Sunreef Yachts will soon begin construction on its first overseas production facility in Ras Al Khaimah, a northerly emirate in the United Arab Emirates, “in response to a rising demand from the Middle East, Asia and Australia”.

Sunreef currently operates two sites in Gdansk on Poland’s north coast, comprising an expanding new facility and its original operation in the history Gdansk Shipyard.

For the “new, state-of-the art facility” in the UAE, Sunreef has invested almost €30 million (about US$30 million) and acquired a 65,000sqm land reserve. It plans to begin construction on an initial 13,000sqm plot in the coming weeks.

Dedicated to the construction of luxury, custom-made catamarans, the Ras Al Khaimah site is scheduled to begin production in September and initially employ about 50 people. Sunreef expects the site to employ up to 800 people within three years.
