Fountaine Pajot Group and The Yacht Sales Co have announced a joint venture that will see the two leading companies expand their presence in the Asia-Pacific region. In late October 2024, the Fountaine Pajot Group finalised its acquisition of a majority stake in The Yacht Sales Co, with the development representing exciting prospects for the companies.

Based in France, the Fountaine Pajot Group includes Fountaine Pajot Sailing Catamarans, Fountaine Pajot Motor Yachts and Dufour Yachts, which it acquired in 2018. The Group recorded sales of €350 million for the 2023/24 financial year, representing a 26.9 per cent growth on the previous year.

Founded and headquartered in Australia, The Yacht Sales Co has 15 sales locations across 11 countries in Asia-Pacific. Formerly Multihull Solutions, The Yacht Sales Co represents the Fountaine Pajot Group brands along with Absolute, Maritimo, Tesoro, ILIAD Catamarans, Cora Catamarans, NEEL Trimarans and LEEN Trimarans. The company also operates a successful pre-owned brokerage division.

Mark Elkington shakes hands with Romain Motteau of Fountaine Pajot Group

Mark Elkington, CEO of The Yacht Sales Co, has worked closely with the Fountaine Pajot Group for over 25 years, a key driver of the new partnership.

“The Fountaine Pajot Group’s investment in our company is gratifying as it not only recognises the decades of successful collaboration but reflects their confidence in our vision to become the industry leader in sales and service excellence throughout Asia-Pacific,” Elkington said.

Romain Motteau, Managing Deputy CEO of the Fountaine Pajot Group, said the joint venture would further strengthen the Group’s presence throughout Asia-Pacific.

“We are delighted to partner with The Yacht Sales Co to support its continued growth and are looking forward to a commercial partnership that will help reinforce our regional presence while bringing us closer to our customers,” Motteau said.
