The April 15-18 on-water show will be held across three marinas as part of the China International Consumer Products Expo.
The first Sanya Boat Festival will be held in Hainan from April 15-18 as part of the fifth China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE), a fast-growing international event expected to feature more than 4,100 brands from over 70 countries and regions.
The Sanya Boat Festival has been billed as the official on-water component of the CICPE and is expected to feature 150 yachts and 45 exhibitors across three venues: Sanya International Yacht Center, Visun International Marina and Serenity Coast Marina.
Formally known as CICPE Sanya Boat Festival, the four-day boat show will be organised by the Hainan International Economic Development Bureau and the People’s Government of Sanya, and hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, and the People’s Government of Hainan Province.
The four-day boat show has been described as “a vital showcase and implementation platform for yacht-related policies under the Hainan Free Trade Port initiative”. Since 2020, the island province has been developing as a Free Trade Port, and is the country’s largest special economic zone.
The theme of the first Sanya Boat Festival is ‘Yacht +’, a concept “merging marine lifestyle, fashion culture, investment and watersports into a dynamic and immersive showcase”, according to organisers.
Show visitors will be able to witness Vera Wang’s haute couture debut on a floating runway and take romantic cruises aboard rose-themed yachts, or even combine luxury yachting with diving and undersea exploration.
Special highlights include an exhibition of innovative water toys and marine technologies; a Clipper Race ambassador sharing the extraordinary journey between everyday people and the sea; and the ‘Sanya Boat Night’ investment salon, which will unite top industry figures and HNWIs. On-water activities will include fishing tournaments, sailing regattas and water displays.
“Sanya’s harbour will come alive like never before with global maritime energy,” show organisers stated. “Powered by unique policy advantages, sailor-friendly weather conditions, and continuously upgraded infrastructure, Sanya is emerging as one of Asia-Pacific’s most dynamic marine destinations.”
