The marine e-mobility pioneer has started its first course at the Torqeedo Academy, which will also roll out informative and educational material online.
Torqeedo recently launched the Torqeedo Academy as the electric motor manufacturer hosted the first in-person training for international sales and service partners in the company’s headquarters in Wessling, Germany. The curriculum includes design, installation, commissioning and service for both private use and commercial applications.
Stefan Hirzinger has been appointed to lead the Academy and brings three decades of expertise in technical training development in the solar and electric-vehicle industries. ‘Training Future Experts’ is the Academy’s slogan and the inaugural course for employees around the world has enjoyed strong participation.
“The first training for service partners is already more than full. In fact, we’ve almost doubled our expected registrations,” Hirzinger said. “It’s gratifying to see the excitement and energy of our service partners about the opportunity to train at the Torqeedo Academy. They are our front lines, so their education and support are key to ensuring a top-notch user experience.”
Fabian Bez, Torqeedo’s CEO (click for interview), added: “The goal of our new Torqeedo Academy is to train all our partners worldwide, so we make sure our best-in-class standard is met within the market.
“Improvements in supporting our partner network are key to a completely new customer experience. Our goal is not only to satisfy but to delight Torqeedo owners from the moment they decide to electrify their boat through the entire ownership experience.”
As well as technical training in person for the company’s service network, the Academy will later offer access to online content hosted on the Torqeedo website for product owners, industry partners and the public. As well as an overview of Torqeedo products, the content will address a wide range of sustainable boating topics and practices.
Bez said: “The Torqeedo Academy aims to educate, empower and inspire the electric boating community. As the industry leader, with more than 18 years of marine e-mobility experience, we’re uniquely qualified to share compelling, useful electrification content.
“Electromobility is a very dynamic market where it’s important to constantly develop knowledge and skills in all areas, so we want to address general topics in e-mobility on the water and make information more accessible to the public. We aim to create a knowledge hub and community of people leading the way towards a more sustainable boating industry.”
