hatch.
The outdoor lounge enjoys an open sea view
A large sun pad aft is connected to forward-facing seating. To port is an L-shaped sofa and a teak table, while to starboard is a side cabinet with a refrigerator, ice maker, grill, wash basin, bar equipment and accessories.
Waste-separation bins and storage compartments extend up to the pilot chair and into its base, while a raised L-shaped sofa is to port of the helm station.

The foredeck has a sun pad with reclining headrest, while forward is an anti-slip, walk-on glass panel set in a stainless-steel frame. The sofas, the forward and aft sun pads, and the external pilot chair are all upholstered in ochre and white Morbern leather from the Prodigy line.
Central stairs lead down to a lounge-dinette where mirrored surfaces alternate with polished mahogany, dark lacquer finishes and dark-leather upholstery.

Aft is an independent day head, while the galley to port features mirrored walls, which also contain the TV screen. A glass skylight and the big windows in the hull flood the space with natural light.
The master cabin is midships and has a double bed to starboard facing the en-suite bathroom to port. The VIP cabin in the bow also has an en-suite cabin, while to port is a guest cabin with bunk beds and its own bathroom. On request, the third guest cabin can be replaced with a crew cabin.

The 56’ Rivale Hard Top is fitted with a pair of MAN engines rated 1,200mhp, which power the yacht to a top speed of 38 knots and a cruising speed of 32 knots. The standard option of 1,000mhp MAN engines produce a top speed of 34 knots and a cruising speed of 28 knots.
The engine room can be entered through two hatches on the deck, located in the centre of the cockpit and at the far end of the stern on the port side. On request, a Seakeeper stabiliser can be installed to reduce rolling at sea and at anchor.

Riva’s Open range will be further boosted by the 68’ Diable, which will have its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival and whose design includes a hard top.
The Ferretti Group brand has launched hull one of the upgraded version of the popular 76’ Perseo in its La Spezia shipyard in Italy.
