Damen Yachting shares the ‘grand reveal’ of the seventh Amels 60 and announces plans for a spectacular ceremony later this year.
The seventh Amels 60 exits its production hall in Vlissingen
The seventh Amels 60 has been shown exiting its production hall at Damen Yachting’s principal shipyard in Vlissingen on the southwest coast of the Netherlands. Billed as the yacht’s ‘grand reveal’, the images capture a significant milestone in the build of Amels 6007, the seventh yacht from the 197ft Amels Limited Editions design.
The 853GT yacht, which has a 3,605sqft interior, is heading into her final build stage and outfitting before delivery in early summer 2025, with plans set for a spectacular ceremony.
The Amels 60 exterior is by Espen Øino International
Joppe Osté, Damen Yachting Project Manager of the Amels 60, said: “One year ago, this Amels 60 arrived at our shipyard here in the Netherlands for outfitting. All the work over the last 12 months has been building up to this very moment and we are incredibly proud to see and be part of this yacht’s launch.
“It’s an important moment for all the Damen Yachting team but also our co-makers and the owner. We are now fully focused on the final build phase so we can ensure this yacht is ready for the lifetime at sea that she was built to enjoy.”
The Amels 60’s design has evolved since the first hull
Damen Yachting and Espen Øino International are responsible for the Amels 60’s naval architecture and exterior design respectively. Harrison Eidsgaard has designed the custom interiors of hull seven, which represents the London-based studio’s first design collaboration with Amels and includes accommodation for 12 guests and 13 crew.
“The result is a contemporary and welcoming style that provides a refined take on beach house luxury, where natural materials and a clever use of detailing ensure a warm and tactile finish,” Damen Yachting stated. “The evolved interior design delivers a warm environment with varied textures and colourways.”
Amels 6007 is due for delivery in the early summer
Chris Callahan, spokesperson for Moran Yacht & Ship, which represents the yacht’s owner, said: “We are thrilled to reach this significant milestone as the project accelerates towards its summer delivery. Despite our involvement beginning relatively recently, we are delighted that the owner was able to infuse many personal elements into the yacht, transforming it into a true home.
“It’s also fantastic to see that many of the customisations and platform improvements our team implemented into Entourage (Amels 6002) have been carried through to subsequent builds, including Amels 6007. On behalf of our entire organisation, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the talented craftsmen and the owner’s team on this remarkable achievement.”
