In build in Sulawesi, Sanya is scheduled to start chartering in August

Sanya’s construction at the Pacific High shipyard in Sulawesi remains on schedule for completion in July and for the 36m phinisi to begin chartering in August. A larger ‘sistership’ to the 31m Senja, Sanya is being built for Alur Biru Maritim and builds upon the success of her predecessor with increased length, enhanced guest accommodation and a striking navy-blue hull.

Matthieu Lavoine, CEO of Alur Biru Maritim, said: “We chose Pacific High because of their proven expertise in yacht construction, bespoke yacht design and charter management. After experiencing Senja privately, we knew Pacific High was the ideal partner to realise our vision.

“This marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between PT Alur Biru Maritim and Pacific High, with additional yacht projects and collaborative developments already planned for the future.”

Purpose-built for honeymooners and small families, Sanya can comfortably accommodate up to five guests.

The master suite, a highlight of Sanya’s design, offers a 270-degree ocean view, king-sized bed and a convertible sofa ideal for a child, as well as a private terrace with lounge seating, dining area, large daybed and direct sea access. A lower-deck double cabin provides additional guest accommodation in a well-appointed private setting.

Common areas include an expansive foredeck featuring alfresco dining for five and multiple lounge areas, while the top-deck cocoon sunbed – among Senja’s most popular features – provides a secluded retreat.

While Sanya retains Senja’s overall aesthetic and layout, the increased length allows for a larger engine room, expanded storage capacity and improved crew quarters, which can accommodate 11 staff including a dedicated cruise director and dive master.

With a focus on tailor-made adventures and personalised service, Sanya will offer comprehensive diving experiences with Nitrox capabilities, allowing guests to earn PADI certification during charters.

Yann Martinie de Maisonneuve, Pacific High’s co-founder and Executive Chairman, said: “Sanya is shaping up to be an exceptional evolution of Senja. While the physical layout remains familiar, the real transformation happens behind the scenes, with enhanced space, efficiency and crew accommodation.

“We’re committed to ensuring Sanya not only meets but surpasses the expectations of our charter guests, offering the perfect balance between exclusivity, privacy and adventure.”
