Highfield RIB speedboats secures contract with OC Sport Pen Duick

Leading aluminium hulled rigid hull inflatable boats (RIB) manufacturers, Highfield Boats, are celebrating a continued partnership with offshore race organisers OC Sport Pen Duick.

In a new deal, Highfield Boats, represented in Asia by Simpson Marine, has renewed its partnership with the French company, a subsidiary of the Télégramme Group, to ensure safety on the water for several prestigious offshore racing events.
It began supporting teams racing in OC Sport Pen Duick’s Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe in 2018, an agreement that continued for the 2022 event.

It will now support the La Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe until 2026, bringing a fleet of 64 semi-rigid units to help racing teams enjoy a safe and smooth kick-off of the single-handed race across the Atlantic.
Highfield begins its support of skippers and event organisers up to two weeks ahead of the gruelling race, which begins in St Malo, France.

Its RIB fleets are used for crowd control, as escorts to competing yachts, to sponsor hospitality and for water management.
The new contract also ensures Highfield’s support for two new future events – the 2025 La Transat Paprec, the legendary transatlantic race between Concarneau and Saint-Barthelemy, and Tour de Belle-Île, a 41-nautical mile race that takes place in Brittany, France.
This new commitment is well-aligned with the brand’s values, says Julien Carussi, who is co-founder, co-owner and CEO of Highfield Boats. “We share with the sailors participating in these prestigious races the same passion for adventure, and the same taste for surpassing oneself.”

Since forming 12 years ago, Highfield has become a reputable source of supply of RIBs which are renowned for their durability and performance and manufactured at its state-of-the-art production facility in Weihai, China.
The company has also become a go-to supplier for some of the world’s biggest sailing events, including Extreme Sailing Series and the Vendée Globe, and will this year supply 91 semi-rigid boats for the support of the opening ceremony and sailing events at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
