Southeast Asia’s biggest marina has been accredited as a Platinum 5 Gold Anchor Marina, Superyacht Ready Marina and International Clean Marina.
Ocean Marina Jomtien is now a Platinum 5 Gold Anchor and Clean Marina accredited marina
Ocean Marina Jomtien has become Thailand’s first Platinum 5 Gold Anchor Marina, the Marina Industries Association (MIA) announced. The accreditation will be formally presented to representatives of Southeast Asia’s largest marina at the Nautilus Marine Insurance Marina of the Year Awards in Sydney on May 6.
The global accreditation is the highest accolade awarded in the industry and is reserved for marinas “that offer their customers a comprehensive and unique marina experience by providing unparalleled boating facilities, tailored and personalised service, and an outstanding array of high-quality amenities”, the MIA stated.
Scott Finsten, Marina Manager at Ocean Marina Jomtien, said: “We have worked very hard for this, and I am so proud. This is a tremendous achievement for our team. We examined every one of the 86 criteria assessed and set about determining what we needed to do to meet the Platinum 5 Gold Anchor standard for each one.

“It was a great way to analyse our operations, but importantly, it was a wonderful bonding experience for the team to work together to pursue this goal. It is wonderful for them all to share in this great achievement.”
Situated in Jomtien, south of Pattaya, Ocean Marina Jomtien has over 450 modern berths providing safe anchorage for yachts up to 75m. The Gold Anchor assessment includes an independent survey of berth holders, and the marina scored an impressive 97 per cent in this category.
Napong Paripontpochanapisuti, Managing Director of marina owner Ocean Property, said: “While we are very proud to be recognised for our facilities, we appreciate that it is our team who deliver what is most important, and that is a very high level of personalised service. We are very proud and grateful to them.”

As a favoured superyacht berthing destination, Ocean Marina Jomtien has also been accredited as a Superyacht Ready Marina – one of only four accredited in Asia. It was also recognised for its environmental commitment with an International Clean Marina accreditation, and has taken the Marine Sustainability Pledge.
As well as being a gateway to yachting in the Gulf of Thailand, Ocean Marina Jomtien offers a full range of maintenance facilities supported by onsite marine trades and service providers, as well as premium leisure facilities.
Andrew Chapman, MIA’s President, said: “In addition to its berthing and maintenance services, this impressive marina complex incorporates a full-service resort including a 76-room hotel, an array of food-and-beverage options, and high-quality leisure facilities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a gymnasium, steam rooms and saunas.
“Business needs can even be taken care of on the go, with access to a full range of business services including meeting spaces.”
