YACHT STYLE Issue 70 Out Now
The second issue of 2023 includes a cover story on luxury day boats, reviews of models from Sanlorenzo, Absolute, Fairline, CL Yachts, Wally, Jeanneau and Aquila, interviews with Erwin Bamps of Prestige and Iain Smallridge of Pearl, and a profile of Asiamarine.
YACHT STYLE Issue 70
YACHT STYLE’s second issue of 2023 features Jeanneau’s DB/43 as its cover star, with the model representing the start of the French builder’s new DB Yachts series and its entry into luxury day boats. Our cover story tackles the increasing number of mainstream yacht builders moving into this sector and whether its popularity can be significantly replicated in Asia.
The DB/43 is also among seven Reviews in this issue. As the brand’s new flagship motorboat, the muscular Garroni design kicks off the DB Yachts series from the French builder, which aims to deliver ‘more than you expect’ in a day boat sector best known for partying.
Reviews kick off with the Sanlorenzo SD90, a model recently sold to Asia by Simpson Marine. The SD90 is the new entry model for the Italian builder’s semi-displacement series and third with a Zuccon exterior and Patricia Urquiola interior.
Fairline Phantom 65
Also headed for Asia through Simpson Marine, Fairline’s Phantom 65 is the stunning first model in the British builder’s new sportsbridge series, adding a surprisingly large flybridge to a winning layout.
Absolute Navetta 75
Absolute’s new Navetta 75 is also reviewed. The Italian builder’s flagship has many remarkable features including an enormous flybridge, multi-functional cockpit, and four guest cabins including two full-beam staterooms.
CL Yachts CLB65
CL Yachts debuted its CLB65 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show last October and the model proves itself among the most practical for a couple that wants to cruise.
Next up is the wallypower58, which revives the iconic range in Wally’s new era within Ferretti Group, offering ultra-clean hull lines, an enormous beach club, covered dining and ‘magic portholes’.
Aquila 42 Yacht
Aquila, arguably the world leader in power catamarans, has widened its flybridge portfolio with the 42 Yacht, which debuted at the Miami International Boat Show in February and is the last of the seven Reviews.
Erwin Bamps, Prestige
Prestige has moved into the market with the M48, the first in its M-Line of multihull motor yachts, to be followed by the M8 (65ft) scheduled to debut at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival. In Leader, Brand Director Erwin Bamps talks about Prestige’s commitment to the sector, another significant shift for a builder who already shook things up in recent years with its X-Line of flybridge yachts.
Iain Smallridge, Pearl
Also in Leader, Iain Smallridge of Pearl Yachts talks about the British brand’s remarkable efforts with their feature-packed flybridge models to try to lure clients away from some of the biggest shipyards in the business. Having established the boutique British builder in Europe and the US, Smallridge is now setting his sights on the Middle East and Far East.
Asiamarine in Hong Kong
Profile focuses on Asiamarine, which followed its appointment to manage the Galeon Asia network of dealers by securing representation of both Nautor Swan and Silent-Yachts in key territories, with the dealer now a fully-fledged regional operation with strong offices and Fraser Sales Brokers in Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.
As usual, there’s lots of yachting news, Lifestyle spreads and Events from across the region including Hong Kong, Singapore, Hainan, Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City. Enjoy the issue and feel free to browse YACHT STYLE’s various platforms, as listed below:
