World Boating Day supported by key organisations

ICOMIA and APSA are among the first yachting organisations to confirm support for the World Boating Day weekend in May.
ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations) is among nine industry bodies that have signed up to support the first edition of World Boating Day, which is coordinated by The Superyacht Life Foundation and will be held from May 25-26. Local, regional and national industry bodies are all invited to amplify the movement.
Joe Lynch, ICOMIAās CEO, said: āTaking part in World Boating Day is an exceptional way to elevate the worldwide appreciation of diverse leisure boating sectors, and ultimately to celebrate moments on the water on an international scale. Weāre excited to join such an important initiative for our industry, as it truly brings a sense of unity among our members.ā
ICOMIA is also organising the upcoming Boating Industry Conference in Singapore on April 23-24, which will be held at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove ahead of the Yacht Style Awards on April 24 and the second Singapore Yachting Festival from April 25-28.

APSA (Asia-Pacific Superyacht Association) has also signed up to support World Boating Day along with four Australia-based organisations and companies: AIMEX (Australian International Marine Export Group), BIA (Boating Industry Association), Superyacht Australia and Zeal Marinas.
David Good, CEO of AIMEX, Superyacht Australia as well as Australian Commercial Marine Group (ACMG), said: āWorld Boating Day presents an excellent opportunity for those of us involved in this enjoyable industry to inspire greater participation and enjoyment. After all, thatās what this industry is all about.ā
Other bodies supporting World Boating Day include EBI (European Boating Industry), US Superyacht Association and ISS (International Superyacht Society), based in the US.

World Boating Day is a non-profit campaign featuring local open days across the globe, aiming to foster a greater understanding of the leisure boating industry. It represents an opportunity for participating companies to showcase the breadth of career paths and talent within the industry, so helping to attract tomorrowās talent.

Local, national and international industry organisations can join the campaign by simply sharing the World Boating Day message with their audiences and utilising the resources developed by the Foundation, from newsletter templates and digital campaigns to event inspiration sheets.
For participating companies, thereās no limit or criteria to fulfil, and no deadline to register. Shipyards, design studios, sailing schools, marinas, retail businesses and offices are openly invited to join, creating a specific event or registering an existing one from their calendar under the World Boating Day banner.
The events are freely tailored by each participant to their target audiences, from public openings or collaboration with universities, to more private and exclusive events. The Superyacht Life Foundation actively manages all PR movements from the campaign.
