Ferretti Yachts introduces new features on 860
A world premiere at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, the new Ferretti Yachts 860 features an extra-large garage and cockpit area, as well as a helical staircase and optional jacuzzi, both firsts for the brand.
The Ferretti Yachts 860 fits either 1,800mhp or 2,000mhp MAN V12s
Ferretti Group’s world premieres at the Cannes Yachting Festival included the Ferretti Yachts 860, the brand’s third-biggest model behind the 920 and the flagship 1000 that has already secured two sales to Asia.
The 860 can reach 32 knots with twin 000mhp MAN V12 engines
The Ferretti Yachts 860 can be fitted with twin 1,800mhp or 2,000mhp MAN V12 engines for a cruising speed of 24 and 27 knots, and a top speed of 28 and 32 knots respectively. Seakeeper stabilisers or Side Power/Sleipner Vector Fins are among options along with a joystick to control X-AID, the Adaptive Integrated Docking system developed by XENTA.
Filippo Salvetti designed the exterior
Built in Forli on Italy’s east coast, the 860 is Ferretti Yachts’ third model featuring both exterior design by architect Filippo Salvetti and an interior by IdeaeItalia, and was developed with Ferretti Group’s Strategic Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari and its Engineering Department.
The garage can fit a Williams SportJet 395 and a jetski
The 860 has an overall length of 26.95 metres (88ft 5in) and a beam of 6.22m (20ft 5in). Notable features include a remarkably large garage with space for a Williams SportJet 395 tender and a two-seat jetski, which can be launched directly into the water by lowering the platform.
The cockpit has a glass parapet
Like the 1000, the cockpit features an aft glass parapet for increased views, while two sofas face one another across a central table that can seat eight people. There’s a bar to port, while the door to the saloon can be fully opened, either electrically or manually.
The foredeck features facing sofas
The 11sqm foredeck has a forward-facing oversize double sofa with a central handrail and built-in glass holders, a sofa bed with a reclining backrest, a teak coffee table in the middle and an optional sunshade supported by carbon posts.
The flybridge covers 44sqm
The 44sqm flybridge can be furnished with freestanding elements in addition to a large, multi-function bar unit, a dinette seating up to eight people and, for the first time on a Ferretti model, an optional jacuzzi in the stern. A two-tone hard top is available in fixed glass, opening glass or with shading blades.
The interior in a Classic mood
Like all Ferretti Yachts models with interiors by IdeaeItalia, the 860 is available in either Classic or Contemporary moods, the former featuring darker, warmer colours and striking contrasts, and the latter with paler, cooler colours characterised by tone-on-tone shades through to total white.
Sliding door starboard of the dining area
The interior starts with a saloon with sofas on starboard side, space to port for a 75-inch TV and floor-to-ceiling windows. A large square dining table can seat eight people, while to port a sliding door offers great views, ventilation and access to the side deck.
Helical staircase to the lower deck
The galley can be enclosed or open, with appliances including a ceramic hob, microwave/oven, a 302-litre fridge and a 117-litre freezer. Up a couple of steps is a semi-raised pilothouse with Poltrona Frau pilot chairs, while to port of the dining area is a helical staircase, another Ferretti Yachts first, which leads down to the lower deck, where there are four en-suite guest cabins.
The owner’s suite is among four guest cabins
The full-beam owner’s cabin is midships and features ample storage including a walk-in wardrobe, while it also benefits from innovative acoustic insulation solutions. Forward on the starboard side is the double guest cabin, a twin cabin is to port, while a large VIP double is forward. The crew area for four is separate from the guest zone, with direct access from the pilothouse.
