Sylvie Ernoult, Cannes Yachting Festival
Our SHOWS pages include an interview with the Festival Director for 10-plus years, Sylvie Ernoult. From new marinas and meeting spaces to an Innovation zone, she explains the changes she is steering for this year’s show in Cannes – taking place next week, from September 10-15.
Also in SHOWS pages, the Monaco Yacht Show 2024, taking place September 25-28, hosts exhibitions and discussions on sustainability, design, and innovation. It also celebrates efforts of three industry leaders in these areas who will be recognised at The Honours 2024 awards. We take a look at the details. And with dates recently announced, we preview the first Taiwan International Boat Show (TIBS) to be held for six years (November 28-December 1), and the 2025 Singapore Yachting Festival (April 10-13).

REVIEWS begin with the upscale Italian shipyard’s environmentally-conscious values, expressed by this 60-footer – the first in a new series that is to include 70ft and 90ft models – and appearing at Cannes Yachting Festival next week, along with the Seadeck 7.
We then review Finnish builder Nautor Swan’s latest Maxi model to hit the water – the Swan 108 – which merges comfortable family cruising, excellent bluewater seakeeping and racing prowess.
Nomad 101 by Gulf Craft
A look on board the first hull of this impressive expedition-style yacht model shows the Nomad 101 as a very worthy flagship, that offers a comfortable, multi-tiered flowing layout and transatlantic range.
Pearl 82
UK-based Pearl Yachts rewrites the design rules and continues to push boundaries with a winning combination of space, style, and performance in the Pearl 82.
This forthcoming superyacht sailing catamaran reflects the growing interest in eco-responsible yachts worldwide, with Sunreef Yachts bringing emissions-free cruising and composite integrated solar panels.
RACING reports include a round-up of the recent racing (up until the end of the first weekend in September 2024) in the America’s Cup, the world’s oldest sailing competition – now far removed from the experience of most traditional sailors.

In CHARTER, we suggest two escapes into Hong Kong waters. Asiamarine’s fleet of Lagoon sailing and power catamarans provide spacious and comfortable perspectives, from which to visit beautiful beaches and remote islands. Simpson Yacht Charter, welcomes its latest superyacht charter to its fleet – a Sanlorenzo SL86, with half-day, full-day, or overnight packages offered.
