Italy’s Cantieri di Pisa and Pulina Exclusive Interiors studio teamed up at this year’s Dubai International Boat Show to present the interior design of the new Akhir 44, a 44m, 395GT superyacht featuring exterior styling by Antonio Luxardo, the shipyard’s Chief Designer.
Akhir is the shipyard’s most famous line of yachts and the first hull of the 44 will be built in carbon and glass composite, and reach a top speed of 35 knots with three 2,600hp MTU engines.

Marco Massabò, CEO of Cantieri di Pisa (click for interview with shipyard owner Enrico Gennasio), said: “The first model in the new series will combine the iconic lines of the original range with various characteristics designed to meet current market demand. We decided to commission these interiors featuring incredible liveability from Pulina, the high-end Italian design firm with a multi-disciplinary approach.
The saloon includes a signature staircase
“The yacht’s spaces offer maximum comfort, understated elegance and a unique on-board experience for cosmopolitan owners attracted by a brand that helped write the history of yachting and is still a force for innovation in the industry today, not least thanks to its collaboration with such illustrious partners.”
Pulina Exclusive Interiors, which has offices in Pisa and Shanghai, was founded by Alessandro Pulina. Staff include interior and product designers from various backgrounds, and the company focuses on interiors for yachts, private residences and hotels, with clients across Europe and Asia.

Pulina said: “The spaces on Akhir 44 are characterised by our carefully curated selection of materials and by innovative architectural solutions that balance energy in motion with a sense of spatial harmony. A deliberate contrast between warm materials like bleached oak and cold metal and steel finishes gives the settings a sporty, technological look.
“The fresh, neutral colour palette enhances the liveability of the interiors and creates sensations of lightness and openness. Every on-board space is designed to optimise the guest experience by balancing comfort and adventure. Every element is designed to express responsible luxury based on both aesthetics and wellbeing, with the aim of offering an exclusive yachting experience.”
The flexible dining area links to the open galley
Featuring a special metal-effect lacquer ceiling and Cadorin wood flooring, the main deck is fully focused on guests, with a spacious saloon that culminates in a ‘floating’ metal-and-glass staircase.
The main deck includes a versatile dining area, where sliding panels allow the formal dining space to be turned into a generous lounge, while a large window opens onto a sculptural galley that can host show cooking experiences.
The owner’s suite is among five lower-deck guest cabins
The lower deck includes the owner’s suite and four guest cabins, which all benefit from extensive glazing. The full-beam owner’s suite includes a vanity area, work desk, small lounge sofa and a symmetrical bathroom with his and her spaces either side of a central, shared shower. The crew quarters are forward, split between lower and main decks.
