Sunreef CEO Francis Lapp has visited Mike Horn in Greenland during the famed explorer’s four-year What’s Left campaign. Horn’s latest global expedition involves exploring remote regions for up to six months at a time while evaluating climate change and other environmental issues.
Horn, a Sunreef Eco ambassador, is again using his 35m Pangaea – named after the ancient ‘supercontinent’ – for the expedition. The aluminium sailing boat benefited from a comprehensive refit at the Sunreef shipyard before Horn started the What’s Left campaign by setting sail from Yacht Club de Monaco in early May.

While in Greenland, Lapp was pictured sailing Pangaea, which features the Sunreef Yachts Eco logo on both sides of the hull beside the yacht’s name. Panerai, Hexaom, Cummins, Explora Journeys and Yacht Club de Monaco are also sponsors of the expedition.
“I decided to participate in this remarkable expedition with the dual purpose of being a part of the extraordinary exploration in Greenland and personally assessing the current state of the planet,” said Lapp, who founded Sunreef Yachts in 2002. “This experience has served as a profound motivation for me to continue to act for a sustainable future within the yachting industry.”

Following time in Iceland, Horn spent the second half of 2023 in Greenland as part of his exploration of the Arctic. Other destinations in the ‘What’s Left’ campaign include the Amazon jungle and Patagonia region in South America, Antarctica, the Australian desert and New Zealand, northern Canada and Alaska, and Asia.
Horn said: “Guiding my sailing vessel Pangaea, I return to iconic and wild locations to witness changes, fulfil more desires on my adventurer’s bucket list, and inspire people to act on their passions. I prioritise adventure and environment at each destination, sharing stories and footage from my journey.”
