After appearing at Cannes Yachting Festival B-Craft Akoya, the brainchild of Belgian father and son Roeland and Joris Van Aelst, is at the Monaco Yacht Show this week.
B-Craft Akoya is a passion project built to meet the needs of watersport enthusiasts
Born from their family summers filled with waterskiing and wakeboarding, B-Craft launched the Akoya as a response to the limitations they discovered owning conventional family boats. Joris, armed with degrees in naval architecture and transportation design, spent six years perfecting the versatile vessel. The result? A boat that blends elegant design with super-sporty capabilities in a craft that has exceeded even their expectations.
Six years of intense research, design, modifications and construction went into the craft’s creation
The Akoya’s innovative patented electronically retractable rigging is coupled with an additional forward-facing propeller that caters to water-sport enthusiasts by creating more wake. Post-action, the pole neatly retracts, transforming the vessel into a sleek day cruiser.
At 8.6m long and 2.55m wide, the Akoya boasts a powerful 430hp Volvo Penta Ocean X engine and has become Europe’s first boat with a forward-facing propeller. The swim platform offers ample wet gear storage and shower.
The craft is packed with automated features
This nautical relative newbie, launched in 2023, boasts automated features that can be controlled simply by pressing a button, even from your mobile. A retractable anchor, rising table, elevating bimini, and swim platform enhance its allure. Electronic adjustments extend to sunbeds and engine cover.
Alongside the retractable rig, the boat features a custom-designed retractable anchor system
Guests can also enjoy a premium sound system, ample cooling, charging points, LED lighting, and a cocktail bar. Magnetically secured crockery and a built-in game board add practicality.
B-Craft Akoya combines onboard luxury and a unique sporty concept
This Belgian boat innovation reinvents the idea of traditional luxury, bringing sporty, elegant design. With the Akoya, Roeland and Joris’ B-Craft hasn’t just rocked the boat, they’ve redefined it.
