The Beneteau, Lagoon and Excess brands will have a strong presence at this year’s Japan International Boat Show, following events in Korea and New Zealand.
Beneteau Antares 9
Beneteau will exhibit six models at this year’s Japan International Boat Show, which will be held in Yokohama from March 20-23. Beneteau and local dealer First Marine will show the Oceanis 51.1, First 44 and First 36 sailboats, as well as the Flyer 8, Antares 9 and Antares 7 outboard powerboats, with the latter two being showcased indoors.
Lagoon, the world leader in cruising sailing catamarans, will also have a presence at the Japan show through First Marine, which will exhibit the iconic Lagoon 42 sailing catamaran. The French shipyard has built more than 7,000 cruising catamarans since 1984, including over 1,000 units of the Lagoon 42.
Excess 14
An Excess 14 sailing catamaran, the largest model in the Beneteau Group brand’s growing fleet, will also be on display in Yokohama, through Odyssey Marine, the brand’s dealer in Japan.
Before the Japan show, the three sister brands will also participate in the Korea International Boat Show (February 28-March 2) and Auckland Boat Show (March 6-9) in New Zealand.
The Korea show will be held in the KINTEX exhibition centre, outside Seoul, where local dealer Yacht Master will exhibit the Beneteau Antares 8 and 7 dayboats, and host the Lagoon booth, while Hyundai Yachts will represent Excess at the brand’s booth.
Beneteau Swift Trawler 41
In New Zealand the following week, the Auckland Boat Show will be held in the Viaduct Events Centre and Jellicoe Harbour. Local dealer 36 Degrees Brokers will show Beneteau’s First 44 racer-cruiser and Swift Trawler 41 inboard passage maker, while Family Boats will exhibit the French brand’s Gran Turismo 36 sports cruiser and Antares 11 outboard models.
The 36 Degrees Brokers dealership also represent Lagoon and Excess in New Zealand and will host booths for both catamaran brands during the four-day show, while also planning to exhibit a Lagoon 55 sailing catamaran.
“March promises to be exciting with several important regional boat shows,” stated Beneteau Group Asia-Pacific. “Our team in Asia Pacific can’t wait to see guests at our booths and embark on new adventures at sea.”

In related news, on Tuesday, Excess Catamarans announced the appointment of 38 South Yacht Sales as the brand’s second official dealer in Australia. This expansion of its international dealer network follows recent partnerships with NextWave Yachting in Hong Kong and Primus Marine in Thailand.
38 South Yacht Sales will represent the full range of Excess catamaran models and will be exclusively responsible for the states of Queensland and Victoria in Australia. Meanwhile, Flagstaff Marine, the brand’s long-standing partner, will continue to serve as the exclusive representative of Excess Catamarans in New South Wales.
This strategic move aims to strengthen the brand’s presence in one of the most mature markets in the Asia-Pacific region, while also addressing the growing demand for innovative and segmented catamarans. Excess is now providing Australian customers with a more personalised and detail-oriented ownership process, from the moment they step into a dealership through to after-sales support.
“I am delighted to welcome 38 South Yacht Sales on board to represent Excess Catamarans in Queensland and Victoria,” said Cosmas Grelon, Excess & Lagoon Catamarans Asia-Pacific Sales Manager. “It will be a great addition to our network in Australia.
“With the brand-new Excess 13 on order with 38 South Yacht Sales, and the Excess 14 recently touching down in Sydney with Flagstaff, all the pieces are coming together to see Excess Catamarans reach new heights down under.”
“We have been enthusiastic about becoming an Excess dealer since the brand was first launched, so I am delighted to receive the opportunity to work with Flagstaff Marine to represent Excess Catamarans here in Australia,” said Rohan Veal, Managing Director, 38 South Yacht Sales.
