Highlighting this issue’s annual theme is our Top 100 Superyachts of Indo-Asia-Pacific 2025 special feature. Associate Editor Bruce Maxwell, as ever, sensitively trawls this vicinity to list and describe its finest resident superyachts and megayachts, some of which are available for charter.

On that charter note, in a feature, the same writer takes a look at one of the world’s most sought-after superyachts for hire: the palatial 122m Kismet, crafted by German shipyard Lürssen, a star at the recent Monaco Yacht Show.

Reviews begin with our cover yacht – also mentioned in a feature at the end of the Top 100 list. The Sanlorenzo 50Steel premiered at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024 and currently leads the way in blending the luxury experience aboard a superyacht with the mission to lower its carbon footprint in power generation.
Also debuting during the recent European show season, the Custom Line Navetta 38, a Ferretti Group brand, impresses as a displacement yacht with exceptional comfort, aesthetic finesse, and cutting-edge engineering.
The Swan Arrow, a premiere in Cannes in September, is the latest of the Finnish shipyard Nautor’s Swan’s refined motoryachts, and shares some of its highly regarded sailing-yacht siblings’ signature traits, including its plumb bow, high performance and immaculate finishing.
In Shipyard, we head to the expanding facility of Van der Valk in the Netherlands where, from humble small-boat production conceived by founder Wim van der Valk to this year’s management buyout when he retired, the shipyard is now known for its customised hulls.
Julien Solari of Camper & Nicholsons
This issue’s Leaders interviews have strong superyacht connections in their lines of work. Julien Solari, Chief Commercial Officer for Asia at Camper & Nicholsons talks through the international brokerage, charter and yacht services company’s regional and global market strategies, forecasts and performance at recent global yachting shows.
Ian Harris and Yousuf Al Hashimi of Phoenix Yacht Management
We also meet Ian Harris and Yousuf Al Hashimi, the management team at Dubai-based Phoenix Yacht Management, for reflections on the UAE yachting – and superyachting – lifestyle and services demand and potential there.
