The Absolute Navetta 53 had liveability as part of its design brief, along with stylish, distinctive open gunwales
Yacht Style issue 81 is kicking off the year with the 2025 list of Asia’s Yachting Leaders, and is graced with the cover image of the Absolute Navetta 53, which premiered at Cannes Yachting Festival 2024 and is set to be on show at April’s Singapore Yachting Festival.
Stretching eastward from the Gulf as far as Northeast Asia, the 2025 edition of Asia’s Yachting Leaders showcases yacht owners and shipyard owners, dealers and brokers, marina managers, sailors, show organisers and other key people within the region’s luxury boating industry.
Absolute Navetta 53
Yacht Style issue 81’s Reviews section includes models that are mostly arriving in the coming months or recently arrived in Asia – with the exception of one in-build preview. Our cover star, the Absolute Navetta 53, is an evolution of the successful Absolute Navetta 52, with a focus on elegant design, true liveability and solid performance.
Van der Valk’s Project Samba
Project Samba will be launched and delivered to its owner in 2025 – our in-build preview takes a look at the 35m tri-deck commission with interiors that appear like an easy-on-the-eye penthouse triplex, and performance that allows its 295 gross tonnes to cruise at 17 knots.
Pershing GTX80
The spacious Pershing GTX80 is a super-fast luxury motoryacht that is partially about thrilling performance, and its striking aerodynamic lines are paired with seamless indoor-outdoor living, thanks to drop-down aft side decks that offer a large expanse close to the water.
Beneteau Swift Trawler 54
Outdoor areas are also very prominent in the well-styled Beneteau Swift Trawler 54, conceived as the ultimate family cruiser by the shipyard. Built with onboard comfort and practicality in mind, this new model offers long-range cruising capability for the adventurous.
Read first thoughts on hull number one of the just-launched Aquila 50 Yacht power catamaran during a sea trial in Fort Lauderdale, just after it made its global premiere there in November.
Prestige F4.9
The France-built Prestige F4.9 began arriving across Asia from December 2024, and the first model of the new F- line enhances the flybridge yacht tradition that has been this brand’s signature for more than 30 years.
Enrico Gennasio and Marco Massabò of Cantieri di Pisa
In this issue’s Leaders and Profiles article, enjoy two forthright accounts of the new era of historied Italian builder Cantieri di Pisa in a Leaders double-interview. Enrico Gennasio and Marco Massabò, respectively the owner and CEO, discuss the ambitious course the yard now follows.
Thomas Woo
Back in our waters, learn how one of Italian builder Absolute Yachts’ star dealers, Hong Kong-based Thomas Woo of Absolute Marine has seen sales progress in the motoryacht builder’s Flybridge and Navetta lines in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, since he started representing the brand with a single hull in 2014.
We also hear the archetypal passion-project tale from Yann Martinie de Maisonneuve, the French marine carpenter, who was so smitten by the traditional double-masted phinisi sailing yachts of Indonesia after designing his first wooden hull, that he went on to co-found Pacific High – a yacht builder and charter company with broadening aspirations.
Fountaine Pajot’s power catamarans have a premier place in the Asia-Pacific market
In our News section, we bring a deeper report on December’s decision by French builders Fountaine Pajot and Dufour to share a majority stake in APAC dealer The Yacht Sales Co, which develops fast in Southeast Asia.
In another Feature, we take a look at the innovative new Azimut Fly 62, which Enrico Chiaussa, Azimut’s CCO for Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Africa says is extremely well suited to APAC.
The Hong Kong International Boat Show
In Shows, we review those held recently in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Sanya, and look at the current Boot Dusseldorf, and forthcoming Dubai and Singapore events.
