Riva Lounge graces Art Central

SHARE

An elegant, cinematically-inspired Riva Lounge proved a popular addition to Art Central, which this year was held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Ferretti Group Asia Pacific introduced the Riva brand to a new audience through its Riva Lounge at Art Central, which is among Asia’s most prestigious art events and was held this year at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre in Wanchai.

Ferretti Group, which owns Riva and seven other yacht-building brands, created the Riva Lounge as a haven for yacht lovers and fans of cinema and iconic style. The Riva Lounge featured two seating areas, scale models of several of the brand’s most iconic yachts, samples of the brand’s diverse line of merchandise and an array of photographs celebrating the ‘Riva in the Movie’ theme.

Inspired by the many big-screen adventures featuring Riva’s iconic yachts, the four-minute Riva in the Movie short film starring Pierfrancesco Favino and an Aquariva premiered at the 77th Venice Film Festival last September (Click Here). A 300-page, coffee-table book (Click Here) of the same name was published late last year.

The partnership between Ferretti Group and Art Central linked the creativity and passion found in the world’s artistic masterpieces with those reflected in the stunning vessels designed by the legendary Italian yacht maker.

Fabiomassimo Discoli, Ferretti Group Asia Pacific’s Sales & Marketing Director, said: “Riva has a tradition, heritage and relationship with art, so we wanted to show this at an exclusive art exhibition like Art Central.

“Riva creates masterpieces, objects of desire and represent the ultimate in craftsmanship. The yachts have been immortalised in many films for decades and Riva in the Movie celebrates the brand as an icon of luxury and la dolce vita.

The Riva Lounge at Art Central was an interesting experiment and experience. We received great appreciation and feedback from the public and we’re confident this collaboration will have a future.”

Riva’s boats have captured the imagination of the cinematic industry for over 60 years, dating back to the 1950s when the world first discovered that the most beautiful boats were made in Italy, specifically in Sarnico.

Riva boats ranging from the iconic mahogany classics to their ultramodern cousins have appeared in at least 39 movies, from 1954’s Mambo starring Silvana Mangano to 2019’s Men in Black: International featuring Chris Hemsworth. The boats have also appeared in the likes of Nikita, James Bond films and multi-award-winning arthouse films like The Great Beauty.
