Sunseeker launching Superhawk 55 in 2022
The British builder is expanding its Performance range with the sleek Superhawk 55, which is scheduled to show at the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival.
Sunseeker International has announced details of its new Superhawk 55, which is scheduled to premiere at the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival from September 6-11. Joining the 62-knot Hawk 38 in the British builder’s Performance range, the Superhawk 55 is powered by twin 725hp Volvo Penta D11-IPS 950 engines and is expected to have a top speed of 38 knots.
Andrea Frabetti, CEO of Sunseeker, said: “We are delighted to unveil yet another brand-new model, the incredible Superhawk 55. It is the start of an exciting new series of 55ft models, and we think our customers are going to be excited to see this new model on the water. With exceptional design innovation and agility, the Superhawk 55 promises to be a thrilling addition to the Sunseeker range.”
Designed to cater to the growing open-top day boat market, the Superhawk 55 revives a Sunseeker range last seen a decade ago and has been designed as ‘a party boat built for entertaining’.
The yacht has an overall length of 55ft 3in (16.84m) and a beam of 16ft 3in (4.95m), while design details include ‘Union Jack’ track lighting above the helm which continues aft, flush to the synthetic decking. The foredeck features a triple sun pad that slides forward to reveal a rise-and-fall pneumatic table and dedicated seating area complete with wireless chargers and storage lockers.
The aft cockpit has a large wet bar featuring concealed appliances and a waterproof TV, while owners can select from many furniture configuration options. There are two L-shaped sofas and an aft sunbed with a pull-out drawer, suitable for storing water-skiing equipment and other water toys. The large garage can hold a Williams Turbojet 325 tender and Seabobs, while six lockers provide more storage.
The centre-line triple helm is a first for Sunseeker and delivers an open-plan arrangement with access from port and starboard, as well as internal access below deck via a companionway hatch on the starboard side.
Steps lead down to an open-plan saloon and galley area beneath LED lighting. Natural light enters from the expansive screen above and the hull windows, while electrically operated blinds provide privacy. Another rise-and-fall TV above the galley converts the saloon into a more relaxed lounge, with comfortable seats and a dedicated drinks cabinet behind.
The interior comes with different styling palettes throughout to offer a personal feel for each owner. Aft is the master suite, which has a large TV and a generous en-suite bathroom, while black lacquer panels frame the cabin, creating a cool ambience.
Sunseeker has announced that a brand-new model is among its line-up of superyachts for the Monaco Yacht Show from September 22-25.
