Two Amels Limited Editions launched on same day

History was made in the Netherlands as Damen Yachting launched two Amels superyachts in one day for the first time.
The eighth Amels 242 and fourth Amels 200
Damen Yachting launched the eighth Amels 242 (74m) and fourth Amels 200 (60m) on the same day at its shipyard in Vlissingen City in the Netherlands. The two new yachts are among over 50 Amels Limited Editions yachts at sea and will be used privately once delivered.
Both models feature exteriors by British designer Tim Heywood, while owners of both new models commissioned UK-based Winch Design for their interiors.
Amels 200
The fourth Amels 200 was the first out of her shed and features a Whisper Grey hull, a colour repeated in the exterior curves and arches, particularly around the superstructure.
Built for an owner and his family who intend to work remotely and spend extended periods exploring the Mediterranean, the yacht features notable customisations including an additional balcony on the main deck and exterior bars on every deck.
Amels 200
Tom Oomkens, Project Manager at Damen Yachting, said: “This yacht perfectly reflects the owner’s unique vision. There are many great details. For example, the windbreakers have been upgraded to feature a dark-grey tone to mimic the windows. The owner had many exciting design ideas and is experienced, which benefitted the project hugely.”
The eighth hull of the six-cabin Amels 242 has a Flag blue hull and an Oyster white superstructure, with the various vertical lines and stretches of windows standing out in a unique dark grey colour. Winch Design incorporated the blue exterior colourway into elements throughout the interior.
Amels 242
As guests enter through the main entrance, they’re met with a wall of semi-precious agate blue stones. There are various blue marbles onboard, as well as blue mosaics scattered through the wellness area. Other standout features include a large aft swimming pool and a dedicated owner’s deck with a Jacuzzi. The eighth Amels 242 is scheduled to be delivered on June 1, 2024.

This Amels Limited Editions superyacht is a great testament to the range and its flexibility – we can make anything work with this platform.”
Amels 242 and Amels 200
The Vlissingen yard is currently at full capacity and the new launches have made way for other new projects. The Amels 200 and 242 models have been succeeded by the Amels 60 and 80, both designed by Espen Øino.
