Galeon to stage world premiere at Polboat show
The brand-new Galeon model will be among highlights of the Polboat Yachting Festival in July, which features motor and sailing yachts from Polish and international builders.
Galeon, celebrating its 40th anniversary, will debut its 375 GTO among its large display at the third edition of the Polboat Yachting Festival, which will be held at Marina Yacht Park in Gdynia from July 21-24. As well as the new addition to the GTO series, the builder’s other models at Poland’s biggest boat show will include the 325 GTO, 400 Fly, 425 HTS, 500 Fly, 510 Sky and 680 Fly.
Sunreef, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, will exhibit a 60 Sunreef Power, which will also host the opening ceremony a year after a Sunreef 80 sailing catamaran performed the same role. The opening ceremony at Marina Yacht Park, owned by the PHN Group, usually features leading figures from the Polish yachting industry along with state and local government officials.
Among Polish brands, Cobrey will display three vessels including its flagship 50, Vulcan Yachts will debut the JP 47, Balt Yachts will show its SunCamper 35 and Northman will exhibit its 1200. International brands exhibiting include Bavaria (Germany) and Rio (Italy).
As a country, Poland is a world leader in the production of small motorboats and is home to many shipyards that build for international companies, so sub-10m boats will be the dominant sector at the show.
Parker Poland will show four models, while foreign brands on display include US brands Bayliner and Malibu, Swedish builders Nimbus and Windy, Finnish brands Saxdor and Flipper, and Slovenia’s Alfastreet, most of which produce in Poland.
Emerging Polish brands showing at Polboat include Canna Boats, Mongird Yachts, Futuro Boats, D-Boat, Nautic Yachts and VTS. Sportis, the country’s largest builder of RIB boats, will also participate
Sailing yachts include a Hanse 458, Dehler 420 and a Jacht 2020 by local shipyard Pro-Air, while the Legia yacht formerly owned by Colonel Ryszard Kukliński and the royal yacht Norn VI will be among unique sailing vessels on display.
Houseboats will again be on show and exhibitors will include La Mare from Bydgoszcz and Nomadream, which will float the 1200 Double Decker unit. Tents on the waterfront area will feature exhibitors offering sailing and motorboat accessories, navigation equipment and clothing, plus financing and insurance for boats.
Other luxury industries will be represented by Mercedes-Benz cars from BMG Goworowski, motorhomes and exclusive clothes from Tailors Club, while Pomeranian Voivodeship will host a special relaxation zone.
Activities include the Gdynia Polboat Awards Gala at the Courtyard by Marriott Gdynia Waterfront hotel on the evening of July 21, the show’s first day. The jury comprising designer Jacek Centkowski and Yachtsmen.eu editor Stanisław Iwiński will adjudge boats on display at the show, while singer Olga Barej will perform before the event is followed by the Inter Cars – Exide Cocktail Party.
A Yacht & Jazz Festival at the Super Yachts Club within Marina Yacht Park is planned for the second day, while Galeon will celebrate its 40th anniversary on day three.
The four-day event will also include displays of flyboards, water scooters, Hobie kayaks, Awake electric surfboards and water-rescue performances, while there will be opportunities to meet yachting figures including the sailor Jurand Goszczyński and Captain Roman Paszke.
The #Become_a_Boater campaign, organised with the Aktywnie i Zdrowo Foundation and Pro-Air, will be held on the Saturday and Sunday, and offers guests a free cruise on a sailing or motor boat and an introduction to life on the water.
Industry discussion topics will include the development of education for the yachting industry, yacht investments, communication systems or the problem of ocean pollution.
